Mel Gibsons character is just played by Tom Hardy. Repeat, this is NOT a remake, this is #4 (I repeat it as I keep hearing people say it is a remake and it is not.) I think Hardy has maybe 20 lines in the movie which actually does really well for the movie, also in the Original Mad Max, Gibson only had 16 lines, so there is precedence. I honestly can't say enough good things about this movie, there is very minimal CGI, in fact that one scene that is CGI is pretty obvious. It might be the single best action movie I have ever seen. There is just so much going on subtly in the movie that if you want a deep philosophical movie, you will have it. If you want a buncha mutants fighting, then you will have it.
