Fallout - TV Series
Posted

Just finished it tonight and have to say even though for much of the series I had no clue what was going on I enjoyed it overall. I thought it started well went off the rails in the middle a little but the series was rounded off nicely.

Definitely made a nice change to see something different as I've watched some crap lately *Gray*.

I will leave this here though, it's quite long but an interesting discussion, maybe not knowing much about the lore helped?

Now I get some of the arguments against it but at the end of the day it's TV and tbh all TV suffers in a similar way imo.

I've managed to watch 4 episodes. I wanted to watch a few before passing judgment. I didn't know what to expect but it's excellent.

I was worried to begin with that it might be a bit tame and I might find the characters annoying but no, it's gory, brutal, funny and I think they cast it very well, so yeah overall very happy so far.

Gory, brutal and funny definitely gonna check it out. Also hearing that you don't need to have played the games to enjoy it also helps.

I watched it a few days ago too and honestly its a run of the mill, easy watching, action film. Nothing too crazy, although McGregor in parts is hilarious so its worth 6-7 out of 10. Never watched the original, probably should now but I enjoyed this one nonetheless.

Watch the original to see how bad this new one is😁

Yeah not watched the original but may try to find it on a streaming service. Also just watched the gentlemen series on Netflix and thought it was very good, glad they didn’t try to carry it on from the film but have adapted it to be based on that sort of world.

Both are on Amazon.

So I finally watched the beekeeper, now it's a Statham film so you know what your getting but for me that's fine as I like his stuff and it's pure brain out entertainment.

I also watched, back to back the new road house and the original. Now for me it's the original hands down but I have to say the remake wasn't as bad as I expected if you can get past Jake Gyllenhal fighting Connor McGregor 🤔 however not sure we should see McGregor acting again either 😉. However not a waste of 2 hours.

Do not watch Leave The World Behind on Netflix.  It pulls you in early, makes you think there's going to be some good story here, and then absolutely nothing happens.  Its dumb as fuck.

The new Mission Impossible is fantastic.  Free Solo about Alex Honnold is also a 100% watch

Free solo is excellent 👍

So I watched Ferrari last night, I knew nothing about it going in and didn't know it's based on a true story.

Tbh it wasn't that good, all the racing scenes seemed like bad CGI  especially the crash scene then the bits about his life was just dull.

This was no le mans 66.

Came across this guy and have been watching loads of his stuff, I just love his presenting style and he certainly seems to know what he's talking about. He's definitely a big fan of Elon 😂

Watched Napoleon at the weekend, I was going to see it at the cinema but after watching critical drinkers review decided not to. This turned out to be the correct decision as in some parts I was just bored. I'd have preferred more of his campaigns etc and less Josephine bull shit.

Had a film recommended to me and eventually decided to watch it last week, not the usual crappy superhero/ comic book film and absolutely no identity politics thankfully...what it was, was an original in everyway war film..

Sisu

Let's be honest it's really violent and there's plenty of gore, the story isn't bad but the film gets more far fetched as it goes on however it was thoroughly entertaining and I just had to keep watching.

Well reluctantly watched expendables 4 last night and have to agree with the reviews I watched it is trash, no wonder Stallone seems to not to have wanted to be involved.

So does anyone seriously believe Megan Fox would be the leader 🤣 also the way the film was produced you could pretty much see everything was filmed on a stage or it just looked fake as fuck. Hopefully this series is now finished because it definitely to a massive drop in quality.

Finally saw dead reckoning part 1 and if I'm honest I was a little disappointed but not sure why? Now don't get me wrong the film wasn't bad but maybe we've just seen it all before🤷. Still credit where it's due Cruise I'd say is the top action star at the moment imo and when Bond rises from the grave has some serious steps to get anywhere close.

Literally just watched Oppenheimer and it was bloody good. Well directed, great story (not overly bogged down with quantum physics language) and brilliant cast with Cillian Murphy knocking it out the park with a lot of good supporting appearances from familiar Christopher Nolan actors (interesting to see how young people will react to RDJ not being Tony Stark in a major movie). Definitely recommend.

Went to see it last week and agree it's a great film, it's long but I never felt the length was an issue. Jumping around the timeline was annoying a little and I would have liked to see a little more around the Manhatten project timeline but I'll definitely watch it again when it's available on TV.

Music of your teenage years
Posted

My first foray into music when me and r kid got a record player was some donations from my uncle who had a music room so I got things such as Johnny kid and the pirates to Billy fury and even the chipmunks and Sarah brightman and hot gossip

..starship trooper. My first bought record was stand and deliver so my teenage years was the 80's so basically the best time for music😉. However after going throug the start of dance and techno I can listen to anything depending on mood or the amount of alcohol I've consumed even the stuff like the black veil brides and falling in reverse I have to put up with from the wife.

Quarterback

On Netflix if you have any interest in the NFL wether a long time fan or simply intrested this is a great well done series. I've been interested in the NFL since the late 80's and even I got a greater insight into the game with this ahow. It was great to see they managed to pick the new Goat😉 a decent quarterback and someone who struggles. Not sure if they filmed others and then picked these 3 ?

The on field interactions were excellent and more players that are  mic'd up should be part of future coverage.

Whatever you do, do not watch A Good Day To Die Hard. It's absolutely horrendous! It's Independence Day 2/Home Alone 3 quality of garbage

I'll second that, I really enjoy the first 4 films but that last one complete garbage cash cow.

I'm actually running through the men in black trilogy 🤷
