  1. Interesting read here. I wonder how long it will last though. Thoughts? EA Pledges Total Freedom For Studios With Game Development, Including Dragon Age, Titanfall, And More WWW.GAMEINFORMER.COM In recent years, there has been a massive disconnect between EA and gamers and with so many...
  2. EA has acquired Titanfall 2 developer Respawn Entertainment in a sensational deal worth close to $500 million depending on performance targets hit by Respawn. For that, read ‘Metacritic scores’. “We’ve seen firsthand the world-class calibre of Respawn as a development studio with incredible vision, deep talent and an inspiring creative mindset,” says Andrew Wilson, CEO of EA. “Our longtime partnership is grounded in a shared desire to push the boundaries and deliver extraordinary and innovative new experiences for players around the world. Together, we’ve brought this to life in the Titanfall franchise, and now with the Respawn team joining EA, we have exciting plans to accomplish even more amazing things in the future.” Respawn said it’s similarly pleased with the outcome of the deal. “While it wasn’t necessary, going with EA made a lot of sense,” said Respawn founder Vince Zampella. “With Titanfall and Star Wars, EA has been a great development partner that supports us and doesn’t interfere with our process for making games or studio culture. EA will provide us with more resources, access to new technologies, and expertise that we can tap into to that will help us make better games, and Respawn will retain the same creative freedom and culture we’ve always had. We’ve been talking closely with the leadership at EA and we share their values and vision for the future of being a developer-focused company that puts the players first.” I’m sure there will be many an eye roll at that last comment in particular.
  3. The 6th free DLC is dropping in a few days for Titanfall 2. Here's the details from the EA statement: Map: War Games – Pilots on the Frontier frequently use simulator pods to train, using life-like recreations of historical battles as combat scenarios. War Games highlights the civilian shops, tall buildings for window-to-window fighting, and city streets for Titan combat from the Battle of Angel City, and the large, open tank garage facilities for hand-to-hand Pilot combat from the Battle of Airbase Sierra. The outskirts of the map feature a clean, VR style perfect for Titan duels, while Pilots are often found running along the bright, interconnected wallrunning routes. Live Fire Map: Traffic –A weathered test site where pilot positioning is pitted against mobility across two busy thoroughfares. Dense cover makes every corner a threat, with room for snipers to hide in the back fields. New Execution: Shadow Boxing [Holo Pilot] Get 20 pilot kills while a holopilot ability is active (Both normal holopilot and boost ability holopilot nova count.) Does not retroactively count. 3rd Weapon Slot for Pilots – You will now be able to equip a primary, secondary, and anti-titan weapon. Titan Brawl will be added to the permanent list of game modes. Titan damage will be displayed instead of assists. New Featured Mode: Free Agents Additional details for balance changes, features, and updates will be provided in the patch notes closer to launch.

  5. Everytime I read TF2 news I feel I need to play more of this solid game. An update from respawn shared the following: Here’s a look at what we will be releasing over the next few months for Titanfall 2. Between April and June, we are confirming that we’ll be releasing: 2 more general multiplayer maps 2 more Live Fire Maps A new Titan Two more purchasable Prime Titans: Ronin and Tone. We’ll let you folks speculate as to what else we could be working on… That’s not all we have in store; we’ll be continuing to support Titanfall 2 for months to come with awesome content, free trials, and more. In addition to the new content, we’ve also got some updates to Titanfall 2 in the works. Today we can confirm that between April and June you can expect to see: Gen cap increase to 100 Expanded Private Match settings including the addition of Live Fire and Coliseum to the selectable modes A new Faction Marked for Death game mode More Pilot executions Addition refinements to matchmaking like estimated wait time and more More purchasable camos, skins, etc. from the store Nice to finally see some decent free updates to a game, especially this one. A couple of maps for Live Fire is a definite plus as this is one of the best modes this game has.
  6. This is just plain strange to me. It was first thought that to access the whole Multiplayer mode early, go to the Buffalo Wings restaurant and they'll give you tickets for eating there. EA have clarified the situation that eating wings won't get early access, as you can get tickets simply by playing the game however you can pick up additional tickets from Buffalo Wings - so in effect you can probably play it slightly earlier for a plate of wings. I bet the healthkick organisations will have a field day with this.
  7. …The Titan fell is what happened. The amount of buzz and hype behind Titanfall (dubbed “The COD Killer”) prior to launch was off the charts. Critics everywhere were saying it was a game changer and game of the year, and initially we agreed with them. We fell for the hype and were big fans of the game and even started TitanfallBlog.com. We were present for the reveal at the Microsoft press conference last year, saw a demo at E3 and even went hands on with it at Gamescom, Eurogamer and at community events. Titanfall made a GREAT first impression, and it still does. It wasn’t until about a week after launch did we realize it might not have enough steam to keep the hypetrain going, and we’re starting to think we were right. It’s been nearly 2 months now since launch and judging by fan feedback on Twitter and through the web site, we’re hearing a lot of the same complaints which is what we think is the reason behind it’s downfall and coincidently, the reason behind Call of Duty’s success… 1) Guns and unlocks This is by far the biggest complaint we have for Titanfall and the most common one we read about. 1 sniper rifle and 1 shotgun is unacceptable in this day and age when games like Call of Duty and Battlefield have 5+ to select from for each class. That feeling of “gotta reach level 40 to unlock that new sniper rifle” or “1 more kill for that new camo” are gone. Why should I keep grinding? 2) No Traditional Campaign Titanfall’s MP campaign was a huge gamble that unfortunately didn’t pay off. Gone are the “Oh shit” moments, instead you can beat the campaign by camping and just waiting for the match to end. Respawn even admitted in “Final Hours of Titanfall” that the MP Campaign design was chosen so they wouldn’t delay the game. 3) AI Bots We know they were added with inexperienced players in mind, in addition to the maps needing to be large enough for Titans so you would need more things to shoot at, but I think we can all agree that the AI minions in Titanfall might as well be paper targets. Im not even sure how anyone could market them as “AI” seeing as how stupid they are. Theres no fun (and honor) in shooting something that doesn’t know how to shoot back at you. 4) Auto-Titan enabled because Titans are no fun The game, marketing, and story all revolve around Titans… yet no one wants to play as a Titan which is evident when every Titan in a match is set to auto-Titan. They looked cool and fun in the trailer but all they do is manage to prevent you from your next wall run (which is the coolest part of the game). These are in no particular order either. All 4 points were major in our opinion that contributed to Titanfall’s fall from grace. Don’t get me wrong, we still play Titanfall from time to time but it clearly didn’t turn out to be the game we thought it would be… Let us know about your experience in the comments below. http://www.charlieintel.com/2014/05/09/what-happened-to-titanfall-aka-the-cod-killer/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=facebook
  8. Hello guys! So I've been a member for well over a month now, and I thought I made an introduction post but now I think I realized I didn't. Anyhow, I am a 20 year old consistent gamer on Xbox 360 and the Xbox One. I play a variety of games from Call of Duty, to Minecraft, to Titanfall.
