None of Carroll's explanations for that play make any sense to me. I know it's easy to second guess a call when you're not the one that had to make it at the time, but I think he outsmarted himself.
I'd say it's the novelty of seeing a famous foreign team. Our pro league here, Major League Soccer/MLS has an average attendance under 20k and a total attendance of a third or less than our "big four" (NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA).
I don't think anyone debates that soccer is the more popular sport worldwide. American football is king in the US though, inflated viewing stats or no.
What are your thoughts and hopes for the upcoming season?
As a Cowboys fan I'm not optimistic for this year. We had a historically bad defense last year, lost our two best defensive players in Demarcus Ware and Sean Lee, and didn't do a whole lot to improve it over the offseason. I'm predicting a 7-9 record this year.
Goalie was great, but we absolutely got stomped. Expected though. I told my brother what the my predictions for gold, silver, and bronze were gonna be before the Olympics even started and so far things are falling into place.
Jonathan Quick was just outstanding. They should have lost by a lot more than just one.

Anybody else following free agency? Pretty crazy stuff this year.
