A typical router can do 54 Mbps, while most internet connection can do 50 Mbps (max). So the router is actually faster than the internet connection, therefore being wireless has no impact.

Seriously, I've been playing BF3 on the PC as well as the PS3. The graphics already don't compare to a PS3. They are much much better but the keyboard + Mouse learning curve can be pretty hard with all these pros that only play on PC

It could be it is over heating

 

Try turning on Vsync if it is off. That will force the card to operate at 60 FPS if it's operating higher. I have a 7850 also and my card runs way hotter when Vsync is not on (since it runs about 150 FPS). 

 

Are you over clocking or doing any other performance enhancements with the card? Turn them off and see. 

 

Is there a performance monitor for you card? My ASUS card came with one and will monitor temp/voltage/clocking. Try that if you have it. It should be able to tell you if you go out of spec and that causes the problem.

 

Those would be the obvious. 

 

You can also try an application called fraps. Turn that on and it will tell you how many FPS the game is running at. If it's low then what I've said may not apply. 

 

Some games also get the CPU to do a lot of work rather than use the GPU engine. They don't optimize the GPU. That could also be causing problems because the CPU is running too hot. Does you CPU have a FAN or just a heat sink (piece on metal without fan) on it?  

 

I got Crysis 2 as part of the humble bundle but haven't even downloaded it. I played 1 and 3. Not 2. I'll give it a try if I get a chance on my system and see how it reacts.

The Co-op mode does that for me. The others do not. Try a quick match to see if it happens. I was playing yesterday without problems. Try playing a popular mode like TDM, conquest or DOM to see if it's a server (lack of available). Also pick all NA servers to get one. I noticed that I end up in Europe servers a lot because of lack of available servers lately depending on mode.

- Go max stealth and get a good knife. People will actually run into you and not see you. I makes looting dungeons easy.

 

- Go to the college and get that free room. Let's you drop off you stuff somewhere without having to buy a house

[BF3]

I've been playing on the PC and the PS3. I started on the PC about a week ago and I'm level 6 I believe. I"m a level 44 on the PS3.

 

Being a lower level is a completely different experience because your kit will be crap. Getting use to the keyboard + mouse is also a challenge. I've been playing assault and now that I have the M416 it's a bit better since that gun is pretty darn good. I tend to play Conquest, Conquest DOM and TDM.

 

Mark is right about the M27 and M16, however that means you have to play the american faction which you probably won't 50% of the time. 

 

If you want to level well and get to decent guns, play TDM or conquest DOM and use the shotguns which you should have almost immediately and you can use with any kit. Then get to the UMP which is pretty fantastic and you can use with any kit. Play assault or support and spam your medic kit or ammo to get points to level up. I find that ammo gets you more points because even the best of teams will need ammo. 

 

There are a lot of people just screwing around also because they know BF4 is coming and maxed out BF3.

 

So don't get discouraged with the game if you are just starting now.

 

I know I'll be getting BF4 over COD. I just don't know for which platform yet. I Find BF3 a hell of a lot more fun the COD at the moment. Perhaps it's servers or having the different abilities but at least the game plays well for me. I can live with my own inabilities but constantly getting screwed over by lag just drives me nuts.
