BO7H B4RRELS 2,452
My Samsung drive has been working like a charm. I love it. Amazing upgrade for a PC. Now... I want to buy another SSD for my laptop. I've heard that Kingston SSD's are trash. Anyone have any opinions on SanDisk brand ones? Sennex 1,903
IDK man, never looked into them until yesterday Luke 23:34 'And Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they don't think it be like it is, but it do." BO7H B4RRELS 2,452
What's the best program (free) to clone/transfer files from one SSD to another? I have the Samsung program that came with my Samsung drive (128 GB), but now I have a Crucial M500 (500 GB). I want to transfer everything from the Samsung to the Crucial. Can I just use the Samsung program or is there a better option out there? I also want to put the Samsung into a laptop. If Windows is installed on the Samsung already, can I just stick it in and it will work w/ the laptop, or do I need to wipe it and reinstall windows? Sennex 1,903
I used to have a "Ghost" program that did this, it was super small, basically it just made a mirror image. Let me see if I can find the name of it when I get home. I think I know what thumb drive its on. Hell the program may have been called Ghost LOL Luke 23:34 'And Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they don't think it be like it is, but it do." Plumbers Crack 4,059
I don't know a lot about it Tommy but IIRR Windows OEM are tied to the mobo but retail Windows are not - that's one of the reasons OEM Win are cheaper than retail. Perhaps Bart or Dave can confirm that? Diddums 4,346
Samsung's tool is excellent, if it'll work. Failing that, use this http://www.macrium.com/reflectfree.aspx Link to comment https://forevergaming.co.uk/forum/forums/topic/1593-ssd/page/2/#findComment-49984 Share on other sites
