Sennex 1,903
Okay well: BelArc Advisor: It will tell you if shit is out of date, and needs to be updated. You can do screen grabs or just read what it says on the screen. It should also link to updates. Commander_Undies 618
Thanks Pat. Whatever Bart did, helped for now. Hopefully, it stays that way. I'll be testing it out over the next few days and i'll let you know if it keeps it up. I tried Heroes of the Storm tonight and the tutorial was flawless, then I played an online game and it was laggy as hell. Might have been my connection though, but I don't normally experience in game lag like that. Thanks Bart. I'll keep you guys up-to-date via this thread then. Diddums 4,346
Sorry Mike, been meaning to have a go with this but life's been very hectic lately what with the job shit and family coming over. Sennex 1,903
Direct X 12 wouldn't solve this issue. EDIT: The problem wasn't in how the game performed, it was general slowness of the GPU. He has direct X 11 The problem was, for whatever reason, his GPU was getting hammered. I have no idea how old or new the GTX 660. I turned off the Windows Aero overlay, and that seemed to fix it. Also I edited the startup to not have a ton of shit running at launch. Luke 23:34 'And Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they don't think it be like it is, but it do." Commander_Undies 618
So far so good, I've been keeping the system up and running. I need a new power strip and that's why I kept turning it off after use. But for the past few days I've just had the screen saver up and i'm sure that's helping. Whenever I get a better power strip i'm sure I can rest easily at night though. The only thing going on now is I keep getting a pop up: I keep clicking ask me again later to see what you guys have to say. I don't have disc to back anything up, and there really isn't anything on here that i'm worried about losing. I don't have many pictures on here, no music. Just steam games really. BO7H B4RRELS 2,453
If I remember correctly, you have a Seagate HDD, right? I did a quick google search, and checked the Tom's Hardware link (they seem like a good forum from what I know), and this was the top answer. He basically said to use the Seagate tools to check the drive. Here's a link to the Seagate downloads... You may want to just call the manufacturer and see if they'll replace it. You haven't had your PC all that long. Link to comment https://forevergaming.co.uk/forum/forums/topic/2696-geek-squad/page/2/#findComment-64311 Share on other sites

He basically said to use the Seagate tools to check the drive. Here's a link to the Seagate downloads... You may want to just call the manufacturer and see if they'll replace it. You haven't had your PC all that long. Thanks Tommy. I'm doing these things now. Sam came over to open up my desktop last night and check the cables. My hands can't fit in that thing to save my life. So thankfully she can handle that crap. The wires were plugged in all the way. She even switched the sata cables. Still doesn't say it is working when I start it up. Once I hit spacebar to get passed the screen that says it's unavailable, it starts up windows like nothing is wrong. And I do update games and stuff like LoL. So I'm really confused as to why i'm having these troubles. I'm running a disc defragmenter and it said it will check the drivers at the next start up or something. Even though I told it I want them checked now. So I don't know. From what I've been reading Seagate sucks. So if my HDD is dead, I'll just get a Western Digital. I don't know how over the span of 2 years this thing just dies on me. Once i'm done with this FL trip, i'll be focusing on fixing this thing up. If I need a new harddrive, i'll get it. I'd like to upgrade my OS and I need a new power strip, not a power strip from the late 90s. Free Space: 207.6 GB Total Space: 476.8 GB File System: NTFS Model: WDC WD5000AAKX-60U6AA0 ATA Device Pat Thanks Pat! I hate that you've been having issues man. Did you ever try calling the manufacturer? I've been pretty busy with things here. I want to see if I can get help here before trying to talk to someone I can't understand on the phone. I don't even know what they would do for me honestly. I have your hard drive, but no receipt the box it came in, etc. etc. Give me another one. Does that even work anymore? lol Link to comment https://forevergaming.co.uk/forum/forums/topic/2696-geek-squad/page/2/#findComment-65084 Share on other sites
