Whats everyone's thoughts to Heatsink or standard? People are saying it seems to not make much diffeence but interested if anyone has already got additional SSD storage as these games are getting bigger and bigger by the day! I think i'll have to save to get a 2TB one because I fear 1TB will just fill up really quickly with most of the latest games nearing 100GB or way more in some instances. Cheers!

Finally we're here, the next PS5 hardware system update brings Discord to all of us. I tried to find the easiest video about which is below on how it works. I'd like to try and start using this more now because we can now have more crossplay evenings, not just PSN chat parties. I thnk the main thing to do is LINK your Discord account in the Linked Accounts settings on the PS4/5 first. Here's the full patch notes below: Version: 23.01-07.00.00 Main features in this system software update 1440p video output has been expanded on PS5. VRR (variable refresh rate) is now supported for 1440p resolution. More modes and HDMI devices are now supported. To check if your HDMI device supports this, go to Settings > Screen and Video > Video Output > Test 1440p Output. You can now transfer data between PS5 consoles. Easily transfer all of your PS5 data to another PS5. This process doesn't remove or modify your data on your original PS5. You can now join Discord voice chats on your PS5. Link your Discord account to your account for PlayStation Network. Use the Discord app on your mobile device or computer to get a Discord voice chat going on PS5. You can also let your Discord friends see when you’re online and what you’re playing. Voice Command now supports using your voice to save video clips of your gameplay. Say "Hey PlayStation, capture that!" to save a video clip of your recent gameplay. The default duration saved is based on your settings. You can also save a specific duration of your gameplay, from 15 seconds to 60 minutes. For example, to save 5 minutes, say "Hey PlayStation, capture the last 5 minutes". Say "Hey PlayStation, start recording" to manually start a new gameplay recording. You can then say "Hey PlayStation, stop recording" to end the recording and save the video clip. Currently, Voice Command (Preview) is only available in English for players with accounts for PlayStation Network in the US and UK. Other updated features The following improvements have been made to the screen reader feature. The screen reader now gives more detailed guidance when navigating the console. It will now tell you which direction you can move from the currently selected component, as well as your current position in a component with multiple items. When using the screen reader in the web browser, you'll now see borders around the section that's being read aloud. The screen reader was updated to correctly read aloud certain key terms. The following features have been added to game hubs: Every game will have a timer on the game hub tracking total time played. Game progress will also be displayed for games that have a maximum number of story activities. A Friends Who Play tile has been added. You can see which of your friends own the game and who is currently online. By selecting the tile, you can see what your friends are doing, and you can also access your friends' profiles where you'll be given more interaction options. The trophy tile has been moved and updated so it's easier to access and displays your trophy progress. Competitive multiplayer cards can be displayed in full screen. By selecting Start Activity, you'll be taken straight to that match. The prominent placement and size of the card makes an easy option for multiplayer. The following update has been made to the cross-play feature. In-game session cards of cross-play games, you can now see the members who are playing on other platforms. The following features have been added to Game Base. You can now send a Share Screen request or start sharing your screen with a friend, directly from their profile. Select the Share Screen icon on your friend's profile. You can also send a Share Screen request to your friend from PlayStation App. On the voice chat card, a joinable icon will be displayed for party members playing a game you can join. You can join the game directly by selecting the player, and then selecting Join Game from the menu. Friends that are active on PlayStation App will now show up as online on your friends list. We made the following improvement in game library: You can decide the default sort order for games within gamelists. Use filters in your library to easily find PS VR- and PS VR2-compatible games. The following settings have been added to game presets. You can set your preferences to manage who can join and who can invite other players to multiplayer sessions you've created for supported games. Go to Settings > Saved Data and Game/App Settings > Game Presets > Online Multiplayer Sessions, and select your preferences in Who Can Join and Who Can Invite. When downloading or installing a game, the way your saved data is checked has been changed. If it's a PS4 game and you have no saved data in console storage, you'll now be notified if PS4 saved data is available in cloud storage. If it's a PS5 game that can use PS4 saved data, and you have no saved data in console storage, you'll now be notified if PS4 saved data is available in cloud storage. To download your saved data from cloud storage, press the PS button to expand the notification, and then select Download PS4 Saved Data. You can now select which Media Gallery files to manually upload to Captures on PlayStation App. Existing content policies still apply. The following changes have been made to the on-screen keyboard. When you start entering characters, suggestions appear at the top of the on-screen keyboard. If you press the R1 button, instead of entering the first suggestion, you'll now just select it. To enter the selected suggestion, press the cross button. If you see learned suggestions that you want the console to forget, you can delete them from the options menu. (Only for Japanese keyboard) The suggestions that appear while entering characters are now shown in both half-width and full-width characters. Unicode 15.0 emoji can now be displayed. The time required for performing integrity checks on downloaded data has been greatly reduced. This process is done while the [Copying...] label is displayed on the downloaded item in the Downloads/Uploads control in the control centre. The way installed games are started has been changed. If your PS5 has the download version of a game that you haven't purchased (such as those that other users on your PS5 have purchased), and if you have the disc version, you can now play the installed download version by inserting the disc (without installing the disc version). Similarly, if you've installed a game using the disc, and you've purchased the download version of the game, you can now play the installed disc version of the game without inserting the disc. The hint system has been expanded to display a list of objectives if the game provides them. Select any objective to see a more detailed video or text hint. You can now view and manage your authorized apps in Settings. Authorized apps are third-party apps and services that you've linked your account for PlayStation Network to. When using an authorized app, you give permission to share your account data with that app. To view and manage your authorized apps, go to Settings > Users and Accounts > Authorized Apps. We've updated the device software for DualSense wireless controller, DualSense Edge wireless controller, and PlayStation VR2 Sense controllers. The update will improve stability. You can now update the DualSense wireless controller device software with a wireless connection. If you have trouble updating the device software wirelessly, connect your controller to your PS5 using the USB cable to update it. You'll be able to update wirelessly for the next update. DualSense Edge wireless controller and PlayStation VR2 Sense controllers already support wireless updates for the device software. This update isn't required for performing wireless updates for these controllers. The following issues or problems have been resolved. An error dialog message that gave misleading information referring to parental control restrictions when using the web browser was fixed. An update was made to address an issue causing some IPS LCD monitors to flicker when VRR (variable refresh rate) is turned on. This update may help solve this issue on these monitors.

I’ve been looking forward to this one so this news is disappointing. But, I’d rather they get it done right then rush it.

I'm going to start this one like so.. This game is friggin hard! Seriously, do not be fooled by the first stage. Yes, it's difficult, but the jump in difficulty between this and stage 2 (The Club) slides up to insane levels. Sifu is an action/rougelite/super hard game by sloclap in which you play as a young lad out to avenge his Fathers death at the hand of a group led by... The Leader. You'll fight, a lot, through various stages and the key to success is literally perfect timing with dodge/parry and the avoid system. Avoid is used by holding the L1/Lb and flicking the RS just before an enemy makes contact. Sounds easy but the window for this and parrying is really small and you will be hit.. and die... a lot. I've heard som copare the combat to the Arkham series and I will tell you now, that is a HARD NO. This feels nothing like the arkham games. I feel it has more in line with sloclaps previous game absolver then anything. Death is handled in that when you start the game, your age is 20. Whenever you die, a death counter appears and your age increases by how large the death counter is. after your first death, you'll age to 21, and so on. You can reset your counter by beating special enemies in a level as well as bosses. An interesting system that's limited by how you unlock skills. You can use XP earned to gain skill in a run. But, in order to unlock it permanently, you have to keep spending XP, a lot of XP, to get the permanent unlock. For example, a skill costs 500 XP to gain. Once bought, you them have to spend another 2500 XP on that same skill to unlock it. IMO, this sucks. I've been playing this since launch and when everything clicks and you get into a combat flow, it's great. The graphics have an old water color look to them that i don't really find that impressive but considering the story being told, it fits. Audio is ok i suppose. You'll get a lot of ambient sounds coming through the dual sense controller, like flies buzzing around a pile of garbage or walking over broken glass, and the dialogue is ok too. I don't know what it is with Sony and some of their exclusives lately being so difficult. Demons Souls, Returnal and now Sifu. If I'm trying to entice gamers to my platform with a nice, new game, I'd at least put in a difficulty option to make this more accessible to everyone and not limit it to a small select group of gamers. Basically, if you're a fan of souls games, rouge, rougelites, or just brutal, unforgivingly difficult games, then this is for you. I'd recommend to anyone else interested to wait until sloclap implement a difficulty option before giving it a go.

A tech demo is available now for free on PS5 and Xbox Series X. The full demo is below and it acts as a tease to the new film (Matrix Resurrections) coming out very soon and also to show off the ability of the next gen consoles. I initially thought it was a game and it very much looked like the old James Bond RPG games which could be pretty linear but also very enjoyable but now its not that i'm a little gutted truth be told. Who knows if the film gets a good reception they may decide to create a fully fledged game in the future. Let us know if you try it out.

This just dropped on Friday and man, insomniac has all their shit together! This game is gorgeous and plays like a dream. If you’ve played any of the previous R&C games then you should feel right at home. Aside from the new playable character, which is a welcome addition to the franchise IMO, the main “system” I guess we can call it is the rifts. There’s pocket rifts scattered about the game that have little traversal challenges for armor pieces as well as rifts you can grapple to in order to access unreachable areas or to make a quick getaway in battle situations. I’m really enjoying it and I’d say it’s worth a grab. Maybe not at the price it’s advertised at the moment. But this will more then likely be a PS Plus game in a year or two.

PlayStation 5: Sony reveals first details of next-gen console Sony has finally released the first details about its next PlayStation console. Gamers have been waiting patiently to find out any information about PS4's replacement, but until now details have been kept firmly under wraps. Now Sony's system architect Mark Cerny has released information about what the "next-gen console" will look like. In an interview with Wired, he reveals it will be much faster, more powerful and include improved audio. But don't expect to be able to buy one in 2019 - you'll have to wait until at least next year to see it on shelves. Below, we outline all the new details we know about the PlayStation 5 so far, as well as the questions we still want answered. Much faster loading times Good news for avid PlayStation users - the new console will include a high-speed solid-state hard drive (SSD). While that won't mean much to a lot of people, the point of the SSD is to dramatically reduce things like loading times - which will make everyone's gaming experience a bit better. For example, when playing Spider-Man on a PS4 it can take 15 seconds to fast travel between different locations. Cerny gave Wired a demonstration that showed the same task taking just 0.8 seconds on the new machine. "No matter how powered up you get as Spider-Man, you can never go any faster than this," he says about the PlayStation 4. "That's simply how fast we can get the data off the hard drive." Improved audio Another big focus for the next-gen console is 3D audio. Cerny tells Wired that as a gamer himself he was left frustrated that there wasn't much change in audio between PS3 and PS4. "With the next console the dream is to show how dramatically different the audio experience can be," he says. PS5 (which isn't the official name of the new console) will see gamers being immersed in audio from above, behind and from the side, according to Cerny, and will be experienced best through headphones. Enhanced visual experience The next PlayStation supports ray-tracing graphics - the first time a game console has ever managed graphics like it, Cerny says. They're usually used in Hollywood special effects, and occasionally in high-end processors. It means users of the next-gen PlayStation will receive much better, and more realistic, visuals. It's also worth noting that while the PS5 will have all of these improvements, you don't need to worry about compatibility with PS4 games. The new console will still take physical discs, and gamers can still play PlayStation 4 games on the new console. What we don't know All the details that have been released so far are about hardware. We still don't know: When it will be released - although Cerny says it won't be this year, so don't expect to get your hands on one in 2019. How much it will cost. The name of the console. It's already being dubbed the PlayStation 5, but Cerny hasn't confirmed its official name - yet. Source: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/newsbeat-47953213
