Despite having been available digitally for a month Dying Light has gone straight in at number one, followed by Dragon Ball XenoVerse.

Although it’s been available as a digital download for over a month now (thanks to a distribution snafu) the retail release of Dying Light still managed to debut at number one in both UK charts, immediately knocking The Order: 1886 from its perch.

There’s no indication of how well Dying Light did compared to developer Techland’s Dead Island series, but Chart-Track do note that it’s the third week in a row that a brand new IP (i.e. not a sequel or licensed game) has been at number one. The PlayStation 4 was the best-selling version, with 57 per cent of all sales, followed by the Xbox One on 40 per cent and the PC on 3 per cent.

The Order: 1886 saw sales fall by 56 per cent in its second week, which is perfectly normal for any new title, and in the individual formats chart stayed ahead of the week’s other major new entry: Dragon Ball XenoVerse.

Despite this XenoVerse still recorded the best first week sales ever for a Dragon Ball title in the UK, with the PlayStation 4 version again the best-seller on 50 per cent. The Xbox One version accounted for 32 per cent of sales and the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 just 9 per cent each.
