  1. When he yelled SHUT UP at the fallen, it made the whole thing for me
  2. His comments about Jellyhorn made sense (Mainly as he mentioned Truth, and I happen to enjoy Truth far more)
  3. Awesome video, thank you
  4. OMG I want this to be a thing
  5. So, I keep looking at all the videos and random announcements lately, and one thought keeps popping into my head. (Also one piece of info popped up that I am trying to verify) TL;DR - The Beta is definitely over now. It "feels" to me like Bungie finally got their heads out of their Ass and are making the game we wanted all along. The game clearly grew way to fast for them to handle. Their are loads of reports out there that indicate this, there is also a former Dev interview that had a bit of an emotional breakdown from working on Destiny. The Dev's comments don't slam Bungie at all, but they do point to a number of things that have lead to Destiny's lackluster game. Drama around Martin O'Donnell quitting Destiny Lead writer quit/ walked away. Project handed to new writer who dumped all the original writers stuff (Until now) Activision had a much larger hand in Destiny's original development and the dev of VoG and CE. They are gone now, and are only over the actual release of the game (This means getting the discs and downloads out there) Poor Management higher ups. The Former Dev had a lot to say about this, he pointed out that people with zero experience or education were put in Management positions because Bungie needed bodies. Then these "managers" were given impossible deadlines, and fired for not meeting them. Then the process started over again (This is what EA and Ubisoft do, so I was shocked to hear that Bungie did this as well) The money grab mentality was real for Activision/ Bungie (I put activision first, as they were the drive behind this) There is a lot of good information out there right now; but like my TLDR states, I think we are all finally getting to the end of the BETA and will be playing the game we saw a few years ago soon. ......hopefully
  6. (NSFW) http://i.imgur.com/9ciSNye.gifv Enjoy and yes it is
  7. https://blog.activision.com/community/games-blog/destiny/blog/2015/08/05/destiny-the-taken-king-we-are-guardians-trailer-released What’s more, today at Gamescom it was revealed that every edition of Destiny: The Taken King will include one character boost, which allows players to instantly level up any existing or newly created guardian to the minimum level required to play The Taken King. Destiny: The Taken King arrives on September 15 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360. At launch, players on PlayStation platforms will gain access to additional content, including a Strike, a Crucible map, three sets of gear, and an exotic weapon—exclusive until at least fall 2016. ------------- So anyone wanting a new character can make it now, sit on it, and then bump it up to TTK levels at launch
  8. I disagree with we can't compare the two. Especially with Blizzard/ Activision helping Bungie work on this. I dont' think it is a bad thing either. WoW from Vanilla -> Lich King was the best MMO. (Although, i still love DAoC more than WoW, but for different reasons) Bungie is clearly working towards a more Traditional RPG style progression. Which they should do. Light level was a great idea on paper; it was horrible in its implementation. Weapon upgrades and Armor upgrades is something that most MMO's should have implemented a long assed time ago, or so I thought, now I see why they never did it in most cases. I like the changes, I have no idea if they will implement them how we want them to though. All that being said, I think that Destiny needs to work towards Armor and Weapon Set bonuses, as well as allowing us to sink XP into weapons to upgrade them and get away from Shards and energies. (When I say sink XP, I mean literally you lose XP so your gear can gain it)
  9. LOLZ Star Wars Prequels, Hobbit Trilogy, Every Live Action Transformers flick, hell, even the new Star Wars movies that haven't been released yet
  10. I enjoyed this video because it showed to me that I no longer have a proper understanding or ability to spot what good CGI is anymore. Mad Max is a great example. The canyon scene, I thought was real. Benjamin Button is another prime example That video just really drives home that I need to not talk about CGI being good or bad anymore without seeing a "making of..." for the movie in question.
  11. I was telling my wife about the changes, and she said the same exact thing. I am okay with it, if they do it. Biggest point of happiness for me, is I can get rid of the Hunter Armor shit in my vault for Faction. I am up to 80 from dismantling Knucklehead Radars.
  12. It appears that Bungie is working with Activision on making Destiny. That being said, whenever a WoW Expansion came out, ALL of your current gear was dead. Do quests get green upgrades, Shard out your old purples, rinse repeat. I'm not saying this is a good thing, or that we all need to come to accept it. It just happens to be the "New Carrot" to keep folks playing. (New to the expansion, not new to the genre) COH/V was a much different game. Super heroes are all about the journey, I think thats why it was so successful and popular (I still have no idea why they killed it off, that game was vastly more popular than anything else that studio has done) So all this being said, I think folks need to prepare themselves mentally for this to be the new norm in Destiny.
  13. With TTK killing off Light Levels. What do you think will be the in game story reason? Something will have to have happened to the Traveller to explain this
  14. or does it?
  15. I am curious here, how many of you guys have ever played an MMO like WoW, EQ, DAoC, or Guild Wars before? EDIT: So I just watched the video and something that I think is pretty big was said. You can pick ONE faction now, no more wearing faction items. Now this was incredibly vague, have any of you all seen an explanation out there on this?
  16. We can try to get something going this weekend if you want? Having never done the fight, I know we will need some time
  17. Sadly my son is sick. He is camped out here where I would normally play. We are watching Ben 10
  18. EDIT: No worries on the Copy/ Pasta, its a pet peeve of mine, so whenever I see links, I always just grab them and repost. You don't have to do it. -------------------- I really want to know to what level are they rethinking the items moving forward. It is perfectly normal for someone to dump all over there old gear with better gear in an expansion. Destiny wasn't following that method though. So moving to it could be good, but could also be a HUGE PITA for most players not used to it. Not sure if that makes sense. Basically, there is a chance that the Whites and Greens in Taken King will be better than our current Purples and Yellows. Nutshell - Dave, don't worry about getting JellyHorn
  19. I am not a fan of Mortal Kombat, sorry man Ace Combat though, now that is a damned good series
  20. So, farming anything right now seems kind of pointless. I would like to hit Skolas at some point, but after really reading this, I don't see a reason to other than to get the last year one achievement. IDK
  21. Copy/Paste Source 1 Our recent visit to Bungie provided us with hours of hands-on impressions detailed in this month’s magazine cover story, and one of the major changes we learned about is a new approach to leveling. Players earn XP by killing monsters, completing missions, and turning in bounties, as has always been the case, but that experience now feeds directly into your level progression all the way from 1 to the new level cap of 40. Meanwhile, weapons and armor continue to provide increased power to your character, with new gear unlocking for use as you level up. “The conflation of gear and character level led to this place where your identity was determined by things outside of your control,” says creative director Luke Smith. “We don’t want to do that.” We were also told that Destiny’s loot system will now pay closer attention to the loot you have already received when determining an appropriate drop, so that players will more consistently receive armor and weapons that provide meaningful power growth, items that vary their gear slot from one drop to the next, and fewer drops of items that a player has already attained. Copy/Paste Source 2 The NorthGhost, Leveling revamp and the previously-announced Questification of content will apply to all of Destiny in the 2.0 update — Luke Smith (@thislukesmith) https://twitter.com/thislukesmith/status/628607635495890944 ' class="bbc_url">@ The NorthGhost, Leveling revamp and the previously-announced Questification of content will apply to all of Destiny in the 2.0 update — Luke Smith (@thislukesmith) https://twitter.com/thislukesmith/status/628607635495890944 Copy/Paste Source 3 Our recent visit to Bungie headquarters confirmed what many fans have suspected for some time. Older legendary armor and weapons from across Destiny’s first year are not set to progress in power as Year Two begins. Simultaneously, dozens of new weapons and armor pieces are entering the game in an effort to revitalize the collection and discovery experience of the game. Based on our time with the game, strong Year-One gear will serve players well for the opening hours of The Taken King, but new weaponry and armor will rapidly replace older items, both because of interesting new perks, but also for increased attack or defense values. The change also resets the gear progression flow through new Taken King-tier white, green, blue, and purple gear, providing meaningful distinctions between new items as you level up through the new content. While Destiny has never strictly been considered an MMO, this approach for Year-Two gear echoes common practice in the MMO genre, including games like World of Warcraft or Final Fantasy XIV. Even so, it remains to be seen if fans are open to experimenting with the new arsenal if it means leaving old favorites behind. “I definitely feel like some of our players are ready to play with some new toys,” says creative director Luke Smith. “And we’ve built a whole bunch of new toys. There are definitely some weapons that you are going to find better versions of – there’s going to be something that replaces that sniper rifle that you love.”
  22. Just stumbled across this browser based game, wasn't sure if any of you played it or anything.
  23. I wanted the BB rifle to fall and hit him at the end.
