Drifter 851
Most you guys know I run my own business building custom rods for anglers. Recently I was contacted by a group of guys that wanted an extremely high end custom rod package to present to one of their friends/fellow employee that is about to retire. So this is the rod package I just finished up today for them. All hand made parts in this one with wood grip and I contracted out the hand made wood rod tube to be build, lots of engraving was done my a professional engraver on the reel seat hardware and such. Came out really nice but boy was there a lot of tedious care put into the build of this one. Glad its done and out of my hair now Link to comment https://forevergaming.co.uk/forum/forums/topic/4314-lot-of-work-into-this-rod/ Share on other sites
Greboth 2,721
Fishing has never interested me so I have no idea what I'm really looking at but I have to respect anyone that make something with their hands. Drifter 851
I had a guy I know make the wood rod tube. He's done some in the past for himself so I sub contracted him out to do this one for this package. The green in the grip is dyed green beech wood. Baabcat 1,646
Why do you put two lumps of cork in the handle, what are they for. Looks good Link to comment https://forevergaming.co.uk/forum/forums/topic/4314-lot-of-work-into-this-rod/#findComment-88144 Share on other sites
Drifter 851
Cork is the traditional material used for grips, so it's part of the design. Link to comment https://forevergaming.co.uk/forum/forums/topic/4314-lot-of-work-into-this-rod/#findComment-88146 Share on other sites
