Dockter 17
How well would something like this work for my xbox360 http://www.rakuten.com/prod/micropac-usb-avcpt-usb-2-0-video-audio-capture-creator-dvd-maker/208050785.html?listingId=58155368 It sucks they are getting rid of theater because me and my friends like to save games and compare and make fun of each other. I'm not interested in being a yt'er or anything like that I just want something cheap that we can all get to save some games so not interested in spending 200 dollars on a pvr or anything like that. Would this work for a cheap ass like me? Diddums 4,346
Those are notoriously bad. The reason things like PVRs and capture cards exist is because there's a need for them. If they weren#t needed, we'd all be using stuff like this. It doesn't actually encode anything, it simply converts the signal for your PC, which will then do all the encoding itself. So unless you're rocking on hell of a monster of a PC, it's not going to work. Dockter 17
Okay thanks... Any suggestions on something decently priced. I'm just not looking to spend a bunch because within a year or so I'll probably be getting a next gen so I don't want to spend much on something I'm going to use a year or less. JBR-Kiwi 286
Simple answer, dont go with the easycap/whatever the else its been renamed as. I used to use one and it was a pain in the arse and had a number of problems, audio being the main one. If you want to get something reasonably priced, look into the original HD PVR. You can pick one up for about 50quid now in a used condition, thanks to the PVR2 and Elgato coming out which has brought the price for the original one down. I still use mine for all my videos, and to be honest, despite the temptation to get an Elgato, I will continue to use it until it gives up the ghost. Dockter 17
That's exactly what I'm looking for is something in the 50-60 dollar range. I'm not looking to make commentaries or anything like that. I just want something so we can still watch each others games when we are bored and have nothing better to do. (In other words when my gf wont let me get on CoD or LoL) Link to comment https://forevergaming.co.uk/forum/forums/topic/76-would-this-work-to-capture-gameplay-and-put-it-on-my-computer/#findComment-999 Share on other sites
JBR-Kiwi 286
No thats fair enough, just keep an eye on ebay and amazon i guess and see if any come up that are within your price range. If you get it new you'll need to get some xbox HD component cables as well to connect it up which cost like $5-10 Link to comment https://forevergaming.co.uk/forum/forums/topic/76-would-this-work-to-capture-gameplay-and-put-it-on-my-computer/#findComment-1017 Share on other sites
Diddums 4,346
I'd wait until the PS4 and Xbone are released. If you intend to bag one of those, they might have some or other facility built in. Apparently.
