phil bottle 9,940
I've been watching this on Netflix. Very weird so far but enjoyable, despite that plank from Hollyoakes as the main character. phil bottle 9,940
Fuck me this series is weird. Still can't get over Calvin from Holyoakes (my missus watches that shit ok) with an American accent.Ian McShane is a joy to watch as always.Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk Rumelylady 1 Link to comment https://forevergaming.co.uk/forum/forums/topic/4476-american-gods/#findComment-90389 Share on other sites
Drifter 851
I have seen the name on the cable guide and almost watched it a few times but haven't yet. I might check it out soon though. Even though it's weird is it a decent show? Just started this year correct? Rumelylady 188
In episode three, that bank... that was filmed downtown Guelph, about 5 minutes from our house. Chad and I got a bit excited when we heard about that. We both loved the book, but are waiting until after the last episode comes out before we binge it. I'm was a little surprised that there's going to be a second season, seeing as it's a single book. However, after reading the episode synopses it doesn't seem like they'll be getting through the whole of the book in one season. Dark Horse is also publishing a comic of American Gods. So many ways to consume it, which is somewhat ironic considering the New Gods... phil bottle 9,940
I like it so far but it's one of those where I hope it is actually going somewhere because I have to keep stopping and explaining to Mina what's going on and I may not even be on the right track myself. What I'm getting so far is that the gods are only around and powerful according to the amount of people who believe in them. That's nothing new in itself. So the old gods are having a hard time of it. I imagine the new gods are a metaphor for modern society and its worship of things material etc etc Beyond that....it's funny in parts, violent in others and unpredictable, which is all good for me.
