Does anyone still watch this show? Season 8 finale was crazy. I am looking forward to what Season 9 brings. I have read they will explore more of the Men of Letter mythology.  If anyone watched Season 8, what did you think of the new Batcave?

Jensen and Jared have stated they would be on for a Season 10, so we might just make it to that.

Season 9 premieres October 8th

I'm excited for the new season to start! I'm sure the Men of Letters theme will play out more and the bunker is pretty damn cool. The show has kind of plateaued for me. They drop a chunk of story in your lap then you have to wait 2 episodes to get back on track. 20+ 40min episodes where 1/3 of them progress the story. More story less monster of the week if they plan on wrapping the show up anytime soon.

I thought it plateaued in Season 7.  I almost stopped watching it.  Then it started picking back up again in Season 8, for the Men of Letters and Batcave aspects alone.  I have read they will be doing more small, personal stories this time around.  In Season 8, they were basically doing and Indiana Jones style story with all the trials.  Guess who's back too,

Bobby!

I watch it, I did leave it a while back probably about season 4 but got back into it, would assume were a bit behind the states, not sure as we have a fair few recorded.

I like shows that are a little different that move away from the norm, sometimes surprises me which shows actually get multiple series. Suppose it shows quality writing and I like the added humour, would like to see more of castiel tho.

Exactly right in saying "shows that move away from the norm" Because you know what makes Supernatural so special?  There is hardly any sexual inuendos on every single episode. Sure there is a running joke with Dean liking Asian porn, but that's about it.  The show also celebrates family and brotherhood; these type shows are few and far between. The only other show that address Masculinity and celebrates it is Sons of Anarchy. Guess what, its a popular show. That's why its so popular; men acting like men are supposed to act.  Sopranos was the same way; and it was just as popular too. Same reason.

That's what I like about Supernatural. You can watch it with kids in the room and not feel anxious that some sexual situation is going to pop up that they shouldn't be hearing or watching.  TV has really gone downhill in the last 20 years.

^ lol

How about S07E13 "The Slice Girls" Where Dean picks up an Amazon at a bar, sex scenes her, has a kid and Sam kills it.

And SoA celebrating illegal gang activity, illegal weapons, hazing, kidnapping, arson, infidelity, drugs, porn, drinking and driving, killing, etc... etc...

In all the shows you suggested it's men banded together spitting in the face of the law and societies norms. They're not great models for how a man should behave. :D

I should add a comment. I meant that Supernatural was ok for kids.  And then I also like the brotherhood aspect of it, which I then led me to talk about Sopranos and Sons of Anarchy; not saying the latter two were meant for kids

The Amazon episode was hilarious though; but good point.  99% of the time though, sex is not an issue.

Love the show.

The writing is top-notch and clever, the humor never gets cringeworthy (not by accident, anyway), the action keeps you on the edge of your seat, and the characters are endearing as f*ck.

Whoever dismisses this show because they think its just another antenna soap opera is sorely mistaken.

SEASON 8 SPOILERS

Seeing every angel ever fall from grace at the exact same time was crazy.

I was so pumped...and then the credits rolled. xD

Bring on season 9!

And whats the deal with Crowley?

Is he a nice King of Hell now?

I hope they keep up the half human transition on him; maybe throw in some bits of him feeling guilty and all that.  It was an on the edge of my seat, finale.  It's comical that the big bad for next season is Booger from Revenge of the Nerds.

Exactly my hopes!

It would make a likeable a$$hole like Crowley that much funnier. x)

Whenever I forget his name I call him Megatron.

lol.

Bobby is back?!

Im interested in seeing how Cass copes with being human.

Orgies. My guess is orgies.

Wait a minute...

Human Cass...no angels in heaven...

Isnt this leading up to the future Zachariah told Dean that he can never escape? :o

All we need is a little Croatian virus...

argh, I couldn't stand Zachariah.

Question about Cass though, wouldn't losing his Angelship mean that his Vessel consciousness should return? Poor guy living life as a meat suit.

Yeah, he was a crowned d*ck.

"I have six wings and 4 faces, one of which is a lion!" x)

---

Not nessecarily, as he's "technically" still an angel, but has no powers since heaven is closed.

Maybe they'll explore his vessel's consciousness emerging gradually now that he lost his powers.

It would certainly be interesting to see.

You feel pretty bad for him when his vessel returns home, though. :\

Im pretty sure he resents Cass a bit.
