  1. I. Love. This. Game.
  2. Absolutely man. There are some very cool storylines in the game, which could make for a great movie. I'd go see it
  3. Do any of you guys watch the LoL cinematic videos? I've always enjoyed them. They're very well done and seem to stick true to the champions and their storyline. Here's the newest one...
  4. ^ LOL, that's one way to do it.
  5. I'm not supporting kill whoring, K/D minded people, or anything like that. I just don't want the stat removed because it's one more piece of the puzzle that tells me a little something about the player. I love SPM. I wish it was more heavily emphasized.
  6. SPM is game mode dependent. So, you're overall SPM isn't going to tell you anything. If I play a mix of DOM, TDM, and SPM, my overall SPM will mean absolutely nothing. I would care if someone had 30 kills and no caps. Most likely, it would make it easy as hell for me and the rest of my team to cap the flags. If everyone is dead because some guy is killing everyone, I'm going to cap flags effortlessly. You can't guarantee that if someone is going 5-30 with a bunch of caps that he's shooting down kill streaks. Not to mention, he cant' have a "shit ton of defends" because he only had 5 kills Get back to vacation, that sun is clearly baking your brain.
  7. I disagree. I think that K/D should be a tracked stat. Is it the tell all of stats... nope, but it definitely provides SOME indication of skill. TDM is obvious, but even game modes like DOM it can still be important. If someone goes 5-30 with a bunch of caps, he can still be liability to the team by giving the other team a bunch of kill streaks. I don't want someone on my team dying over and over by mindlessly trying to jump on a flag. I want people who cap flag, get kills, and don't die over and over. If we only tracked caps/defends/spm, that wouldn't tell the whole story either. Someone might have a ton of caps, but like I said, if they're giving up kill streak after kill streak, he might be the reason the team lost. I think we need ALL the stats to paint a more full picture. We can tell who was kill whoring and who was playing the objective by looking at the scoreboard at the end. Hell, sometimes it's valuable to have one person kill whoring while the other 5 guys play the OBJ. He provides cover, distraction to the other team, etc. If it's coordinated that way, it can be valuable. There will always be people trying to abuse the system no matter which system you implement. Whatever the new hot stat is, that's the one people will find a way to abuse. I'd rather have ALL the stats so I can see for myself what someone was doing.
  8. It seems that a majority of the forum will be playing it this fall, so I'd definitely recommend buying it. It feels like it's going to be the game that we've all been waiting for on the PS4.
  9. ^ yup, all that!
  10. Bummer! Thanks for the heads up though.
  11. I loooove this game so far. Appears to be down for maintenance right now. Looking forward to playing more later.
  12. I'm a Cowboys fan as well. I think the offense could be top tier if Jason Garrett would get his head out of his ass and run the ball more consistently. But, even if they do, like you said, the defense is a mess. They will have to win every game 35-34 if they want a decent season.

    FPS Maps

So, I was browsing Reddit and found an interesting thread talking about FPS games and their multiplayer maps. The thread can be found here. "As "realistic" shooters continue to trend, I find that they all share one aspect that stifles its intentions. In this particular example I was playing Insurgency, which is a quasi-realistic shooter running on the source engine. I have a very hard time competing on some of the maps because since it's a one life per round sort of thing (at least in some game modes) involving capturing points, the players that know the map they are playing in and know all the convenient corners and vantage points have an edge. I realized that has simply been the story of every FPS ever, map awareness is a huge factor especially when the game is very unforgiving in terms of damage and realism. What would be great if there was a realism-focused FPS that put two teams against each other on a randomly or procedurally generated map, so that every match involves the unknown of where the enemies might be hiding. Aside from the new challenge of every room being an unknown, it would then prompt the use and/or implementation of gear is otherwise used in the same fashion every round. Now you wont have 10 frag grenades being thrown into the main conflict room. You wont have flashbangs being tossed around the same corner every match. You'll have to listen, communicate, and decide what room should be breached with a bang and what areas should be traversed in silence. I think perhaps one of the biggest issues would be making it work. It's hard to imagine how you could make procedurally generated CQB style maps that would be interesting and detailed. What do you think, should an FPS try and give us a fresh experience every match, to keep us on our toes?" I'm not sure how I feel about the topic. I see can points for both sides. I would love to eliminate the commonly used camping spots, spawn grenade toss places, etc., but on the other hand, there's a skill in learning the maps/spawns/etc. Do you guys think that this could be the future in FPS maps? Or do you think people would always choose the tried method of standard maps that can be memorized? Thoughts?
  14. I'll try to try one out this week sometime. But, even if I like it, I'm going to pretend I didn't... I hate being wrong.
  15. I just don't get it. I don't get the appeal in them. They seem soooo boring.
  16. ^ I don't think I've ever played a simulator game. What's the appeal?
  17. ^ Rayman Legends is a pretty cool game.

  19. Nice! Thanks man. LoL might not be your favorite game, but it's definitely a popular one, so it could help bring in new members.
  20. Get some rest and come at it fresh tomorrow.
  21. "Hey Summoners, Welcome to patch 4.12! With only a few patches between now and the League of Legends World Championships, our focus is on the competitive scene and the things we can do to ensure the landscape is diverse and healthy. Part of how we're accomplishing this goal is to look at champions who are skewing champion select in one way or another while also looking to healthy "almost there" champions, like Alistar or Ahri. For either side (strong or weak champions), our main philosophy is to look for strengths to highlight while also emphasizing weaknesses. This ensures a champ can hold onto their strategic value while still having meaningful tradeoffs. You'll also hear me repeat this many times. Too bad. For you Twisted Treeline fans, we've got two item overhauls with Grez's Spectral Lantern and The Lightbringer (they're now two separate item lines with different functionality), so be sure to read up before hopping into your 3s game. Final thing: we'll also be shipping jungle timers with patch 4.12! Read just below for a rundown on those but, as part of our focus on gameplay clarity, we want to ensure that the right skills are being rewarded in League of Legends. In the case of jungle timers, we want to focus on the meaningful choices you make with the information you've earned, rather than the quick arithmetic you can do with the clock. Also be sure to read our dev blog on Clarity for more philosophy! And that's it for now! Read up on the changes below, and we'll see you next patch!" You can read the details here.
  22. Good stuff man. Let me know if you need me to do anything.
  23. Yeah, I was launching it through steam. I don't know what causes that problem either, but I read the ipconfig dnsflush thing on a forum, tried it, and it worked. *shoulder shrug* No, I didn't know that it had a jet pack. That's awesome. There have been times I could have used it, lol. Thanks. I've tried the Heavy Assault as well, it's probably my second most used class. I like it as well. I'll give it a try a little more tonight.
  24. I'm making Pork Adobo for dinner tonight.
  25. /flushdns fixed it.
