They're a pain to get the first time round but then you'll find you get an abundance of them. Just keep grinding that grind! Stretch616 697 Posted December 4, 2014 Share Posted December 4, 2014 I found strikes were a good from the perspective of getting enough marks to buy legendary gear and then dismantling it to get the shards. It's about the only guarranteed way of getting shards. What level are you upto now? Daily missions, you get two ascendant shards or energy.If you have three, that means six aascendant materials a day. Nightfall, hit and miss. You can get up to 11 shards or five strange coins Public events, now though they don't drop it anymore. I haven't seen any in a while. As stretch said, build up vanguard and crucible marks to get legendary gear to breakdown for shards. By far the best is the raid. You get 4 chests with a potential of I think two or three per each. You can count on the bosses dropping shards or energy and not the gear you want. Weekly heroic mission. Nightfall. Raid. Random drops. As said though, if you have lots of Vanguard or Crucible marks, you can use those to buy legendary stuff and destroy it. Oh and multiple toons.
