It certainly is a beautifully crafted racer. Only played some licences and an arcade race so far so its early days. I'm glad we have the licences still in the game. Its a big part of the core way GT works, and its good that they have linked to youtube for key videos to help understand what to do in each one. I'm on the fence with the way that the races work though. The licences are the career mode. You're then left with Arcade mode (vs AI) that looks initially like just a single race with defined cars to choose from. Then there's online races, which I imagine you use your cars you've purchased. I'm going to see if you can tune like you used to and what other customisation is in it. The picture mode though is ridiculous. I'll find some pics people have seen online and you wouldn't believe its not real. I'm excited to play the online mode to see if it will play well or if you get online trolls immediately.
So who's looking forward to this then? Have a trailer: ------ Personally, I'm not too bothered, but if they manage to bring the same level of gameplay back as GT3, then I'll be all over this. GT5 was a massive disappointment for me, probably because it was delay after delay, only to be handed a game that felt unfinished, with only a percentage of the cars being premium, the sounds were crap, to name but a few things. I'm fairly certain that this was mainly because we spent years building up hype whilst they tweaked and tuned, only for someone in their PR department to pull the plug and tell Polyphony to release it fast. Due to that, things that were still in the works were rushed off and we got a disappointing game as a result. This is also the 15th anniversary game of Gran Turismo. How the years have flown by, it seems like just a couple of years ago that I sat in awe looking at those square wheels on the original Playstation. Make it a good one Polyphony, and more importantly, make it on time. GT6 is for the PS3.
