This one dropped near the end of November, and it almost feels like a Western, vampire slaying God of War 2018 kinda game.  The action is paced roughly the same as the new GoW series, with the exception of not being in an open world.  Instead, you run a series of missions, in which, you can find a host of collectibles scattered about.  It's been a fun go of it, but it feels really dated.  I almost feel like if this released during the early 360/ps3 era, it would've been one of the most talked about games.

I'd wait for a price sale though.  I think this one will be a freebie at some point considering it's not a AAA studio/publisher.  But, It's one that'll be fun playing through.

The publishers really hyped it up and it looked an interesting concept but the execution looks fairly dated and uninspired. I can definitely see it a few people having a go if it was around the £12-15 mark but £44 on Steam is pretty outlandish. There's been quite a few mechanically similar games in recent years so for many it just wont feel new even with a drastically different setting and backdrop. By the time it drops in price though, I will probably have moved onto other games.

For sure.  Definitely wait for a sale or the freebie.  I'd honestly file it under "Nothing else to play, and nothing coming out anytime soon."

Ok.  After spending some time with this over the past couple days, here's my thoughts.

There seems to be a trend lately with having gameplay zapped in from the early 2000s.  Visually, the game looks great and while the story is interesting, it gave me a lot of Gears of War vibes in the cheese department.

The gameplay is straight-up, old-school 3rd person action-adventure from a very poor perspective that makes tracking enemies challenging.  If the camera had some more distance, like Devil May Cry,  behind it, I feel the action on-screen would be better conveyed.

A lot of encounters, specifically some boss ones, have that annoying old-school rule of constantly throwing tons of ads and projectile enemies at you that draw your attention constantly away from the boss at hand.  A few either at the start or somewhere in the middle that are finite would be fine, but having them constantly respawn is just lazy game design and honestly ruins the fun in what could have been a great game.

If this released in the early 2000s, it'd have probably been a GoTY candidate.  Wait for a big sale or even a freebie on this one and save your money.
