I've never really been clear (Mainly as I chose to not explore what the pervs gound appealing in MLP) on the Over sexualization part of MLP, but I will say this, "we (The members of this forum) have all seen pics of ponies dressed up in lingerie, with tits, in a sexual pose". Now I am not a prude by any stretch, but thats not my cup o' tea, and I can see where others take exception to it.

I don't doubt that the cartoon is probably really well done. truth be told, I would rather my son watch MLP instead of things like "Uncle Grandpa", or "Dan VS", or "Mad TV", or the "New Looney Tunes", or "Total Drama Island", or the "New Teen Titans", or "Spongebob", or any of a hundred other shows that are just frigging horrible for young minds.

 

MLP seems to have genuine decent lessons in the show geared towards teaching decency and being a good person.

 

All that said, my son isn't really a fan of the show, and neither am I, but, too each his own.

 

As far as the Sports fan analogy, I completely agree. I cannot watch College football because of the fan base here in Alabama; and I will never forget the first actual fist fight I saw between an Auburn fan and an Alabama State fan. That shit is just fucking retarded.

Sennex, if you think Datte's pony is sexy that's your issue.  One you don't really need to PM me about twice and post publicly as well.  Was that what you were referring to when you said we'd all seen a pony in lingerie in a sexy pose?  Holy crap did I never consider it that way, and at least per Manjohnny's post I wasn't the only one.  I took it for what it was, an old school pinup like you see on bombers, but done in a pony theme.

My point very much was that MLP is not over sexualized.  Hell, I went and watched an episode just to see for myself.  Its as sexed up as the Smurfs or Fraggle Rock, as in 0%.  The fact that a certain subset of fans makes porn out of it doesn't make everyone who likes it a deviant, and CERTAINLY doesn't mean the official show is over sexualized.  Welcome to the Internet, people make porn out of everything.

My response started with how I never understood the "Anti-pony" crowd falling back on the sexual perversion angle.

Then, I posted pics of how it is totally normal for folks to over sexualize cartoon. I did this by linking to a pic of Cheetara from Thundercats, as well as a woman who was cosplaying as her. Now that pic is from the actual show, anyone that watched it will know that that is seriously how she looked in the show.

 

After that I posted the jacked up pics of MLP that are literal all over the place. I did a generic search for MLP and Brony and bam there they were (Although, thinking about it now, I was on Deviant Art not Google, so my initial post was wrong).

 

Following that was this Disclaimer:

Meaning that there is perfectly reasonable artwork as well. My point however was to show the Over-sexualization of cartoons, either by designer choice or by Fan's. I genuinely thought this part was crystal clear, apparently it was either ignored, or twisted so that folks could better feel persecuted in their enjoyment.

 

So what the above means is that there are a bunch of shows on TV that are way frigging worse than MLP. My son and I watch loads of cartoons, but skip the ones I mentioned. My son decided he didn't like MLP, so we dont watch it.

 

I stated that MLP has good lessons and messages geared at making someone a decent person. (Do I really need to decipher that for you guys?)

 

After that I jumped to Doc's portion about Sports teams.

Living in Alabama, no one cares about anything but NCAA football. You are either an Auburn Fan, an Alabama fan, or you don't matter. I watched a fist fight break out between two rival fans, at work, in the middle of a row of cubes, because of the stupid mentality that sports fanatics have.

 

In other words, I was agreeing with Doc that sports fans are equally as retarded as every other group that takes a hobby to far.

 

If thats not clear, then it won't ever be.
