I went to give the time trial another go but just ended up racing the daily race instead - oops. It is a fun track though and so easy to make tiny mistakes that cost time.
I’m more used to racing gr3 round here so it took some getting used to driving gr4. You can get on the power so much earlier and not have to worry about oversteer.
I got in 11 laps before going out today and managed to squeeze in to the 1:35’s using the M4. I don’t feel like I left a lot in the table so don’t know how much faster I can go. I think I will try to get in some laps with other cars to see how they stack up.
It is easy to lose time around the mountain section. One corner off line can throw you off for then next couple meaning a small loss becomes a much bigger loss than at other tracks. Still a fast time though
I know we passed the new track time but we were enjoying this so left it but will post another combo up later.
For the daily races, you just have to bear with it to get your driving rating up. The other option is don’t qualify so you always start at the back, let everyone get a lead and just drive round on your own. It’s boring and you’ll drop some skill rating but probably the quickest way to get your driver rating up. Though even in S rating I’ve had people push me off as you draft past on straights.
Just gave this another few laps and hit a 1:52.039 so 51’s are possible as I ran wide at the chicane at the beginning of sector 3. I’m going out in a bit but saved the lap so will upload it so you can see where you’re losing time. For a bit of a quick guide though -
I managed to get a few laps in with the Honda tonight, only 5 or 6 but these cars take some getting used to! They feel so much faster than Gr3 cars and certainly you can carry a lot more speed in the corners. I got the Honda in to the 53's but think I can squeeze that in to the 52's with a few more laps. I want to try the Nissan too as I have that car already.
I haven’t driven any gr2 cars so it is going to be new for me. I will have to try and put some more time in to the combo this week as I think it’s going to take some practice to get a good lap.
I've raced the track a few times for the sport races but that has been Gr3 so it is going to be a challenge getting the faster cars round the mountain.
The One-77 is so much faster, I squeezed in a few laps and got a 1:44.648. Probably could have gone a little faster but didn’t have time to do more laps.

Damn your 45 is a fast time! I did about 15 laps and the best I managed was a 1:46.854 with the Vulcan. I tried the Lambo out too but couldn't get close to the Vulcan's time. I think I need to do some more practice if I'm going to get close to your time Phil.
Yup, the whole mountain section is tricky but when you hit all the corners just right it’s a fun track. I did it a lot the last time this combo was up and really got in to the grove of the track but couldn’t get the flow yesterday. Think I need to do a couple more races on it this weekend....then maybe give the time trial a go
Haha yup, the 4C is a little tail happy. I think for a fast time on this track you have to really pay attention the the lines you take.
The left, right, left at the beginning of the lap you can cut the kerbs quite a lot (aim for the red sausage kerb to go between your wheels). You can then get on the throttle soon after the right and hang on through the left giving you good speed all the way down to the hairpin. After the hairpin, take a tight line through the left to give you a normal out-in- out racing line through the right and left. With left also being a corner you can really use the kerbs on to keep your speed up.
Yup, Bop was enabled I managed to get in to the 1:49's but I'm really inconsistent with the Alfa 4c. The oversteer is nice as a little drift seems to really help keep my speed up round the corners but too often it turns in to massive slides. I think I will have to try some of the other cars in the class to see how they handle and it any are a little less of a handful.
I’m now wondering if I forgot to enable BoP. I don’t remember doing it and my time is quite a but faster considering I only did 3 or 4 laps. I’ll check later tonight if my time was with BoP. Either way I’ll try and set a proper lap time tonight too.
Though the official sport races are good combos this week so will probably spend more time on them than the time trial.
I had a few laps in the Alfa 4C while waiting for Odubs to update earlier. It is quite oversteery too but I found it useful when I took the perfect line as it allows you to carry so much speed. Only set a 1:50.2 I think it was but certainly room for some improvement on that lap time.
I haven’t managed to get on to try this again, I keep getting distracted by ODubs pc. I think I’ll have to though as a precaution in case you get too close. I like having some breathing room.
The Gr.4 cars aren’t to bad with 0 TC, especially on the super soft tyres. I find 0 TC on Gr.3 a bit tricky on some corners but Gr2 or Gr1 I have to run some TC still.
