  1. Chookes i challenge you to a race. not because i think i have a chance, but because you will straight up beat me. if there is something on the course to crash into, i will find it and crash. that's how my races go.
  2. hahahaha i think it's just "Falcon," dude. first black super-hero in comics, tho. yeah i can't wait for Bucky. in the First Avenger i was already thinking to myself, "this actor looks like he'd make a great villain, wonder if they'll do a Winter Soldier tie-in eventually." catching the shield at the end like a bosssssssss.
  3. pooped my pants. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S6qD-Io2l1Y things look much better when they're not set in the 40's i think.
  4. oh right this guy. i might be fucking up history, but i really could've sworn there was a post early on about how Diddums didn't want to be told who he could and couldn't rip into when he felt like it. i could find it, except . . . lazy. that's not really my style or why i came over eventually, but at least the guy gives a shit about us. that's what sold me. thanks for giving a shit, Diddums. probably don't say that enough.
  5. alright how can i be mad at this. it's both a compliment to me, and self-deprecating to you. we're good man. well-played.
  6. i dunno . . . i think what you're trying to avoid is having issues between members affect other members who have nothing to do with it. you have guys like Mike who don't want to read it (obviously he's not the only one, just an example from this thread), so their activity-level goes down. that's bad (although i bet you could make an argument that this shit boosts traffic a little too, but whatever). issues happen. no amount of policing will prevent that. what we can prevent is spillage into the forum-at-large that taints the experience for everyone else. spillage has consequences for other forum members who don't want to be subjected to it, so spillage should also have consequences for the culprits (temp bans, whatever). settle it in PM and then either use ignore or don't use ignore. done?
  7. unless my memory's hazy, i'm pretty sure the whole point of the new forum was to have a place for Diddums (and Co.) to say whatever they wanted to whoever they wanted to. so, kinda like the exact opposite of playing nice. (i'm cool with "nice," just making sure no one's rewriting history here.)
  8. the problem on the old forum wasn't censorship, it was basically one dude who wasn't kept on a short enough leash (but who ultimately meant well . . . kind of a shame). i liked the rules about civility then, but i'm also enjoying calling people on bullshit when they're being bullshitty now. and problems still come up, rules or no rules. we've seen that. if you want to set up a system where you're saying if you do _____ then your punishment will be _______, i say go for it, couldn't hurt. that said, i think a lot of people migrated because they didn't want a babysitter, and you were one of them. for my part, i'm happy to keep disagreements and issues in PM. where they belong. where they don't bother anyone else.
  9. i killed Sebba over the weekend. i'm sorry Sebba. i pretty much only play in random lobbies, and while i don't look for trouble, at this point it's just instinct to shoot first and think later if another player rolls up on me. didn't realize it was you until the killfeed. my bad brah. [sidenote: i spent a solid hour in the same lobby killing the two randoms who were gunning for you before you left -- i'd tried to make it over to help, but you were gone, so i just turned my attention to them. my KDR probably hates it but i think 2v1 situations can be fun, so i've been known to instigate those.]
  10. odd. as others have said as well, just before i bought my apartment and had a large bankroll the death penalties were around $5K. maybe there's an income bracket system.
  11. i've read that it's not necessarily a fixed amount that gets deducted for all players across the board -- rather, you lose a certain percentage of your money with each death, so people are always losing different amounts at different times. mo money mo problems.
  12. so i know this stuff is personal, but i really dug your post Drifter and i'm wondering what, if anything, your family/friends did or could have done to reach out to Young Rascally Drifter twenty years ago. might be helpful (not just for Sennex, but everyone). or maybe what you're saying here is that, yes, sometimes some people can't be helped, but that said, it's not impossible for people to eventually help themselves (and in case that happens, you don't want to have completely burned bridges)?
  13. i have nothing constructive to offer, i just enjoy listening to The Men drop sage wisdom amongst themselves. (except that McNasty's computer chip would have to be gender-neutral -- being a fuck-up is an equal opportunity occupation. god i'm so PC it's annoying even to me.)
  14. it's too bad there's not a way to 'drop' bundles of cash. that would make for a pretty sweet montage vid: one guy receives his stimulus deposit and proceeds to just drop cash everywhere across Los Santos. like an urban, morally-bankrupt Johnny Appleseed.
  15. so you guys might already know this but i'm putting it out there because i thought it was pretty cool. not sure how much it has to do with your own Level, but if you do Quickjob Missions there's a chance you could get paired up with a Level 27+ and do a mission called Base Invaders. i did it twice last night, both times with three other randoms, and earned $25K. EACH TIME. for reference, the lowest ranked guy we had was a 5 and the highest was a 28, so it seems like regardless of your level the odds are decent that you could get put into one of these lobbies. bought a garage. the mission is pretty fun too, i recommend.
  16. should've gone with, "Chief or i'm out, bitch." (seriously tho, if you hadn't been clear then they might've assigned you to something you didn't want. i'd say it's ultimately best for everyone if they put people where they actually want to be.) i stepped on my dick once. damn semis.
  17. I'M IN THE CREWWWWWWWWW. now what? do i have to try out? (i didn't. like at all. oops. i think i just got an invite from somebody.) dude did we randomly get put into a Mission lobby together over the weekend? that was wild!
  18. got it. Qualified professional answer: vag sand.
  19. Dear Cal, You know that thing where girls tell you about a problem, and then you want to help by coming up with advice and shit, but they get really mad because actually they wanted you to share in their misery instead of trying to solve it. Just why? Thanks, All Men, Ever
