So we have the 3rd installment of the Batman: Arkham series...

Unfortunatly I haven't got to play it very much over the weekend despite getting it Friday, and to my surprise a special edition turned up and I only payed standard price, that was nice...

From the little I have played, you will find a lot of the locations and places it sends you to early on are identical or very much the same as the previous instalments, they are all set in the same city after all...

Some of the parts early on do seem very linear, there isn't anywhere to go wrong on a long windy corridor... This soon ends and your back out into the city where you can go where you like.

As I say a lot of what I have seen so far gameplay wise is very much the same as the previous titles, surely that's a good thing.

I'm only on the second boss right now (Deathstroke) and it's soo hard I'm on around attempt 20-25 trying to defeat him...

I like the story so far already, the voice acting as always is excellent, the gameplay is great as in previous titles and it's good I see some new faces new characters, a lot of whom I didn't know... They were never in the cartoons I ever saw, probably in the comics... The game gives good detailed info on them all too, it's great reading the little profiles for each of the characters you meet...

I definatly recommend this game to almost anyone, especially those that enjoyed the previous 2, you can't go wrong...

This title also has an online mode, however I cannot tell you what that is at this time, I'll certainly get around to it...

I'll post some further thoughts as I progress through the game...

Thanks to mike again,

Apparently this game isn't doing as well as it's predecessor...

I can only think lack of advertising before release, and the fact next gen consoles are coming in 3-4 weeks time.

It certainly dosent reflect the quality of the game IMO...

The best, most honest review of the game I could find.

Guy gives it 3.5 out of 10.

Seriously though, read it thoroughly, he really backs up his claim, and he raises a ton of good points.

I'll read the rest if that later, seems like it may spoil the plot...

Good man... I was reading through and some of the things being said I thought hmmm I better stop here...

I still think 3.5 is harsh

As far as I am in the game, it actually feels spot on. I really hate saying that but there it is

I'm like 6% in at the ship about to kick Cobblepot's teeth in. I agree with the reviews about the lack of "easter eggs" or things to find. Having a whole world and only having 10 Riddler Datapacks is weird. Maybe there will be more things but its all I've run into.

I've been back on playing this. I stopped playing for a while because I was stuck in a glitch after the Deathstroke boss fight. I went through a door that auto locks for whatever reason so I was unable to get out of the building I was in after the fight. Well the other day I fired the game up again conceding I'd have to redo the level/boss fight. Upon loading it fucked up and started in windowed mode? I optioned it back to full screen, loaded my save and was able to progress through the door? Yay for me I guess but now the game is very reminiscent of Assassins Creed 1 where you're just jumping around doing the same things repeatedly all over the City. Starting to agree with the reviews. It does look and run amazingly though.

Asylum and City were absolutely remarkable games but I've been a bit put-off with the reviews of Origins. It's made by a new developer isn't it too?

May pick it up on Steam if it dips below £20 notes

Yeah first two with Rocksteady (UK) and Origins at Warner Bros. Games Montréal. Bonjour! They're both owned by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment which makes sense since Origins is close to exactly the same game as City.

I recently picked up the Asylum and City game of the year editions in a humble bundle for Steam. A friend let me borrow City GOTY for 360 and I had a blast playing through it so I wanted to add it to my PC collection on the cheap! Never played Asylum...
