Freezes

My Xbox freezes alot when I play older games, anyone else having the same problem I have the Kinect ready Xbox 360.

My Xbox only freezees when playing EA games online (but this issue is crossplatform) and randomly when using Internet Explorer while surfing dA and these forums.

What games do they freeze on?

Do you install the games onto your hard drive? I had problems with games freezing but since I started installing I rarely have freezes.

I get slow down in some games.

Some examples are the two Fallout games, Dark Souls, Mass Effect, and Darksiders II(might just be the games).

My 360 isn't old, I actually got it around March.

 

As for freezing, have you tried checking your older games for dust or scratches? Does it happen for all older games, or just a few?

Try clearing your hard drive's cache.

>Go to System Settings

>Select Storage

>Highlight your hard drive

>Press the Y button

>Select Clear System Cache (repeat 3 times)

This wont effect anything at all on your hard drive, so dont worry.

RROD in 3...2..1.

 

Thats what started happening to my old 360. It couldn't play a game without freezing and wouldn't RROD so I dropped it from a small distance and got it to RROD. That is when repair was free though...

 

Edit: even though you have a newer 360 its still a piece of shit. That is all.
