Galactic Civilization 3

I just picked up this strategy game from steam. It's still in beta testing but looks promising. It's on sale for 29.99 and looks like it will be a beautiful game. I'll post more about this when I play it tonight.

Anyone else play it?

First impression:

My first game was pretty overwhelming. It is basically just take playing your first game of civilization 5. You don't know what everything means and there's a lot of little buttons and diddly doos to click on. Lots of coming soon buttons. Nonetheless, it plays like a space age Civilizations game would. Huge maps, artifacts, buildings to construct, and etc.

What was a little dull is that I played about 35 minutes and there's no other sign of life. It felt like I was alone in the universe. Although I did select a huge map and only had about 4 other players.

There are many planets you can colonize. Huge areas to explore. For a beta, this game is worth checking out.

Was tempted to get this for half price but I'm heavily engrossed in Homeworld Remastered at the minute which is the king of space RTS games for me, so I decided to give it a miss. Does look interesting though!
