Hmm bit late in the day http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-29142975 Unless there's plans for Minecraft 2; not the most sensible of acquisitions seeing that sales are practically maxed on all the systems and there's not much money left to be made. It's an amazing brand but only viable for MS if they continue it with a sequel. Terrible news for the majority of gamers though and probably the game itself as they'll make it exclusive and probably have a ton of DLC for any future editions. The unique thing about the game is that's it is accessible to people of all ages from PC, to phones, to tablets to consoles old and current gen, it's laden with content and is like a virtual lego creative tool for younger people and gamers alike. I can really see Microsoft ruining all of that for the sake of money.

Definitely bad news for Minecraft. The exclusivity will kill this game. I'm sure there will still be an underground old school Minecraft crowd that will continue with its own updates, but Minecraft moving forward... it's going to be limited by Microsoft.

Love it even more so than the Beta. Atmosphere, gameplay, connection etc.. all feel spot on. However i am concerened about the longevity of the free content. One major point of this game for me was going to be the regular new free content. But i'm not going to bitch about it until i've got all 3 slots to max level and all content explored which i imagine will take quite a while. Also the 1st raid will be out next week so that is the holy grail at the moment. Hopefully this will be a massive addition but difficult to say as nobody really knows about what will be involved

My first impression is the same as it was from the alpha: it's great. I love the mechanics, the atmosphere is great, and the graphics are beautiful. Even just exploring is fun, and there's a lot to explore. I can see how it will get boring after a while, because even with new missions being added you can only go over the same ground so many times. I expect a good number of expansions though, so the lifespan of the game should still be quite good.
