H3iman got a reaction from J4MES OX4D in Your general thoughts on Call of Duty now?
I want this series to burn out and die already. At this point, the only reason I play it is to play with my friends, even though I hate this game with a passion. Unfortunately, I'm stuck wasting my money every year to play with them, because these same friends refuse to play ANYTHING else. It is f&$*ing infuriating.
F*** Call of Duty.
Oh, and Battlefield 4 is the lesser of two evils, but just barely. Just, barely.

I'm a bit burnt out on the franchise to be honest. I still enjoy playing it from time to time, but I'm not hooked like I used to be. Back with CoD:4, W@W, MW2, and BO1 I played obsessively. I even played CoD:2 and 3 a good amount online. But, now... not so much. I have to force myself to play. I only play it because I enjoy playing with friends. It has become stale. It just feels like a grind with no end goal. I get tired of the lame tactics people use. I get tired of the connection issues. I'm kind of over the whole thing. I'm sure if I was new to gaming or CoD or even FPS games, I'd be hooked on Ghosts. It's a fine game, but it just feels like the same game I've been playing the past 5-6 years.
I've been branching out and trying different types of games since getting a gaming PC. It's really opened my eyes. I'm no longer obsessed with FPS games. There's a wide world of games out there that are every bit as competative, fun, and interesting.

H3iman reacted to J4MES OX4D in Your general thoughts on Call of Duty now?
Call of Duty: Ghosts for me is a great game but at present I have been feeling less motivated to play it to the extent I feel my personal interest in the franchise is diminished to a new low. I don't envisage picking it up anytime soon either.
I have been playing COD since the original but Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was the ultimate multiplayer experience that kicked off my love-affair of the games for years to come. It's been a bumpy ride mostly with issues ranging from the technical side to gameplay aspects and the general hit and miss booming community that they game has attained over the years but through the highs and lows I have always participated in each annual title with a significant level of interest and throughout the duration of the game. Despite Ghosts's hiccups on PC since release; I still think it's a fine game and this would have been excellent a couple of years ago but I just feel that franchise doesn't wow me any more. I wasn't overly excited through the build up and despite the final product ticking most of the boxes; I don't think the concept grabs me as much as it used to which leaves me feeling ultimately tired of Call of Duty it seems.
Spectre posted a breakdown list of what was new and what was essentially recycled in Ghosts and I was taken aback by the sheer lack of innovation on show and how many things had been rehashed but presented in a deceptive way to seem new and original. So much that Treyarch offered in Black Ops 2 was also not taken forward into Ghosts which disappointed me as well. This did make me see the game differently and the more I played since; the less interested I felt with the game. I didn't think Ghosts looked quite the advance that I was expecting perhaps still being tied to what is now the old generation of consoles but even a next-gen only Call of Duty would struggle to grab me which leaves me a bored with the typical Call of Duty design and multiplayer architecture. I've even found more time to play Brokenfield 4 which is extremely worrying!
As we move onwards and upwards with the new consoles; I am focusing on the future titles such as Watch Dogs, Destiny, The Division, Titanfall and the likes of MGSV. Ambition, scale and large MP titles have me intrigued as to what is just around the corner. Call of Duty seems to be from a bygone era in my opinion that I can't see me playing in the future with massive MMO-styled titles of an exceptional quality like The Division or Destiny offer. For COD to come into the generation side by side such games; it will have to offer a complete overhaul of everything along with clear ambition and a radical new overview. The heart of me doesn't want them to drift too far away from the familiar concept but my head wants a massive and scaleable change to keep up with other unique titles on show.
What are your general thoughts about the series now when compared to years ago?
A welcome break from the game is perhaps what I need but not even the future DLC may be enough to keep me inspired. We shall see..

H3iman reacted to Sennex in Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited
And thats exactly the problem
They start off telling you how special you are, and how the prophet has seen all this shit for you in the future, and then BAM you are out of your prison cell in the middle of a few hundred other "special" people...
There was never any sort of attachment to the character, there wasn't a single thing that made you feel unique and not just another unwashed basement dweller in Skyrim with hundreds of other people.
The combat mechanics feel ripped directly from Neverwinter Nights (Free 2 play on Steam), and I am serious here, they are directly ripped from it.
You could tell that they were going to port it, as they limit you to the number of attacks/ spells/ abilities you can have equipped. In other words they are dumbing it down so that players with Xbox/ PS Controllers are not left out.
We all praised the 3 faction Race/ Class combo's at first, but unless they go through massive changes, then none of them matter, there will be no diversity across the factions. Every Race can be every class, and every faction.
Every quest had spoken speech..... SWTOR had this, and it sounded amazing at first, until you realize that there is LITERALLY NO POINT to it other than to suck up space on my hard drive. Oh, and you can't skip it (at least not in BETA), so by about level 10, you are sitting there yelling "STFU!!! I know I need to collect 7 Bear Asses!"
In 20 levels as a Templar, I was never once able to heal another player, even though the Templar is the healing/ tank class. The reason for this? There was no real range to the spells. The minute Joe the Plumber decides he spots a new shiny and runs out of your range, you end up healing yourself and not him.
Best part about this: It was impossible to tell just who was healed, so it was a guess, and the vast majority of players won't communicate that you missed them when they are running the fuck away from you to pick up a shiny, or fight more mobs. So they die
I could go on.
Honestly, just wait for the next Elder Scrolls Single player game, and you will enjoy yourself far more.
I was insanely excited about this game (Not sure my posts are still around covering the various trailers), but the Beta, as a preview was so woefully underwhelming, that I cancelled my pre-order.
Also, Yes, I get it was a Beta. This isn't my first Beta in an MMO, I understand that we still have 5 months left before Launch, that doesn't change the fact that there isn't a single thing special about this game, there wasn't a single time when I was playing it that I was in Awe of what was happening to me, like I had been in Skyrim so often.
Good thing though:
The game looks fantastic, Graphically speaking. It was Skyrim with all the HD textures maxed out.

H3iman got a reaction from BO7H B4RRELS in Humble Jumbo Bundle
Currently on sale as part of a Humble Bundle:
Natural Selection 2
Sanctum 2
Magicka + DLC
Orcs Must Die! 2: Complete Pack
Garry's Mod
Serious Sam 3: BF3
I've got Natural Selection 2 and it is a fun game, a FPS and RTS combination with the Commander building stations for Marines that try to wipe out the enemy Aliens' nest. Not a very big community, but I'm sure it'd be a blast with a small party using Teamspeak.
All of these can be yours for the low price of $4.15 (price subject to change).

H3iman reacted to Corey the Kiwi in LoL Help Thread
It is hard to explain in words but it is something that you naturally learn over time. Positioning and role in a teamfight is key, you need to know what will be the best for your team. Either being the ADC and keeping distance from the enemies, being a tank who peels for the ADC, an Assassin who comes in from the side to kill a key damage dealer, a tank to disrupt the backline etc.
There are many jobs you have to do and many ideas to learn like this and more such as target priority. A lot of teams go for the easy kill by focussing the support but that isn't going to help you, you want to kill the damage dealers first such as the ADC, the others may seem like a problem but once their threats are gone they are just a giant sponge with no real damage.
Also, in your situation, you've got to work to snowball when you are ahead. Don't just be content with having a few kills over the champion you're laning against. Capitalise on your advantage; roam the map searching for kills or towers, take objectives such as dragons or bait the enemy team into fighting you at dragon when you know your team has the advantage.

H3iman got a reaction from spectre in Help - Build me a Gaming PC
Diddums told me what to buy when I decided to get into PC gaming, so I'd definitely listen to whatever advice he gives you. With that in mind, I'd recommend checking out logicalincrements.com, they have a massive list of recommend builds for a range of budgets.
At around $1000, you should definitely be able to build a quality PC.

H3iman reacted to Chookes in IED's = Idiotic Exectution Dumbassery
I can't stand them. I can't stand claymores. I can't stand bouncing bettys. I can't stand shock charges. I can't stand anything that is put down and left waiting for someone to walk by. If it was up to me, none of that would be in the game.

H3iman got a reaction from BO7H B4RRELS in U.S. Meet Up
Can anybody contact Kyle, aka MyM777? I know he's busy in college over in Chicago, but since Chicago will be on the way to Ohio for me we could possibly carpool together.

H3iman reacted to kylebees in U.S. Meet Up
So after having brief discussions with Mike and Chris, I have decided to post here to see if there would be any interest in a meet up here in the US??? I know that we cover a lot more area here than they do across the pond but if we can decide on a centralized location, then I believe we could get a good group of us together for a fun extended weekend.
I would like to gauge the interest before trying to find a place to have this. In my talk with Chris, I thought somewhere like Washington DC might work or even Pittsburgh. Again, until we know who's interested, we can really decide on a place. I'm most certainly willing to travel to meet up with you guys. I truly believe this could be a blast!!
Let's try to make this happen. Post if you're interested and where you're from and if we get enough responses, then we'll try to figure out a place.
Hope this works!!

My 2 cents is that Kill Confirmed is your best bet, on Strikezone.
Record it as well, I want to see TigerBurge go 0-50.

H3iman reacted to Diddums in Ghosts is Trash on PC
It's getting to a point where the two biggest players are fucking up so badly that all it will take is a decent game that works to hammer them from the top spot. Both CoD and BF on PC are so knackered at the moment that they're barely worth playing. BF I'm sure has improved since the recent patch but the launch was a catastrophic failure.
People are saying that games are getting more and more complicated to make, and devs are getting worked harder, etc etc, but that argument falls apart when you realise that there are so many recycled elements from previous iterations, and even then, these are triple A titles: if you don't have the resources, then hire more. It's not that hard. The game coding industry is saturated with people trying to get their foot in the door, but the publishers would rather release a defective product and deny all this talent the opportunity to grow than hire some of them and release a quality product.
It's a joke really. If you went to the cinema and watched a film and had to come back numerous times to get the full experience you'd flip your shit, yet gamers seem to suck it up (myself included) and let these publishers get away with it.

H3iman got a reaction from BO7H B4RRELS in This game and the people that play it
This is exactly the issue I'm having with FPS games these days. People play like assholes. They ignore the objective, use every cheap tactic they can to kill you, and there isn't a damn thing you can do about it. Sure, you could climb up the ladder onto the roof, but you can't convince them to play the objective, and I don't want to stoop to their level by using cheap tactics myself. I realize that if somebody buys the game, they have the right to play however they want to, but I don't have to play it with them.
MOBAs like Dota 2 and League of Legends don't have that problem. Once in a blue moon, you'll come across a troll teammate that intentionally feeds the enemy, and you'll run into an asshat teammate that insults you for playing poorly. But as a whole, your team plays to win. They don't play for some montage clip, they don't ignore the objective and killwhore. And in games like Dota 2, there aren't game mechanics that can be abused, because the entire game is designed to be competitive. When the only difference in a game between playing casually and playing competitively is how well you play and how seriously you take winning, that game becomes one worth playing.
I may look into the competitive Defuse game mode that Battlefield 4 releases with, but I have no interest in any other game mode because I'm sick of the bullshit that comes with them.

H3iman got a reaction from BO7H B4RRELS in PC System Requirements for Ghosts
The Call of Duty: Ghosts requirements have appeared on Geforce, and a few things stand out. First, the game requires 6 GB of RAM. Second, it is a 50 GB file. And finally, Nvidia recommends a GTX 780 to run it, which is a $700 (£435) graphics card.
These requirements are higher than Battlefield 4, and it is generally accepted that Battlefield 3 looks much better than any of the recent Call of Duty games.

H3iman reacted to Drifter in Mike's PC
I just want to say something which has not been said yet..
I had no big deal in this (Mikes PC) or Tommys, I only kicked in $10-$20 here and there, I know other like Jay kicked in much more, but I think we need to bring to the fore front what a good person Dave is. He headed up, bought, built both these Pc's for Mike as well as Tommy. How many guys would even think to do this for a fellow friend whom they never even meet in person??
Dave you are one hell of a great guy bud, and I for one, even though I can't say I know you in person, I'm proud to at least be able to call you a "friend" Dave. Living across the pond I wager a bet we will never meet, but I sure hope maybe some day we would be able to sit down and share a drink together because you sure seem like a hell of a good guy whom I would like to know in persaon.
