Does anyone here have Uverse?  AT&T just laid new fiber and I'm thinking of dropping Comcast.  The last time I looked at Uverse there was like a full second delay each time you changed channels or scrolled the guide so it was a deal breaker.  If that's not the case anymore I'm giving Comcast the boot.

This is from a house in the neighborhood next to mine.  We should have access to this in a week or so.

whats the cost per month?

Are they doing the stupid UVerse bandwidth caps still? (here they capped you at 50gb a month, every 5gb after that was 10$, my family uses on average 800-900gb of bandwidth a month)

Are they doing stupid mandatory bundles still?

I've had some experience with Uverse fiber, I still pay a cable ISP for a reason.

I don't have Uverse, and I HATE Comcast even though I have had them for a few years now. So while I am no fan of Comcast (Worst customer service I have EVER seen) I will tell ya that Uverse monthly prices will go up even more than Comcast after the first year. I almost switch the AT&T a few months ago because they have a special price for the first year, but after the initial first year is over their prices skyrocket even worse than Comcast does. So make sure you find out what the cost will be after the first year period is up just so you know what you will be paying.

It's probably best to wait around and see how it goes with other people before switching.  I don't really have any issues with Comcast.  I just hate their billing practices and the constantly changing price I'm expected to pay per month.  It's the same damn service yet each month the bill is different.

Our cap with Comcast is 300Gb and thats plenty for us.  I have 100mb today so my internet is already fast enough.  If the bundles are cheaper, and if service is just as good I'll give Uverse a try.  At least we have some competition now.  Maybe that will change things around here

One thing I have learned since getting rid of cable, is to NEVER sign a 2 year contract.

Ask for the price "out of contract", per the FCC all cable and phone companies have to offer service without a contract. However the companies do not advertise or train people on the existence of it. So it might take a few calls before you find someone that knows about it.

With Mediacom, we are out of contract, and pay 80$ a month for 1tb of bandwidth, with speeds around 100 down and 25 up.

Yep that's the same problem I use to have with them. I signed a guaranteed price 2 year contract. Had the contract in hand with exactly what it should cost for 24 months. I won't bore you with all the details of exactly what happened, but to sum it up... I had a different price every single month for the first 14 months of my 24 month contract. I probably spent well over 20hrs on the phone with at least 25-30 different people at Comcast. Had promised told to me that they would take care of it, that they would credit me, they would fix it for the next month, everything. I even called the Corporate headquarters it got so bad.

Worst customer service by far I have ever in my life had with any company what so ever. FINALLY about 5 months ago the bill was correct (took them 14 months to finally get it right) and the past 5 have finally been right.

Didn't mean to stray off topic onto that but just had to tell ya what I had gone through with them myself.

I had Uverse and hated it. Like the worst tv I ever had. The internet constantly dropped in and out. Was down for three solid weeks at one point. When I complained that I shouldn't get charged for the three weeks it was down I got nothing. I had charter out the next week.
