Glad it's not going to Google though - they seem to own a piece of everything these days. They will probably be looking to expand their streaming on YouTube instead. $970,000,000 is a hell of a whack but could prove a popular move for Amazon in the long run. I think it will continue as normal with the public free streams but Amazon will probably add their own TV and movie streams on there too which may require a fee or subscription.
