H3iman 14
Not bad, I may want to Overclock my CPU, upgrade my PSU, and get a 2nd GTX 680. Will depend greatly on how smoothly my PC runs the Beta. Is Battlefield 4 here yet? Sennex 1,903
With specs like that, its doubtful I will get it for PC. ps3/ps4 will end up being cheaper for me in the long run Luke 23:34 'And Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they don't think it be like it is, but it do." cyberninja2601 1,106
Beta is supposed to be in early October for Premium and pre-purchase people. Late October for general Beta. My rig just made it for recommended, however I don't know about the PC. I still have not been able to adapt to Keyboard + Mouse to have any fun at it. A wired Xbox controller (USB) is about 20-30$ on Newegg. I can apparently run this half way between Required and Recommended. http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri has been updated with BF4 specs, so go there to see how you do (If you don't already know) Commander_Undies 1 Luke 23:34 'And Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they don't think it be like it is, but it do." Diddums 4,346
I'm amazed that you lose points for not having Win8. 2gb is more than enough, a 770 is 2gb and that'll come pretty close to maxing the game out I reckon. cyberninja2601 1,106
I don't think that Win8 will actually cost you performance. Link to comment https://forevergaming.co.uk/forum/forums/topic/177-bf4-pc-specs/#findComment-4410 Share on other sites
Diddums 4,346
My point exactly. Rather odd that it'd take points off for that. Link to comment https://forevergaming.co.uk/forum/forums/topic/177-bf4-pc-specs/#findComment-4411 Share on other sites
H3iman 14
Just realized my GPU doesn't meet the recommend settings. My GTX 680 only has 2GB of Video RAM, compared to the required 3GB. If my performance is lacking, I'll seriously consider getting a 2nd and running them in SLI. BO7H B4RRELS 2,453
I don't know jack shit about system requirements, hardware, etc., but that seems pretty taxing on the average gaming rig, right? I want to run that "Can I Run it" site to see if I can play it on my PC. cyberninja2601 1,106
Go ahead and run it and you will most likely fall in the top end of the min specs. However the recommended specs are not achievable unless you have a very recent PC. 4GB of video mem is pretty rare, most people just don't have Win8 because it sucks Link to comment https://forevergaming.co.uk/forum/forums/topic/177-bf4-pc-specs/#findComment-4551 Share on other sites
tommy290 12
So if I blow past even the recommended specs, I should be good right? I love Windows 8. Why do so many people hate it? Seems to run really well and the interface was pretty easy to get used to. cyberninja2601 1,106
I didn't know Steve Ballmer played Video games Win8 is so bad that we refuse to develop for it. BO7H B4RRELS 2,453
I ran that test today, I'm halfway between minimum and recommended. Good to know BF seems like it would be easier for me to play on PC than CoD. Good to know BF seems like it would be easier for me to play on PC than CoD. You are where I am on the scale. Still debating on getting it for PC though. That being said, I really want to try this on PC with a Controller. anyone know if an older PS2 controller would work well with a USB converter? I forgot I had one, and just found it this weekend Luke 23:34 'And Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they don't think it be like it is, but it do." cyberninja2601 1,106
People generally recommend against the controller because it is too slow. I've seen some sites that show how to do it with some driver and a PS3 controller but not PS2. Apparently you can make it work with with an XBOX controller pretty easy Link to comment https://forevergaming.co.uk/forum/forums/topic/177-bf4-pc-specs/#findComment-4898 Share on other sites
L_C_Scipio 395
I have USB adapters that let me use PS2 controllers with PS3 so I would assume you'd be able to use them on PC with the right drivers. Never tried it though. Link to comment https://forevergaming.co.uk/forum/forums/topic/177-bf4-pc-specs/#findComment-4900 Share on other sites
Sennex 1,903
crud, I might just grab a new controller then. Wonder why its slower, input is input. cyberninja2601 1,106
I think it might be the polling time of the controller as opposed to mouse. Link to comment https://forevergaming.co.uk/forum/forums/topic/177-bf4-pc-specs/#findComment-4903 Share on other sites
Diddums 4,346
Having tried using a controller on PC for FPS games, I can tell you that you'll want to rip your eyeballs out in frustration. You won't stand a chance. However, should you want to go down that route, I have used both an Xbox controller and a PS3 one for my PC. The Xbox one works easily, the PS3 one required some software. I can't think of the name but if you want to give it a go let me know and I'll dig it out. Sennex 1,903
I think my biggest problem lately is I don't have time to tweak and test BF3 for my KB/M, and the controller at this point just feel smore natural. Oh wells Luke 23:34 'And Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they don't think it be like it is, but it do."
