Totally understandable Gary, I've definitely been playing less myself. 

I try do the events, weekly challenges and any new guns that drop. 

Some of the calling card ones as well, as they might have more obscure challenges or things I don't normally use.

Probably a wise move, however the walls seem like paper on that map. 

I reckon I could wall bang people from outside, through the house and back outside. 

If I learned the map more, I'm sure I could hit a few dirty angles.

The Rival 9 is just consistent. However I do enjoy some of the other SMG's. 

The swarm is good.

I also love the AMR9, for some reason I do alright with it.

I’m enjoying the HRM-9 currently. 

 

I've just finished my camo grind. 

But I usually have a few favourite classes sitting about. 

 

BAS-B, Rival 9, SVA. 

There are others, but those are the main 3 imo.

@Luseth I just went in a private game with bots to test a few out.

 

The best 3 with a 2.5x zoom are. 

1-FSS Spectre Microtherm

2-SZ Holotherm 

3-TOS Nightfall 2.5x Thermal Optic

 

All work with smoke really well. 

1 and 3 are the most clearest. I don't like the reticle 3 comes with. It has that Draganov kinda cluttered lines on it, a bit like a measuring jug with markers etc. 

I picked the microtherm number 1, for me personally it's the best. 

 

They only slightly affect ads. 

The other options are all 5.5x and over.

They will give you Sniper glint, even slower ads penalties and also a slower aim walking move speed.

Yeah there are a few that really don't help with smoke for some reason. 

It almost goes cloudy, sounds like bad design. 

 

Altho some of the Thermal scopes really go weird through windows and glass. 

If the glass isn't broken you literally can't see a thing. Regardless of smoke. 

 

I take it you want a shorter scope? 

Yeah some are hybrids and you can toggle with a normal scope as well. 

Like a dual scope kinda deal. 

 

I'm sure there is a schlager one that sucks ass. 

I assume the main criteria is on an AR with working smoke, and not too slow or rangey or too much glint. 

 

It's got to be a 2.5x, 3.5 or 4.

Also sounds like the Holotherm one you had. 

I used it on the Desert Eagle on MW2 for laughs. It was actually really good.

Yeah I could see it being better in semi auto. I was going to try it, but there was a challenge for full auto kills and I forgot. 

 

I was still pulling triples (on Shipment) with the 20 round mag. 

 

It just has nothing going for it, slow handling, fire rate, weird recoil. Damage felt terrible as well. 

 

But yeah the attachments made it a bit better. 

 

It feels like an M1 Garrand on full auto. 😂

I've used most of the Thermal sights from MW2, which carry over to MW3. 

Some are really good, depends on the zoom you want. 

A short 2.5x, 4.0x, 5.5x, 6 or 7 etc. 

 

Remember the bigger the zoom, the bigger the glint. 

 

I used Thermal for most of my longshots for Orion camo. 

1000+ longshots or something, can't remember but it was a lot. 

 

Some of the best ones were.

SZ Holotherm (for shorter ranges). 

Drexsom Prime 90, Teplo-OP 3.

 

There are others I can't remember the name. If I see any when I'm next on I will recommend. 

 

Avoid the ones with a white lens, they tend to be harder to see especially with smoke. 

Always go for the greenish/orangey ones. 

 

If you go for a 2.5x Thermal you won't get a glint. 

I think it's under 3.5x won't give you any. 

But you obviously won't get the range potential.

Congrats Gary, I'm still doing golds and forged ones. 

 

Was doing the Sidewinder recently, still not gold. 

Probably the worst gun in the game, the stinger Pistol is a bit rubbish as well. 

 

How much gametime did it take you Gary?

Yeah there is definitely a pair of boots that help. Not got there yet, but heard it helps.

Tbh with all the active double xp it's easy to rank stuff up at the moment.

 

Sounds pretty easy, your almost on the home straight. 

 

Yeah very true, double XP is always nuts for leveling guns.

I've been playing meat until Shipment comes back. 

I like the maps, but sorry to say the spawns are worse on meat. 

More specifically hardpoint, I probably have footage of the ludicrous spawns on meat.

When Shipment was available, I was doing 2 guns a game on core and I didn't even change any attachments for tac spread, hipfire etc.

Yeah I totally agree, I liked the ghost of the last few years. It was balanced and rewarded fast gunplay. 

Also meant you couldn't play like an absolute rat. 

 

I see it as the vest will be the old ghost OG MW2-BO2 (the golden era). 

There was nothing wrong with those games. 

 

However with the current average cod player yer skill + Sbmm etc. 

It will be punishing. 

 

For some folk, playing like a goblin is the only way they can get kills. 

It panders to that player retention that Activision strives for. 

If people can't win gunfights they will quit, Daddy Activision can't have people quitting the game incase they might buy a store bundle. 

 

Funny thing is Sbmm is actually having the reverse effect, it's stopping people from playing and/or buying the game. 

 

Also think I saw a Sam Turret once so far. Nobody uses it in my lobbies.

Tbh I've seen virtually no Sam turrets and massive UAV spam due to the killstreaks being awful.

 

I've also seen all the maps, but definitely at the moment rustment is definitely drawing the few people who actually play to that playlist.

 

However the assassin vest is something that was definitely not needed in the game. 

 

 

There has always been a similar variation in every cod. 

The ghost on this game is very strict, even stopping to reload makes you ping up. 

Even moving doesn't always keep you off the radar, the current ghost only works when moving forward. 

You have to be going a reasonable speed as well. 

 

I get where your coming from, but doesn't matter if the new vest is in the game or not. People are always going to camp. 

Granted the assassin's vest will only enhance the campers skill. 

 

If someone is proper camping a building, there are tools like grenades and drill charges etc to stop them. 

If that doesn't work I will dump 100 rounds of LMG and wallbang.

If they are sniping and I die a couple of times, I will pull out my own sniper.

You lose field upgrades when using it. 

 

But that new vest is a campers wet dream.
