phil bottle 10,037
A book I first read as a student in the 90s. My mate Chris did his final year dissertation on Noam Chomsky, it was the first I had ever heard of him. Blew me away. I've read a lot his work since. Check out: http://www.chomsky.info/ He backs up everything he says, often directly quoting the media itself. His political analyses to this day stand up to the most intense scrutiny. Often his critics resort to personal and/or crass jibes. The left wing press are condescending to him funnily enough while the right wing press (see the Financial Times) show begrudging respect. Thought I'd share with you, he's pretty damned old now but if you check out YouTube he's still a destroyer of ill-informed interviewers. There's a video version of Manufacturing Consent on YouTube too. It's kind of dated now but the issues are still relevant. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RO51ahW9JlE Link to comment https://forevergaming.co.uk/forum/forums/topic/1991-manufacturing-consent-the-political-economy-of-the-mass-media/ Share on other sites
