The Hoax Season is upon us, Vault dwellers. A trademark for Fallout: Shadow of Boston has been submitted for registration with the Deutsches Patent- und Markenamt, by one Ann K. Ford from Paris, on behalf of Bethesda Softworks. VG247 points out it's consistent with the leaks for a similar title from February, the reality is that the title is misspelled (what company misspells its own flagship title?) and the IMDb listing for it is long gone.

Why are we calling BS on this? Here's the raisins:

Bethesda's next installment will be called Fallout 4 or Fallout IV. That's why Skyrim is The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, not The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim.

Once it's deleted, you can read it here, in case you want to show it to your children. On the odd chance it is actually true and Bethesda does misspell the name of its own game in legal documents, registers abroad first despite being an U.S. company, and goes against its practice of numbering its own games, we'll keep you posted. Until proven true, though, doubt everything.

TL;DR

Don't believe this news yet

Luke 23:34
'And Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they don't think it be like it is, but it do."

I feel your pain.

I went through it as well before remembering that Fallout is worse than Half-life for hoaxes like this

Luke 23:34
'And Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they don't think it be like it is, but it do."

Well if you all want to believe a lie and have your "moment" then Not only is Fallout 4 confirmed. Its going to be bundled with Half Life 3, as well as a decent Aliens VS Predator game, and in a double whammy twist of fate, Gordon Freeman is now a playable character in both other games. Sadly the Gravity gun won't be.
