The devs seem cool and once they have a playable version I'll definitely give it a go. There's an option in Steam to request access : )

Okay, so its a Zombie apocalypse/ City Builder type game. It takes Google Maps data to create your play area.....

I started a map, with my house as the HQ, and it has been amazing so far. You can create any location in the world. The game uses the map data to sort out how difficult of a time you will have. Cities obviously are the worst locations.  The maps are not perfect, in that it assumes the sizes of the houses based off of google footprint. So in my case it has my house slightly smaller than it actually is, because the google map image isn't current. (See the screenshots below)

You can dismantle houses for resources, and you find settlers all over the place. 

There is a story, that I won't spoil because I think I am about a third of the way through it, I could be wrong there though. I am way to busy farming resources to build a fortress to worry about other survivors in DC and Baltimore.

Two gripes people have about the game:

Zombies can cross any body of water, so can your squads. The Dev's did this for pathing reasons, as the game is still in Early Access, and I guess trying to differentiate water on a google map is hard when importing data. IDK, it doesn't' phase me, I just build more walls

Radio transmissions are frequent, and can't be ignored. You have to choose an option, but luckily it does pause the game for you. That being said if you don't choose an option quickly the npc's will get grumpy.

So the screenshots I am attaching are of my play area. The "Star" is my house, the HQ, the rest are shelters, and warehouses I am setting up, along with some build orders, etc. I zoomed really far out for these so you could see the street names and more of the play area.

You have to look at not just food and water but your weight, minerals, sodium etc

If you play as a male, you have to decide how big your dick is (and I'm not telling what reference this has to your overall stats😅).

It's hardcore with a capital fuck off H.

So, with an update out soon its nice timing to find DevilDog video just released today.

It has a tutorial mission, and then a midpoint mission that kicked my butt. I was able to get one of the seeds destroyed before I ran out of money for new units. This game is HELLA hard it feels like

Also the twist on classic RTS must be experienced (Fair warning, aim for the large trunks)

A strategy game with a new kind of enemy, Calyx puts you in charge of a space mining outpost, locked in battle with an overwhelming alien...

The basic premise is you are a convicted criminal thats exiled to a planet and you need to terraform it in order to survive.

You have to gather ore's in order to build drills, shelters, generators, food growers, etc...

Starting off you need to increase pressure, heat, and oxygen. This will in turn melt the ice that is everywhere and start the water cycle, from there you gather materials to start getting moss and grass to grow and spread. From there Tree's, eventually you hit insects and then animals.

The thing that I love about the game is that it runs in the background, and based on how many of each type of machine you have, you get a real time countdown to when the next planetary phase unlocks. The more machines the faster it is, the less machines, the slower. So I can fire it up, sit in my shelter, and work, but the game just runs along happily, and as long as I have food, water, and oxygen in my pack my convict jsut hangs out.

It was made by a small indie dev team, and it shows with some weird clipping when you get close to map edges, but other than that, its one of the best games I have played in the last year.

Not getting my hopes up too much as these games are hard to pull off and not many developers even touch this genre but definitely worth keeping an eye on. 

Most iconic thing about the entire series is the b-movie presentation and how they managed to swoop so many big actors - at times it does look like a potential porno is gonna break out but it was a really impressive part of the presentation that compensated for a top-down almost 2D series. Had a real charm about it despite the cheese. 

I took a punt on it while it was in its funding stage, so I have access to it but can't talk about it due to NDA.

There was a bit of an issue with the keys and the game is already been delayed for various reasons so I note that there's a few haters of it already, though I think some people exist just to have angry reactions.

It's been too nice outside for gaming lately but it's a rainy week so maybe...

I hope S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is as good as the original when it finally releases.

You can hunt ghosts in groups too, if anybody has it I think it might be a good game to have a laugh on.

I never got the original from Sierra because I was mostly playing Age of Empires 2 and Civilization 3 back then but this looks really decent. Anyone have this classic back in the day?

1. Boss fights only take place via community calendar events.

2. Password is not to be shared beyond FG.

3. Don't be an asshat, at least to other FGers 

The server can't be rolled back or saved at present, so any fucking with these rules equals a permanent ban.😇

Production lags behind tech and culture so badly.  It takes forever to build much.  I don't care for the city planner aspect of it, and there's so many moving parts it rapidly bogs down and becomes a slog about mid-game.  

Anyone try any mods that improve the experience and make it more like a better version of 5, or is it just what it is?

Release due on October 21st on PC. Interesting looking game. Thoughts?
