  1. Yep, I love my recon even more now. It's also brilliant that C4 is default, you don't have to dpens hours grinding to get it.

I still need to work on my aggressive sniping, unless I get the drop on someone I'm usually gone, and I refuse to sit on roofs like a little bitch, although counter-sniping is by far the most fun thing for me.

To me the problem isn't necessarily sitting on a roof. It's ALL of them on the SAME roof! WTF? If you've got snipers all over the map, perhaps it'll work out. But what the hell are six guys going to do all looking at the same spot? It's dumb. I've almost given up on sniping because I'm so bad at it. Plus I get bored. I need to learn how to move and snipe, without just exposing myself to the world.

EDIT: Also, BF4 seems like it might be a game that you almost have to have friends playing with you. I'm sure it'll be fun even solo, but I think that if you have a squad to roll with every game will be good. Either everyone is playing the objective and you can all work as a team (your squad and all the randoms), or if all the randoms are sitting there sniping or being dumb, at least your squad can work together to goof around.

  2. I agree. K/D is the very first thing so many people look at to judge ability. If it's not high, they automatically assume the person sucks. Doesn't matter that they played the objective and were more help than anyone else on the team. It would be great if the stat was completely removed and people could simply focus on winning. If win % was the "go-to" stat, I think you'd see a lot more teamwork as that would be the best way to increase wins.

  3. I'm a noob-toobing roof camper!!! FUCK YOU ALL!!!!!

No, seriously, it's a decent strategy depending on the game. I do know what you're saying though. I only play Domination as the vehicles destroy me. Once I get the full release I'll spend some time training in vehicular warfare, but for beta, I'm sticking to Dom. My playstyle isn't exactly good for Battlefield. I like to be in on action. I don't like waiting. So, I am one of the aforementioned headless chickens. However, part of my contribution is that I like to mess with the other team as much as possible. I may die a lot, but I at least want to be a speed bump while I'm doing it.

Which brings me to my roof camping strategy: if the other team isn't going to take the roof, I will. Combined with the noob-tube, it's a good way to get them hiding when trying to cap B or running away from A.

However, I usually don't stay up there long. Either I get popped by a sniper, or I run out of ammo. I've run into the people you're talking about. All the guys are up there not doing anything. It's a bit silly.

Also, $20 a month for aimbot? How the hell do I make a program like that?! I can't imagine pissing away $240 a year just so I could cheat at a video game.

  4. The hud is removed by using an addon. Can't remember what it's called but it used to be fine until Punkbuster updated so you could potentially get a permanent ban from the game by using it.

The rotation shot is hundreds of screen shots animated to look like a scene. Each one will be a character moving around to get the shot, hency why it looks "laggy" when it spins around.

That's way too much work. I don't want to make one any more.

  5. I've never understood how these are made. Some shots look like gameplay, so I get that. Not sure how you remove the HUD and everything, but still, looks like first person. But what about when the camera spins around and other stuff like that? How do they do that?!

I love these videos and wish I could make something like it. They're very entertaining.

  6. Running on ultra with no issue. Game is gorgeous. I suck at driving, so I'm gonna need to practice that crap. Seems most of my deaths were due to someone in a tank. I guess I need to stay out of the street.

Moment of glory that made it all worth it? I parachuted down to a lower building and took out two guys while doing it. DEATH FROM ABOVE MOTHERFUCKERS!!!!!!!

There were a couple lag spikes, but nothing I cared about. Mostly I need to remap all the keys to my mouse. I'm okay with WASD movement, but the rest need to change. Especially run. The double-tap thingy doesn't work for me.

Overall, I think think game is gonna be wicked once the full release comes out. If I can have a group of friends that play the same time I do, I will dump ridiculous hours into it.

  7. Downloaded the PS3 beta just because I had access to it from Warfighter. Got to play one game last night, after about a billion updates. Had to update my PS3 system software, then PSN store, then download and install the beta. What a PITA.

Game was fun. Went 5-17. Dual analog is for the birds. Also, there's a crap ton of controls, which I didn't bother to look at first. Took me half the match just to figure out how to run. :D

I think I'm really going to like this game. Wishing I knew more people playing on PC though.

  8. I've got a Logitech G700 I think. It's sweet and definitely does help with all the buttons. It's nice being able to program all the commonly used things onto a close button.

If the Nav doesn't work out, I think I'll be ok with keyboard. I'm pretty sure no matter what, the game is going to be hard for awhile. There's going to be a lot of people who are pros with keyboard + mouse. Oh well. I'll just get in a fighter jet and crash into them or something. Or grab an ATV. How fun will those things be?!

  9. stick with the mouse and learn to use it otherwise the PC players will shit all over you

you can aim so much faster with a mouse than a controller. just grind away and youll get used to it

I was gonna replace the keyboard with the Nav and use a mouse. I don't mind using a mouse, it's the damn AWSD that I can't get used to. Plus the Nav has extra buttons. The keyboard obviously does too, but I always end up hitting the wrong keys. I suck. However, I found some software called Motioninjoy I think. Looks promising. I'm hoping it'll let me use the Nav instead of keyboard. Of course, I have no idea if it'll actually work with BF4. I haven't tried the software on any other games either. I should probably get on that.

  10. I don't understand what anyone is talking about, but I'm still excited for the beta. It'll give me a chance to get used to playing a FPS on PC. Get my controls set up and whatnot. Really hoping I can get my PS3 Nav controller to work. That would be sweet.

  11. I have no l33t graphix skillz. However, I would like to help spread the word so I'll keep an eye on this thread (or any others that have FG stuffs in them). I intend to search high and low (mostly low, as that's where my kind of people hang out) for a large, solid group of people to play BF4 with me. My plan will be to lead them here and never let them leave. Once Stockholm syndrome sets in, we're golden.

  12. Although I'm the new guy, I thought I'd add a couple things. These are only my opinions, so do with them what you will.

Regarding YouTube, I wouldn't count on earning any money from it (at least not for awhile). I believe it's ridiculously hard to get enough views to drive a check from YT. One of my gaming friends has three times the viewers I have, way more hits, and hasn't seen a penny. Certainly, I wouldn't discourage YT. In fact, I really want to boost my channel and get it active again. YT and videos are way fun. I'm just saying that it probably won't earn income.

The ads might work (never had a site with Adsense, but it sounds a lot easier to earn money than with YT), but to drive legit clicks you'd need to bring people here with content. Content is king. I like the blog idea. It gives content, it would be constantly changing (hopefully), and I don't think they take a ton of programming to set up. Seems like there's lots of software to do it, and I know PowerBoard has their own module for it.

For my money, I think the server idea would be the best way to get people here. Certainly, I'm looking for a BF4 server. Seems logical that lots of people will also want to find a good server and not just use random ones. If you have a server, people will also want to go to the forums to meet others on the server. Presto - new people becoming members and contributing.

However, I know servers cost $$$. You may want to think about a donation page/button. Maybe some of the dedicated members can pitch in a few bucks each month. May not cover all your costs, but it would help. Ultimately, and this is just my opinion, I wouldn't do anything that you can't afford to do on your own. I'd figure out how much you're willing to spend each month just because you want to do it. That way, you're not going to be upset if the money doesn't start coming in.

If there's anything I can do to help, let me know.

  13. Bahaha, welcome Tommy

    Hello sir!

The more I see about BF4, the more I want it. Looks amazing, and from what I've seen I think I'll enjoy it way more than CoD: Ghosts. Black Ops 2 just wasn't that interesting to me. BF4 just looks like it has so much more for me to do. ATVs, I think, will be my favorite. I hope they're plentiful.

Also, really nice job on the site. Pretty cool forums.

  14. So if I blow past even the recommended specs, I should be good right? ;)

I love Windows 8. Why do so many people hate it? Seems to run really well and the interface was pretty easy to get used to.
