  1. I'm super happy (and pretty astounded) to announce that this is the 4th year that the FG Awards has been a thing. I stopped for a very brief moment today and I realised we're super lucky to have something so unique and one of a kind for a family like this. As a reminder for newer FGers, I set up the FG Awards as a way to recognise a few people within the FG family to say thank you for what they have done to help others. I hope that the below is an enjoying read of all our winners, especially with 2 new additional awards for Play of the Game and Top Contributor. Let's not waste any more time to get into 2021's special winners! Young FGer of the Year I think its credit to this guy that even @Diddums thought that he was much nearer 30 due to how he handles himself online, having a laugh with everyone else. Already the most experienced Destiny raider out of everyone, it hasn't stopped him wanting to help the most inexperienced people here at FG. If everyone was as helpful, patient and damn right crazy as him at his age, we wouldn't have a problem when the next generation have to step up and make a difference. Thanks for being a part of FG, Lee'esh. Long may it continue. Winner - @Leeesh13 - Lee'esh FG Noobie of the Year For quite possibly a shy guy to start with, he has really understood the spirit of FG from our first meeting. Willing to try many games with FG where possible and really contribute across lots of topics all over FG. He even raised money for Alzheimer's Association this year which was great to see him share this with us here. Wanting to learn more and not miss out on the laughs we have on Monday Night Football with the FGFC FIFA team and a regular on FG Friday shenanigans, Ant has made himself more than just one of the crowd here this year. Winner - @Antpool84 - Ant Guardian Down Award A close one this year, with many people making the funny epic failures of most FG evenings. Previous winners like @techno and @Diddums had chances as they get shotgunned in the Crucible, alongside @slamminbones sweary outbursts on GT Sport evenings, and @TurboR56Mini epic fails on Nightfalls with the FG Destiny crew. Possibly because his accumulative dying record would probably now challenge any Destiny player in the universe, it's about time Bob was recognised for his great achievements after playing - and dying - so much on Destiny to get all his accolades. I think Bob would spend a whole evening dying over and over if you offered him 5 points off a Triumph. And that's without trying too! Winner - @Baabcat - Bob FG Archbishop of Banterbury He thought his depressive side could be so funny? I didn't. But the fact that he has his own word (Tomerisms) for when he says something so bloody random on FIFA, Rocket League or FG Friday nights, he probably deserves to feel on a special pedestal for a one shiny moment. Always trying to find that annoying little joke that you want to hate but laugh at, Tom is frustrating and fun to have around. Now, if this award goes a little way to helping him calm his deep thoughts he likes to share post midnight on a weekend of gaming then i'm all in! Winner - @LordBaguette - Tom FG Skills Award Similar to how last year's winner Kenny @IRaMPaGe has knocked out some amazing plays that he shares on his PPR and in the Videos section, there's another one here that if you don't check PPRs enough then you'd find way more about your fellow FGers!! Its been a tough end to the year for this one, but let's face it to be on the cusp of 500 - yes, FIVE HUNDRED - Platinum Playstation trophies is actually insane. I've kept up with his updates and he's surpassed a few hundred since he has been here and I sometimes think he'll never stop until he gets into the top 100 in the world, which isn't far away. Paul, I'll be watching for your 500th and after a well deserved break, hopefully to see you hit 600 in the future. Winner - @slamminbones - Paul FG Play of the Game A new award to this year and something that I would defnitely love for more entries into the Video section of all your famous and funny moments next year. This one for me sticks out like a sore thumb, and whilst its not the most ultimately the best goal we've ever scored with F.G.F.C on FIFA 21 this past year, it was an incredible goal and finish to an amazing game early on in the promotion charge from Division 10 to Division 1 in clubs. It also epitomised how that has been such a successful game for FG here with at least 17 FGers joining the club and playing hundreds and in some cases, thousands of games together. Final minute, after having just equalised moments before, a throw-in from one side passed through @Stretch616 , @G_dub52 and to @GazzaGarratt who then launches a huge long ball which could only give us the chance to win - and Lurch provides the scenes with the most emphatic header we've seen on a FIFA game. A quick link to the special moment in our video section can be found below! Last Minute Scenes! Winner - @J-Lurch - James FG Top Contributor If we don't have people here bringing us the latest info and news, alongside contributing to some great conversations then we just wouldn't simply survive. There's been one person that whilst we don't game much online, it hasn't stopped him from being around, sharing and showing others how easy it is to do for every FGer that comes here rather than all the other rubbish places on the interwebz. Its not just the quantity and we probably should recognise his support a lot more than we should have over recent years - even if his opinions can be unpopular at times! James, we wouldn't have this place without you, mate. Winner - @J4MES OX4D - James FGer of the Year Despite being at FG for only 16 months, she has made a monumental difference to the outcome of FG over the past year. Gathering troops, usually at 3am in the morning for her, organising raids and events. This place went from what we thought was an 'active' Destiny clan to having the most active raids we've ever done in the past 7 years of the game being out. Not only supporting this, but supporting other FG Friday events, setting up servers, creating a buzz about FG on topics, interesting viewpoints and actively encouraging new, less frequent people to show up more often around FG. A heart of gold with massive support from her husband Carl @TurboR56Mini too, we wouldn't have been able to give away such incredible gifts as part of the FGFGF, like the two PS5s a few months ago. She's also there for people on the personal level, and like many of you know how I will always be there for you, it is equally seen through what La has done for others behind closed doors. What's even better, is that we haven't had many women as part of FG and to think that someone like this can have such a positive impact on all aspects of FG, its shows how much we've opened our eyes and should be willing to do more for all FGers. Proud to call her my friend at my hour of need, we all appreciate and salute you for the effort you put here, La. Winner - @RenFengge - La FG Hall of Fame It was a delight to see this American pop back into our lives, especially after being pretty ill for a very long time this year - something I appreciate many wouldn't know but lets face it, its why we become best friends here that some of us know this important stuff. Its good to see this lover of all uber-hard games like Dark Souls, Bloodborne, etc back posting and looking forward to his playthrough verdicts and support in 2022 when we all pick up Elden Ring. Thanks for being an FGer for life big man. Winner - @Jason - Jason Aaaand we're done! No one expected 2021 to be as hard as 2020 but we all got through it thankfully. I'm sure some things will continue to be rocky and not always go our way, but i'm pleased to report we're all still here, bringing the heat and good vibes. All of this to make sure we have the best 2022 we could possibly have. Keep being there for each other. You really do not understand the gravity of your presence at FG for others. It surpasses many extraordinary things people can't explain in life. GGFG P.S. I really hope more of you FGers can join the other 36 so far confirmed people all across the world to join us in Wales in November 2022!! >> Biggest FG Meet Up Ever - Nov 2022

    3 Year anniversary!

Today (Good Friday) marks 3 years since I went cold turkey from one & a half packs a day smoker to Zero. One of the best decisions I ever made in my life. My average Blood pressure use to be about 150/100 with a heart rate of around 110bpm. These days it is normally 110/65 with a heart rate of about 70bpm. Not to mention I've probably saved around $8000 or more in the past three years of not smoking.

  3. The 5th year of the FG Awards!! After a year of reconnecting with the real world for all of us, this year has flown by so quickly, but we couldn't end it without having our star awards to round off the year on a high. It was a privileged year too, as we were able to present many of our FG Awards in person at our biggest ever face to face meet up. I really hope you enjoy reading the below piece. A unique place deserves unique rewards to give us all the best memories to hold on to. So let's get into them! Young FGer of the Year A person that has had an extremely busy year for himself, studying for A-levels and the hope of getting into one of the most prestigious Universities in the land. However, even alongside this really important life task, he made himself available to help FGers complete raids in Destiny 2, and any support needed to get a Dungeon done he would be there. Not only this but he's now branched out to Dark Souls games, sharing his feedback with all of FG, including creating his very own PPR. Winner - @Venom - Charlie FG Noobie of the Year Since joining in May, he has been an ever present all over FG; contributing in different in multiple topics, sharing new information, posting videos, reviewing new games for us to look at, giving us great joy (and banter) on FIFA nights and equally getting involved throughout the week on other FG gaming nights too. I delight to have around and a real FGer with same core values we all hold to help each other where possible. Winner - @Luseth - Matt Guardian Down Award We had some funny moments this year from people that carried on trying regardless of their epic fails. There are two winners this year as there was no separating them through the amount of trial and tribulations they've had on Destiny. So much so, this Grandmaster clip epitomises how and why they couldn't be separated. 7th run in, after not getting very far at all, we reach the first turn in the map before the first checkpoint. I get blasted into space and thinking Nick and Kempy would be the saviours, only they could manage to kill themselves in glorious fashion. Winners - @Bluebear & @Kemp210 - Nick & Kempy Archbishop of Banterbury This guy has had one hell of a ride this year so no wonder we find him most nights randomly in a party with us all and when you least expect it, blasting out the most random expletive you can think of, which usually sends everyone into a laughing frenzy. He's always getting on most week's, especially FG Fridays bringing the jokes of his weekly escapades along with him. For all the hard points in his life over the past 12 months, Bones is a fine example of cracking on and trying to have as much in life as you can. Winner - @slamminbones - Paul FG Skills Award You look good, you feel good. You feel good, you play good. FG's Mr Smooth Operator has been banging out the park across multiple games this year. Whether its ridiculous fancy flicks on FIFA, his slick sniper shots on Warzone, or even Ko'ing 2 gangsters at the same time on GTA. The guy has it all. Not to mention his joke delivery is usually bang on the money. Top props for an absolute top guy. Glad we have him at FG. Winner - @jordie1892 - Jordie FG Play of the Game Keeping the award going from last year's debut at FG, there have been many FG clips that have been simply superb. Kenny's efforts to annihilate everyone in CoD, Leeesh's finishing skills on Elden Ring bosses, yet here we are talking about another top evening of goals from our resident Left Centre Mid for FG, Macca. The clip below is not only one clip but it was an array of some incredibly skillful goals from just one evening with FG. Hopefully the likes of the people above can push more people here to share their clips for everyone else at FG to see. Winner - @Macca89 - Macca FG Top Contributor Tough one to call this year, with J4mes Oxford still delivering tons of info for us, Kenny chipping in with some great variety across FG but someone that just shades it this year is our favourite Canadian, an incredible person that can also double up as batman online when we want him too, and has also started a podcast with Sarah that we're all very proud of to say he is an FGer. Some great reviews and some great info about some games most of us never knew existed. Winner - @Riff Machine - Chad FGer of the Year Who says you can't win awards more than once? A real toughie as many of you have been fantastic for FG this year. This person has kept many a game night going, and when you need that one extra person, you know he'll be there. He keeps me going, and many other factors in FG tick, including multiple server games and offering his incredible support through his extra talents with art, maths and videos. All in his own spare time. Epitomises what FG is all about and I'm sure he will keep on helping people forever more. Thanks for everything this year, Greebs. Winner - @Greboth - Chris Hall of Fame Two amazing people that have been here since the dark ages. They've always been a dynamic duo that's kept plugging away with some of our most senior crew on Destiny and CoD, laughing away and giving things a go even when it may not end up in their favour. And it was great that we were able to meet them at our biggest meet up ever in November to give them their awards. Always available to lend an ear if you ever needed it and give you the straight talking truth even if you didn't know you needed it! Resident FGers for life, thanks for everything Mazz & Gaz. Winners - @mazzer & @wapntake - Mazz & Gaz We're finally done for another year! Phew! Looking back I don't think I'd ever see a year flyby as quick as this one but it certainly has and I hope it has been a great one for you all at FG. We must keep true to ourselves and keep being around for each other. You all play a fundamental role in why FG is the one place - the best place - on the internet where people can feel loved and know they'll always have a friend here to lean on when they least expect it. The FG Awards 2020

In 2018, I set up the FG Awards as a way to recognise a few people within the FG family to say thank you for what they have done to help others. I hope that all will enjoy the awards and maybe start to hope one day they'll get one themselves. I feel proud we can do such things in a year which i know most would want to forget. I promised to have a good send off to 2020 and that's what we're gonna do below! Young FGer of the Year We've played years with him but its only over the last 6-12 months where we've able to really get him part of the group where he has shined through many raid completions on Destiny 2. Not standing for just making up the numbers either, he has been able to help many inexperienced FGers to their first raid clearance ever on Destiny and other more experienced folk to get their first ever clearances for newer raids when it was virtually at its hardest point. I can't wait for him to get more involved with everyone, as he has fantastic skills and extremely mature head on his shoulders that really helps explain even the most difficult scenario to most inexperienced team player. You should be real proud of that boy, Bob @Baabcat . Well done Charlie! Winner - @Venom - Charlie FG Noobie of the Year Its been a joy to have this guy around after joining FG in April and has embraced everything about what we are since. Getting involved on FG Fridays games, offering to be part of teams where possible to help achieve goals, putting his views across the entire of FG, including creating his own PPR for his trials and tribulations on PS Trophy hunting! He's always up to give anything a go and his positive attitude is what we've needed over such a turbulent year. FG is a better place with the small Welshman (who'd have thought it?). Well done Paul! Winner - @slamminbones - Paul FG Guardian Down Award The FG Awards wouldn't be awards without one being about making funny moments happen, even if they didn't intend it! When I think of every FG Friday this year, I always wanted to make sure he was there. He'll play some games even if he's propping the bottom of the leaderboard up, getting shotgunned in the face every 2 seconds, or getting smashed off the GTA track. His deadpan way of life is brilliant and we'd be lost without him to be honest. His love/hate relationship he has for games is just incredible as he will play through any type of crap to have fun with anyone here and that attitude and commitment you just can't buy. Don't ever change Gary. And thank you for all you do outside of this for FG. Always massively appreciated. Winner - @techno - Gary FG Archbishop of Banterbury This award was most jovial and joker of the pack this year. He's been in the FG Wilderness for a while now but since coming to the BIG FG meet up last October, we have been graced with his ever present glorious self in a multitude of colourful goop. He has a funny knack of being able to bring the fun whatever the occasion, in his sexy accent and possible beer smelling mouth. And even though he usually doesn't know what the hell is going on, I don't think this man doesn't ever not care about any FGer in this place. If he could, he'd do anything for you - and guaranteed to put a smile on your face via his 1 minute game videoclips of something completely random. We're extremely lucky to have you Cal! Winner - @TheMuggySpud - Cal FG Skills Award This could've gone to a few people this year. @Greboth still knocking it out the park in whatever he makes in Minecraft and Artwork, @Teenwolf25 and @FallenDark200 making strides in solo/2-man runthroughs on Destiny 2 activities and raids, @datfroggieguy 's capacity to eat all the camos and cod challenges for breakfast, @tronic44's clever base antics in 7 Days with everyone else chipping in.....the list just goes on. But for once, I see a guy who is relentless - and i mean utterly relentless - and finding enough clips of mini plays to cause anyone to go into full panic if we had to make him another montage video of just the past week (you should check his PPR out as its pretty darn amazing). He has a great attitude towards how to tackle certain challenges and shares what could work for people. I'm sure having his newly born premature daughter home for Christmas is a way better present than this could ever show, however Kenny's skills won't go unnoticed any longer! Top stuff, squire! Winner - @IRaMPaGe - Kenny FGer of the Year When I can't do stuff around here, it gets to me. And i've learned that even myself can lean on people even when I didn't need to. Not just keeping FG going, but moving it forward to something even more can enjoy in a year that we'd all want to forget is remarkable really. He's helped out massively with under the hood stuff, like moderation, donations, game days/nights, event creation...more than you people will realise. But above all, he's a geniune man that wants us as a family to achieve all the things we want to, on a personal and family level. He'll always be interested in what you have to say and probably felt like he's sacrificed many years of his life to this place in doing so! Like FG isn't the same with most of you all being around, it certainly isn't FG if Phil isn't around. Thanks for all that you do Phil, you sir a gent and a Legend. Winner - @phil bottle - Phil FG Hall of Fame Each year I try to honour the achievements of people in the FG family that will show on paper, not just in real life that they will always be FG no matter what and rightly should be invited into the Hall of Fame. He is outspoken, volatile, random, hilarious, caring, hilarious, OTT, crazy and damn right impossible not to love (trust me, i've tried many times). It was never going to go much longer until this chap got into this because he built the foundations of FG. He built what why we're all here in the first place. When you realise at first hand the stuff I see in what's involved in everything that FG does, its incredible that we even started to exist in the first place. He lights up the room when he comes online, he even makes people laugh on the amount of times he then leaves the controller for his 53rd Poo of the night. But we wouldn't change him. And neither should anyone as that what we get with Diddums, right? Dave, thank you for all that you have done and also continue to do for FG. It never goes unnoticed in my book. Winner - @Diddums - Dave And with that, we're done! 2020 has been a dick of a year. But you're all here. We're all together, fighting the good fight and i'm sure 2021 will bring the best out in FG. 5. Yea. Title pretty much sums it up but here goes.. First off. I’d like to apologize to damn near everyone a part of the clan for my behaviour over the last 4-6 weeks. As some, if not all know, I’ve been clean and sober now for almost 15 months. Great in the short term and I honestly thought I was handling it fine. I haven’t had a sip of booze in that time nor have I gone to other means such as drugs.. But the past month or so have really put my head in a very shitty place. I’m not going to get into details but there’s been a lot of personal/work/life stuff that’s bombarded me all in a very short time and I’ve had a hell of a time coping with all of it. Not too mention that my anxiety is utterly through the roof.. I’ve always had bad bouts when I’ve got health concerns and such but with all this happening in such a short span, it’s really done a number on my nerves. The old me would’ve grabbed a case of beer and drank my worries away but that me is dead. The new me is having a hell of a time trying to deal with a lot of this crap and it’s put me in a really anti-social behaviour. Not only that, but trivial and very minor things that shouldn’t bother me at all have ended up really pissing me off or put my mood into a darker set then I normally am. I don’t like that. A lot of you that have known me for quite sometime KNOW how I am. The Batman, Micheal Caine happy go lucky guitar playing, impressionist that can be the life of an FG Friday and put a smile on someone’s face when they feel down. I haven’t been that lately and I need to do something about it. It’s started to effect a lot of the folks in this group that I consider friends and I can’t let that continue. It’s not fair for me to inadvertently take out the shitty things going on in my life on any of you. We’re all here to have fun enjoying the hobby we all share. If anything, I should’ve been more social and up front with my issues rather then trying to push everyone away. That’s my bad and I truly would like to apologize for being that asshole as of late. I know it’s not much but right now, it’s all I can offer. I know I fucked up and I’m working to fix that. I figured I’d let you all know. I’m incredibly thankful I have my wife Sarah @Rumelylady in my life whose been by my side when I’ve been shedding tears from being overwhelmed by all this bullshit to helping me find ways to cope with all this mental trash without resorting to my old habits. I feel I would be in a much darker place if I didn’t have her today. So, yea… Im working on my mental health. I want to get back to what normal feels like in my eyes. I’m finding ways to help cope with it and I felt this would be one way to do that. The road’s never clear and there’s always gonna be bumps.. I just ended up in a landslide and I’m digging my way out right now. GGs FG. Again, I’m sorry for being that jack ass.

  6. I promised you all for a special update from the FGFGF on my recent update about summer improvements to FG, so here it is! Buckle in tight for this one 😄 As most of you will hopefully know by now, La @RenFengge has come into help me a huge amount of late and she found an opportunity within lockdown to do a few extra special gifts as we had a few generous people in FG that could contribute significantly to help make a few people smile. First off, Bob @Baabcat has been here for many years and we've seen him be amazing of late, trying super hard to help many of the Destiny 2 FGers get involved and put up many raids each and every week. Its crazy to think that after nearly 7 years of Destiny, the past 6-12 months is the most active it has ever been at FG with so many complete FG raids, dungeons and Nightfalls done with each other. A large part of this was down to Bob so we duly obliged when knowing Charlie @Venom had a PS5 but his Dad didn't. After working out the logistics with Clive @Teenwolf25 , we informed Bob online how great he is and gave him a huge smile from the FGFGF with a new PS5. Secondly, Gary @techno has been a mainstay in FG for so many years and helping in areas that people really haven't seen before but he's always there to pick you up when you need it most. He always offers advice, even when you didn't realise it. It was about time this guy from 'up Norf' received something extra special, especially whilst he has to be ploughing money into huge alterations in house for his wife that has a degenerative disability. Thanks to a few more significant others, we were able to not give away one PS5, but two! (Logistical mare with how he got it but it was paid for nonetheless 😄). A shipping problem lies with our merch currently, but i've managed to test a few new design hoodies out, finally sorting the last Xmas FGFGF giveaway present to @Dan94 and for all his continued efforts with his artwork and helping me significantly with his amazing Gran Turismo Articles, @Greboth received his own personalised hoodie. Some also might not be aware but our beautiful Scottash @Nutcuttlit had a horrible scare recently when his daughter was knocked over by a car. Whilst battered and bruised she soldiered on like how her Dad can be, so we thought we would send the best current release on Metacritic, a 2 player co-op game It Takes Two. Hopefully the smiles can keep wash away the bruises over time 😄 There was a few FG mugs given out too, @Findmartin @TonyAE86 @Lurch @Antpool84 to name just a few. We're working quite hard to get some extra things to other FGers outside of the UK too. Its more of a logistical nightmare (and has been for a few years) but watch this space and we're extremely hopeful of doing further good things to keep people smiling around the world in the not too distant future. Lastly, don't get take the next part lightly. Thank You. ALL OF YOU people have shown you have the ability to keep making so many people smile and happy, especially when it hits some people's lives when they need it most. There's some of FGers out there that won't be named that are at their darkest points, and stuff like this - showing that you care for others at such a hard time for all of us - helps them realise life is worth living. Keep giving when you can to make FGers smile. GGFG all ❤️

  7. So, I had a pretty awesome experience with the good ol' interweb this weekend, in spite of a pretty terrible reason, that I thought I might share. Now, first thing I need to say that I really don't use internet for anything other than gaming, this forum and browsing YouTube and Facebook. I know some of you are members of other forums (gaming or otherwise) and have heard of some great experiences, but never really cared to use the internet in any other way than I currently due. So with that said, here goes. On Saturday morning my wife's grandfather passed away. He was 91, had dementia and was in poor health due to being 91 and having dementia, so his passing was no real surprise, and is looked upon as a good thing in our family, as the last few months have been hard on him. He's also a WWII Marine Vet. And as some of you know I'm also a Marine Vet, so while shoveling my driveway Saturday afternoon I thought I would pay my respects the only way I knew I could, and that was by wearing my Dress Blue uniform to his funeral. The only problem is that I don't own one anymore. So, I needed some and I needed some fast. Getting a full set of dress blues sized correctly with all medals and ribbons mounted in 3 days is about as easy as your wife getting ready to go out to dinner in 3 minutes. I did some google searching for some local military surplus stores, but nobody had what I needed. Feeling pretty bad, I tried one more search...And found a full set, brand new, with all the works (blues have tons of buttons, belt and accessories) on eBay. But their shipping policy wouldn't get it here on time. So I messaged the poster... And he's where the story gets good. He messaged me right back with his phone number and I gave him a call. I explained the situation to him. He told me he would take it off ebay and ship it overnight from California that night and I could just pay him through paypal. I was kinda nervous about that, but he had a positive rating of 99.5% with over 400 items sold, and is a former Marine himself, so I took my chances and went for it. We exchanged a few texts and I checked the fedex tracking number this morning and the package will show up this afternoon. Well, I also need my ribbons and medals mounted, which is still no easy task in a short timeframe. Well, as it turns out, the guy who sold me the dress blues, knows another former Marine in Arizona who does just that. He passed along this other guys contact info, and a couple of calls later I’ve got a full set of medals and ribbons on the way. So in short, I was able to get something done that seemed impossible. A full set of dress blues while being nowhere remotely close to anyplace that sells it, from 2 guys who I never met, but who were both former Marines who did everything they possibly could to help out a fellow devil dog. All so I could wear a uniform for 3 hours.

    Thank you FG

Not going to go to in depth but my wife of 8 years which we've been together for almost 21 years has really screwed me over. What she's done is morally wrong to throw away 21 years two kids aged 15 and 18 we've so much history and been through so much all gone. Most of my friends locally have either passed moved away my family know what's happened and only a hand full check in on me and they're not even my immediate family. Which brings me to you guys the FG GT guys know what's happened I've spoken to a couple through different message formats but the support I've gotten is far more than people around me locally for that I thank you and to anyone that's in any party chat that doesn't even know what's happened. If it weren't for you guys and FG I wouldn't be feeling how I am now and most likely still in a mess. It's only been a month since I found out but all I care about is my kids getting a place once they house is sold next year which we've only had for 2 years. I promise I won't bore you lot with my troubles much in chats as i must sound like a broken record 😂 but again thank you guys it means the world to me the support I've had off you.

    New member!

Hi everyone, Welchy here, I’m new to the site, stumbled across when looking for gaming communities where I can talk about video games! I tend to play a lot of single player games as I don’t have too many friends who are also into video games. The struggle is I am very passionate about games and love to talk about them, hence why I am here! Look forward to chatting to you all 🙂

So, FG just officially hit it's anniversary last week and a bunch of us now have the 10 year badge. Congrats to all who have made it this far and to whose who keep the community what it is today. Thanks to prodigal son @Diddums for getting the show on the road and to @GazzaGarratt for keeping the wheels spinning 🖤 You can blame both these twats for my presence lol 🖤🥳👏🙈😍🍻😜

  11. There's alot going on in my life and more stuff this week which I'm finding it all a little to hard to deal with. After a rough day in work was not looking forward to coming home to an empty house well I have my dogs here but I get in to find a parcel for me and I'm completely speechless. It may seem small to some people but things like this just shows there is some decent people out there that still care this has cheered me up and put a smile back on my face which I've not had for quite a while. I know who this is down to but I can't thank FG enough all I can say is roll on November will need a step ladder for some man hugs.

  12. Well, the day has finally come! 😅 If you've wondered why i've been reasonably more quiet of late and not updating a few events, my PPR, etc its mainly because whilst my own work has been extremely manic since the back end of last year, kids schools and work on the house just needed to happen now rather than later unfortunately. Every moment i did have spare though, I've stuck it into this place and tried to create something that gives you all a nice fuzzy feeling when you come to FG moving foward (even though, you really should feel that way already 😎). So, enter the room, FG Achievements. As a reminder to all, the objective of Achievements (with Medals) is to help us all interact more and have fun with each other on FG, and on Games we all play - Resulting in all of us using more/all of the fun features that FG has that you might not have even explored yet. This FG Achievements system breaks down into the following parts; Ranks, Points and Medals. Ranks Shortly today/tomorrow, you will start to see that you will have an XP bar with your profile: The more you interact with FG, the better it is for your own personal FG Rank. You'll also be able to see all the ranks and how many you've got to unlock on your own profile. As a reminder of the FG Rank Badges shared on the previous article I did in January, are below. Each one will have a specific name with them that you can find out, when they're live: Points So, how do I get to rank up, Lee? Ah, thought you might ask that 😅. Pretty much nearly everything you do to interact with FG, will gain you points. Replied to someone's post? Rack up a point. Put up a video in the Video section? Grab 10 points. Vote on a Poll....or even someone voting on your Poll? Maybe even just logging in every day will get you something...👀 Points totals aren't shown anywhere as the main objective with points is to see how you can get your next rank. You'll see from your XP Progress Bar how many points you have until your next FG Rank (see first picture above) so its a good way to know where you are in the world of FG! There is well over 200 different ways to grab points (and the following medals) so please do try and interact and get as much out of this system as you can! Medals Every loves a shiny thing don't they? Well, to aid your task to reach the top of the hill at FG, I've created an absolute shed of Medals - in fact, there is the best part of 200 Medals for everyone to try and achieve. They are broken down into two parts - FG Website and FG Games. FG Website Medals will cover off all the following activity, and beyond: Posts Topics Events Videos Polls Visits Follows Reactions PPR Guides Merch Quizzes Articles Memberships 👀 FG Games Medals will initially cover 5 of our top games played in the community, however I want more added over time so will be asking for lots of feedback...and lots of help too! Destiny 2 FIFA 22 Gran Turismo 7 7 Days to Die Valheim To help you understand what is available from a visual POV, I have created the following Infographics of all the medals so far. I will look to try and make a few more infographics along the way if people want to see what each medal gets you - I would encourage you all to take a look at people's profiles which may give you hints on how to obtain certain medals!! For Game specific ones, i'll create some form of Guide to help you all know what each one is, either in Guides or pinned in their forum section. Please remember, this is an initial launch - if we can hit the ground running and everyone is enjoying the fun out of obtaining Medals, then we will absolutely be creating more across the board for both FG and the specific games we all play Website Medals Infographics FG Games Medals Infographics PLEASE TAKE NOTE Its a brand new, never done before FG System. We will have issues problems from time to time so please share your thoughts and help us make it better! When its first turned on, it may take upto a few days to register everything - it has to run through every single rule i've created for every single FGer. Hopefully you'll see your Medals grow over time! We may tweak the Ranks and their respective points targets after going live if we find they are imbalanced in some way. Most Rules for points will be retrospectively activated when Live. There may be rules we add at a later date that will only look forward (e.g some Quiz ones will be created soon but look forward, not backwards) unless I rebuild the system...which may mean you get 're-awarded' automatic points and medals you had. Games will not look backwards - this is to help give everyone a chance to focus on starting out how to get them all and create some buzz about bringing FGers together. Most Games Medals are manually awarded with the help of the FG Team here. I expect us all to start talking and sharing information about our escapades as FG online in all of our games. It helps bring to life what we're all achieving together and it speeds up the validation time to award Medals. I will NEED HELP with this. If you're interested in supporting the cause in helping, please let me know. Its about doing things here but also encouraging FGers to get involved across all aspects of what we do. I really would love for you all to explore what we have available here. It's took me an absolute age to get it in a position to launch it as I wanted to give this the best chance of hitting the ground running. I'll set up a separate topic on the forums to capture any feedback and questions you may have about it all. We can then have separate topics where we can post up gaming updates to support the awarding of medals. Its a great thing to finally do something I've wanted for here for years. Its like our internal mini FG game, with lots of fun and interaction. Keep an eye out for when you start getting awarded points, medals and ranks - it may even be worth turning your browser notifications on (check your 'Bell' icon next to your profile and enable them!) so you can start seeing them pop up on your phone and other devices 😎 The only thing left is for you all to enjoy! GGFG

  13. We're alive....and free hopefully!! The last few months has been hopefully more uplifting for you all as we enter many places nearing the end of some/most social distancing rules and also with the fantastic run the English side were on throughout the whole of Euro 2020 (in 2021, still can't get over the name not changing!). We're also entering holiday season for many of us across the world too and I think it'll be good to get some fresh air and experience some of the places we haven't been able to the past 18 months. That being said, there's a few things upcoming at FG to keep an eye out for as we go under some significant changes I've wanted for many years. Achievements/Ranks/Gamerscore I've wanted some form of an FG Gamerscore for a while as an incentive to make things fun and interesting when you come back to the Home of FG, as well as having fun online in FG Games. With the next software update, we'll imminently have a new ranking system that links to points. Some might remember I tried a while back but didn't quite work as there wasn't enough resources at the time. Now, we can take advantage of some cool updates that are all integrated with the Home of FG. A sneak peak of how things will start to look are below. This is something that will help us all realise there's always been way more to FG than just a few forum posts. 'Levelling Up' with FG can actually be a real possibility which i'm super hyped for! Medals/Badges With brand new ranks and levels to chase, come Medals to earn. You could argue its similar to Triumphs on many games we play mentioning no names *Desti..cough cough*. These will be things that you can earn that will give bonus points that goes towards your overall FG Gamerscore. Some will be very basic, like opening post, creating topics, and just by visiting FG everyday but some might make you look across FG, creating interesting stuff for all to see, maybe in Videos, Quizzes, Polls, etc. Equally, I want to create Medals to earn that are a part of the joy we bring online with us all. We have some featured FG Games already and would love to expand on this over time. For example, we could have some that relate to our GT Sport league races, FIFA Monday Night Football, Destiny Raid Nights and of course, any games we play on FG Fridays. These are supposed to be cool things to chase for fun and show off between us all and the more we can make, the more exciting it will be to interact and get around all the games we play together. These will also show on your profile and I intend to have a page where you can find descriptions of Medals you can earn. Please be aware though....there will be hidden ones you'll have to find! Maybe checking other people's profiles over time will help you work out what's achievable! Push Notifications to Mobile devices This one makes me happy beyond belief. I think one thing is noticeable that many like to be nudged by a pop up on their phone if they've been tagged or quoted somewhere or maybe even if they've received a reaction. It reminds us that FG is around as it can slip people's minds sometimes as we have our normal lives to deal with. Notifications can be switched on so you'll need to accept to receive push notifications for your mobile, once live. The only restriction i've been made aware of is (as usual) is Safari on Apple devices. I mean, you should be downloading Chrome anyway these days, even on Apple devices because Safari kills souls over time. More details to follow on how to make sure you get all the notifications! Homepage link for mobile devices In conjunction with the notifications, you should get opportunity to add FG as a homepage on your phone. This will make FG look and feel exactly like an App would and far better than the Tapatalk one we had in the past. You can then also see notifications linked to it, like your apps do. I really want as many of us to take up these so you don't miss out on any FG action and it helps me not have to nag/nudge/annoy the crap out of you on other platforms! In other news..... We also have some amazing FGFGF news we can now share as some of you already know, which will highlight how important you all are to continuing to donate to the cause of making people smile and feel good. We have GT Sport Summer Season starting this week and want as many to turn up each week to enjoy the fun and learn where we can FG Fridays will be back up in advance on the Event Calendar so we can all make sure to nudge your best FGer and get them to get online where we can - the aim has to be a huge 20-30 plus lobby of all of us on the games we now have to offer (Fall Guys, Bomberman, Among Us, Battlefield 5, Wreckfest, GTA Races, CoD MW Remastered) Raids every week on Destiny for anyone that wants help and just all round general fun running more and more of them More regular Quizzes to play! There's probably more (there always is!) but i've probably worn you out with the essay as usual 😄 All i'll ask is to be patient with us over the next 4 weeks as you see things subtely changing and there may be some down time as we update many of the applications and software we have behind the scenes. It'll be all worth the wait i'm sure! Let me know what you think of the updates, and if there are any medals/badges you wanna see we could give out drop the ideas below, you never know as we have LOADS to make!! GGFG ❤️

  14. Well life hasn't been quite the same this year has it now? It's been a struggle, even for Mr Annoying Positive guy over here. Keeping going mentally is challenging enough in life as it is, let alone more lockdown news across the world. However, I haven't stopped, maybe procrastinated a little too much, but I wanted to report we are getting somewhere. Needless to say I can't do it without you all visiting and popping in, not forgetting our home for which i'm extremely grateful. This could be a long-ish one but it will be worth it so please read all of it! I'll do my best to keep it brief (yeah, okay Lee) and maybe give you some visuals a long the way to make it easier to not switch off 😁 FG Progress Updates We mentioned some months ago here, we (or more so I, with the help of you amazing people) wanted to make a stand and keep things moving where we could to make a difference. I've copied the bits mentioned from the thread and shown any progress next to it: Merchandise Shop - New application purchased for FG so it can support the Merch shop. Early days but you may see that there is a resemblance of a shop on our Home (you can check it out in the menu bar). It needs a lot of fleshing out with way more bits need to be added of course so obviously any ideas of things we should have in there please can you keep them coming. Big shout out to Matty @Misneach_ as he working through to find an american provider so we can get the same or similar designs to save on the postage. FG Points/Gamerscore - This hasn't moved anywhere. Not received any ideas since we raised it and sits lower down the pecking order as it was an added incentive to your daily life at FG. Creating new sections (New entire page spaces for games) - I've started creating a few but obviously need a little more content to get them fully up and running. I'm considering making a few live with bare bones and getting all of you to help flesh them out a bit and offer suggestions on what you think would work best. That way we have something workable ongoing to regularly improve. Destiny and FIFA are a few i'm looking at but there's a lot of work under the hood with the new functionality to get it bang on. Just wanted to show you something to see progress is being made even if it still needs major tweaks and changes: Creating new sections - New homepage - its coming along too. Not too much to giveaway here but I think we need to have a central point for everyone to remember all the other parts of stuff we have fun with too. Work in progress below but getting there...even if it could end up meaning one extra click for some: Expanding existing areas - we now have dedicated forums and discord channels for a few games with also corresponding notifications for those games. You may have seen a few pop up in discord and these should work well with new page spaces if we decide to have them. Guides & Tips section - We haven't received any new updates to it. With Destiny launching soon and with other brand new games as well as existing games starting to get a following (FIFA, 7 Days, etc) it would be good to get a few more up. Re-engaging with old FGers - we've seen a few faces come back, and its nice to see some of the PPRs of old (and new!) being updated. Its just a rubbish time for everyone so reading everyones PPRs, hearing that you're all okay and getting by however you can is really awesome to see. Would love to see more updates and people embrace PPRs more, even if its just to read others and comment on their ones. Its the one big way we can make a difference in such a small amount of effort. Open our doors to new FGers - A few people have graced us with their presence. Awesome thanks to people like Nutty @Nutcuttlit spreading the FG wings out there on all manor of games. When you can, make sure you take the moment to make newer people feel part of the group properly. The more we help each other, the better we'll all feel about stuff going on. Regular gaming nights schedule - We've definitely picked up a few things and I can only see more to come. FIFA Monday Night Football, GT Sport Weekly Races on Tuesdays, 7 Days horde nights every so often, and Destiny Raids have popped up again too. I think what I probably need to do is more simple YouTube explanations on how to set up events, etc as I fear just because I might not be able to turn up or can't make a night doesn't mean we can't make a go of things. We also have to be persistent. If a few times they don't work, you keep trying as the more it becomes force of habit, the more times people will join for fun and good times. Ways to help others (real charity fundraisers starting with charity streams) - I don't think we've managed to find enough time to do these of late which is a shame as its something we could definitely do to support others. I did think about a group Movember even if its 3 days late. Try to get a regular pattern on sending out Feel Good Fund parcels to caring FGers - There's been a few parcels sent out. I haven't updated the thread lately but this probably leads into a time where because this year has an absolute awful one for many, i'm going to try and do what I can to make something happen, starting with the BIG Xmas FGFGF Giveaway. Comms - WhatsApp We clearly still have a major problem with how life is at present, even though we have Discord, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and our Home here to keep in touch. Whilst I started many years ago saying it could work, over recent years it proved to get in the way, as it makes us all a little lazy at times. However, with the year we've had, how many people are splintered over all those ways to connect, the inability to help get everyone on one simple chat application AND Sony royally fucking up playstation chat parties, I'm planning on resurrecting one purely for FGers. All I ask is that you don't forget this place as this is our Home. If we don't have a home, FG will splinter and die which we all don't want. Let me know if you want to be part of one and we'll see how it goes. When we seem in a better place in the world we'll see how things lay, like everything here and we can change things around as and when we're at that point. I won't hesitate to close it though if I feel this place is dying away. Any views, thoughts, opinions i'd be seriously grateful on this thread. The BIG FGFGF Xmas Giveaway Well, here we are. After not being able to do something last year and we've said enough about 2020 until the cows come home (never understood that expression when written down but it works when i say it out loud), its time I believe to put some smiles back on people's faces. I want to keep the Feel Good Fund surprises coming to direct people as and when I can but for the main part of the rest of this year, I want to do the following as I special thank you for being FG and being there for others here too. We all love an advent calendar so here is our very own. Behind each door will be a prize we will give away, each day of the year. I'D URGE YOU TO KEEP IN CONTACT HERE TO NOT MISS OUT ON YOUR CHANCE. Rather than spell out all the prizes on this thread straight away, the below lets you select each door to see whats behind each day of the 25 days of Christmas. I can detail them properly on a separate thread but for now go and enjoy whats behind each door 😄. The Raffle System will go up within the next 2 weeks for, I'll create a new thread and it will be for EXISTING FGers ONLY. It will be clear what the rules are to enter so make sure you check your FG login details as it will be linked to those. The final point I just wanted to quickly touch on is Donations. We can't ever run without them, so thank you for anyone that has donated this year when it's been really tough. No matter whatever you can give and at whatever time, its massively grateful. It can't be like this every year but this one is on me to try and help bring some smiles back to the end of this year - Thank you to all of you for being FG. GGFG Link to FG Advent Calendar below (EDIT - I had it embedded in the post too but it doesn't paginate correctly on mobile, the link will be good to go for all): Forever Gaming's Christmas Giveaway! CALENDAR.MYADVENT.NET FG has created an advent calendar for you! Happy holidays! 🙂

    The big asterisk*

Well, what a year this has been huh? I think we can all agree, to put it bluntly, that this year can go fuck itself. That said, one thing that's been a constant throughout this fuckup of a year is this place, the people that make it, and the website that Leigh won't shut up about. It's not gone unnoticed by most of us that Leigh has put some significant work in to this place over the last few months and kept the ball rolling as much as possible, whilst still being the responsible adult we all love and sometimes need. So to that end, and with FG being FG, we clubbed in together to do something we all know Leigh would appreciate the hell out of. So we rummaged around sofas and sold our bodies on the streets to be able to do it, but Dad, you can cancel your PS5 pre-order as we've got one for you. Thanks to all who participated in this, regardless of how you participated it's always appreciated and the love is always felt in this community. Happy 2020 you irritating fuck, hope you have many more years with us ❤️ THE BIG ASTERISK: We're struggling to get a proper pre-order in, Very cancelled ours for some reason so we're seeing what we can do, so if you have one that's still valid please keep it and we'll send you the money rather than have you waiting unnecessarily long. If we manage to get a reliable pre-order in I'll update this thread. See you all online champs!

  16. I'm not going to pull any punches here, so I'll apologise in advance if I put a nose or two out of joint. In my past I have lost several people extremely close to me, the hardest one to deal with was the passing of my first wife to cancer when she was at the tender age of 31. She used to get so angry at people even contemplating suicide, seeing as she was literally fighting for her life during a long and protracted illness. She DIDN'T want to die, but to live and grow old. See her daughters grow up and do all the things that most of us take for granted. I have the same philosophy on life. Depression is difficult to overcome I fully understand that, I've been there myself. Ultimately, the individual is the only person that can actually make the choice to get themselves out of that rut. I just wish people would see past the bad things that they perceive to be taking over their lives and look at all the good that is around them. You get to wake up every morning with your physical health very much in tact. You do not have the very black cloud of terminal illness hanging over you. You have a full life to look forwards to, LIVE IT!! The only time that I think suicide is justified is if illness or impairment are so bad, that you cannot function in any way as the person you were. I watched my step father go through all the awful processes of motor neurons disease, which completely takes away every aspect of your bodies functionality, even to the point of breathing on your own. He suffered beyond what I could possibly imagine and I watched the life literally drain out of him. I am so thankful to have the gift of life and health, we ALL should be. There are so many people in the world who simply survive on a day to day basis. We, in the Western world don't have a clue how that must be, yet we over complicate our lives to such an extent that we can't see the wood for the trees. I truly wish that people would take a leaf out of Mike's book. He has more to deal with on a daily basis than many of us would see in a lifetime and yet always seems to look on the brighter side of life. We all have bad days, granted. BUT that is all it should be, a bad DAY! We have one shot at this life and we are lucky to live where we do. I have seen poverty and hardship when I travel for work, and I am always thankful that my life by comparison is so much easier.

  17. Well, hello there! 😄 It has definitely been far too long for an update that always tries to deliver a Feel Good smile. In all honesty I did intend to do this post a few weeks ago, but time got the better of me before my holiday. Nevertheless, quite a few people have started to receive a few things in the past few months and i'll try and least some of them below so we can all see how we're helping each other with the FGFGF. Connor @JamaicanSteve has had a right ol' challenge in getting into more games, especially whilst he's been trying to find a job for a while, so we're happy that a copy of MW2019 was sent across to him to keep his spirits up and hopefully turned the corner with the job front too! 😄 . Whilst we're on the MW2019 revival across FG as we wait for the new one in October it was time that Gary @techno and Martin @Findmartin enjoyed a copy of MW2019 too to help them get involved in more gaming nights with everyone. Feel Good moments are always good when you can give gifts people unexpectedly and these two definitely deserve some Feel Good lifting too. That being said, Jordie @jordie1892 has been a class act supporting FIFA nights and helping with tournaments along the way. All the while having to deal with job interviews in a stressful place. A game he's always wanted to try was The Hunt: Showdown and now he can with a copy going to him 😄 Nick @Bluebear has been a fantastic FGer over the years and has always been trying to support the Destiny nights when he can. He's never received something from the FGFGF and its about time he did. So he can enjoy some more FG gaming nights, he's now the proud owner of Gran Turismo 7. Staying with the racing, I know since the new baby that Jason @JBR-Kiwi has had it not always his way so I'm pleased to say that he has also received a fine copy of GT7. I hope its well received and gives FG plenty more drivers to anger Greebs on the racetrack 😅 You might've also noticed that we have a certain, record breaking FG meet up In November (if you haven't, then you really need to get your name down here. Its absolutely incredible to think we're going to be getting some of the American FGers over, and we're super grateful they're coming. So much so, we're making sure they don't have to pay accommodation costs at all and if we can help with the travelling, then that's what we're going to do with @Misneach_ , @TurboR56Mini and @RenFengge. To help another American with an FG Feel Good smile, Hector @Horrible_Hector has received a voucher to get the Cult of the Lamb, something that will hopefully be right up his street. Times can be difficult whether we know it or not and I hope these little moments can keep the spirits up through the hard times. @Leeesh13 finally received his FG award, only 4-5 months later than expected due to South African postal services! But what he wasn't expecting was a special FG mug with it to keep him topped up with the gaming juices he needs to have more gaming nights with FG. To round off the little gifts from the summer months, Harold @Spacedeck has been doing his best helping others with PCs and to aide his challenges at home, especially with his space and organisation, we've managed to send him an awesome Nintendo Switch Cube storage box. We hope we can do more things like this in the coming months too as there's lots of ways we can help give people that Feel Good feeling. With all of this going on, we have more to help, more to try and find ways to give that FG Feel Good factor out so watch this space. We'll also likely try and do a monthly raffle for the rest of 2022 with vouchers for the rest of the year if the FGFGF pot allows us to do so. A huge THANK YOU for the few FGers out there helping out with an FG membership that is an amazingly easy way for us to keep finding ways to help more FGers - If you want to help other FGers Feeling Good via the FGFGF on a regular basis moving forward, please check them out here. 18. Zaxzar

    New girl on the block

Hi all, So. Who is Zaxzar? Well great question. Can start with the what. A year ago I was 36, and went by the name of Lars. Today I am 37 and goes by the name Sarah. Confused? Well let me clarify. I am a 37 year old transgender woman. Been out for a little over half a year. I go by she/her. I know this is something that can be instinctive challenging when communicating over voice chats, because I haven't started voice training yet. So I forgive you in advanced if/when you get this wrong. As long it isn't done on purpose, we are just A-OK. ❤️😁👌 Okay. to what really matters. Who am I (at least gaming wise), and how did I end up in your community? It started a very long time ago on a Commodore 64. A little later in life I got my older brothers Amiga 500. Here I played a game called "Sid Meyer's Pirates". This is where my gamer tag Zaxzar got born. So I have been using this tag at least 25+ years. I have played PC most of my life, but over the last 5+ or so years, I have moved to PlayStation. Of my all-time favorite games I can mention: Sid Meyer's Colonization Sid Meyer's Pirates Sonic I and II Curse of Monkey Island (the first 4 at least) Deux Ex (the original one. Wow what a story) Zelda World of Warcraft (the first few expansions. The panda expansion kind of killed it for me) Diablo 1+2+3 (I moved to PlayStation somewhere after Diablo 3 got released. I started on PC in that game, but moved to PlayStation. Fun fact: I was number 1 in the world in the hardcore ranking on my monk in 2 seasons) After I started to burn out on Diablo 3, PS Plus made the base game of Destiny 2 free when they released Forsaken. And I picked it up. And have been hooked ever since. In Destiny I have been quite enveloped and engaged in the community. I used to run PvE recovs alot (have done around 100 Petra's run recovs for example) But this started to burn me out quite a bit, and stepped back from all of that. The people you play with that does this as a business are very very toxic. If you make a mistake in a speedrun of a raid, with a fireteam if recovs, shit really hits the fan. Because time is money. I liked the aspect of challenges of speedrunning, no matter the account I was on. But if the toxicity is there, it just ain't for me. Been in a lot of the highly competitive clans, and also been admin in all of them. One of the latest clans I was in was Valhalla. First I stepped down as admin, because of an increasing frustration I had with some aspects of the leadership, and the workload. I then left them after a transphobic attack on me from an admin. I demanded an apology, and wasn't given one, and there was no consequences. For me inaction is the same as greenlighting it, so I chose to move on. This wasn't the only reason I left tho, but it did make it easy for me. The general tone of the forums, had become more and more juvenile over time. And with this, toxic. I joined an old clan of mine, where alot of my friends where still in after, but left them because they where too PvP focused for my taste. And now I am here. ❤️ Why did I join you? Well I joined because I heard of you through teenwolf, after he also left Valhalla. He spoke highly of you, and have had the pleasure of playing with some of you through his friendship over the years too. I thought that if the rest of you are just half as enjoyable to play with as them, this is gonna be a good home for me. What do I focus on today? I am still mainly focused on raids and PvE content. Not as much as I used to do. Lost a lot of my passion for raiding after they sunset more than half the raids in the game. Will look forward to get to learn more about you all. Now what questions do you have? Xo Sarah

  19. We might be busy doing bits and pieces (there is soooooo much to do 😅) but we try to ensure that a few people get recognised to give them a big smile along the way. We wouldn't have it any other way would we?? The FGFGF recently: As mentioned above, @Antpool84 has been a great addition to FG this year and whilst he's tried to get involved in many game nights, the storage has been holding him back for some time. Hopefully the 2TB external drive goes a little way to keeping his smile on his face. Huzzah! Equally, we never thanked @jordie1892 back in the day to help create and get the FIFA mini euro league up and running. To get over 40 matches done was immense considering we hadn't done anything like this before and as a gesture to one of the coolest FGers we have, some FIFA Points went his way so he can boss everyone on Ultimate Team in FIFA 22 😄 Finally, our resident Batman Chad @Riff Machine , has gone through a hell of a lot of late so it felt logical and common sense to perk him up with a few goodies below and some Steam vouchers so he can find something to enjoy on his PC. We're always here for you big man 👊 We have lots more to do, loads of ideas and thoughts to implement and we're nearing Christmas (a little too quickly, even for me), so where possible we should and must continue to make people smile with the FGFGF and keep donating when and where you can. Who knows....if I/we can find the time to muster something on similar lines to the Big Xmas Giveaways we've done in the past then we'll certainly give it our best shot to try. GGFG 🧡 P.S. Don't forget looking at out next big meet up next November and our potential first Charity team event in April/May (See Site Info Section for more!)

  20. Its been a while since I did an FG update. So bear with (with who? where is he! I can't see it!? ffs, Lee) I'm sure everyone's days are blending into one these days. 2020 has been one of those years for the history books and we could've said that in March, let alone December which is still just over 5 months away. Isolation has been a double-edged sword in some respect; its been great to see so many chances to spend more time with your immediate family at home but what comes with permanent home comforts is the lethargic lack of routine, loneliness, depression, anxiety which we've also seen impact so many of us. I imagine you all can relate to some degree? For a week or two I've wanted to write something but I've hesitated because I know I have to be ready to 'Walk the Walk' not just 'Talk the Talk' when I really want to make the most of this place for everyone and makes sense to pick up the things we've talked about over the past few years. Who knows if i'm ready, but i'm willing to give it my best shot and there's no better time to dust ourselves off in the midst of some soul searching in isolation. It'd be ace to start creating some of that Legacy i talked about in the article I did back in January. I think the best way to keep everyone in the loop is being open and letting you know a few pressing items I want to see progress with over the coming weeks and months - and I would love to get as many of you involved which I'm working on ways to get to that. Please keep reading! Merchandise Shop - this requires me to purchase and install a whole new section for FG which i'm hoping you'll all enjoy FG Points/Gamerscore - A way to have a meaningful way that gives everyone here an added bonus for being around FG where possible Creating new sections New entire page spaces for games - we can make as many as we'd like providing we can maintain support New homepage - to remind everyone of everything we do. We aren't just a Forum any more, we are far more awesome than that Expanding existing areas Guides & Tips section - the fairly new section needs some love and there's some amazing people here that do great info tips for you all that can easily get lost Re-engaging with old FGers - life's too short to miss everyone and its great seeing so many faces come back, lets do things to get other ones back too. For me its the case of, Why Not, you have nothing to lose seeing old faces and friends. Open our doors to new FGers - we should make more people aware of what we do best - they can have a home here and we can all help them in whatever problems they have. The PPR section just shows how much we have all done to help each other and long may that continue. Regular gaming nights schedule - to help people to keep themselves free, get involved and most importantly make sure the right game is updated and downloaded! Finding more ways to help others Picking up and driving some real charity fundraisers starting with charity streams Try to get a regular pattern on sending out Feel Good Fund parcels to caring FGers I'd hope you all agree whilst there's more we can always find to do, most importantly this is a ton to look forward to as a group/family. Other posts to follow but if you have any burning thoughts please shout up below - a poll will go alongside this post to ask absolutely anyone here if they want to get involved in any specific stuff in the coming weeks and months. Thank you for the last few months everyone; here's to having a better second half to 2020 for all of us 👊😎 GGFG

  22. Sometimes I feel like the internet is nothing but a means for assholes to spread their assholeness to a much broader audience. Case in point- Last week I sold GTA5 on Ebay, I finished the game and really only care for the story mode so figured I'd give someone else a chance to own if rather than it sitting unused in my rack. So I sold it last week on Ebay. First off I have been on Ebay for 10 years, have 100% positive feedback on 840 transactions (in other words I am a responsible and honest buyer/seller). The winning "bidder" on my auction just joined Ebay 3 days before winning my auction and has ZERO feedback. They bid on the auction right at the end and won it. Then 3 days go by without payment. I send a 2nd invoice, still no payment after 4 days so I file a case/non paying bidder with Ebay. Then 6 days after winning the "buyer" sends me a message saying to cancel the transaction because their game system broke. Okay wait a minute, lets use logic here, they are trying to tell me their game system broke in the 1 hour between them placing the bid and the auction ending? I don't think so. So I reply back to them in a polite manner telling them they need to pay for what they won because the auction has ended and its been a week so the other bids I had are now useless since this person won and has not paid for a weeks time. I get a reply back. First of all this person is either 1)- An immature kid, or 2) - Adult that is completely ignorant and has no education what so ever. Because there is ZERO punctuation, zero grammar, misspelled words all over, and the usage of terms is totally incorrect. Here are the few messages between myself and this mental giant today. The quoted ones are the "buyers" replies. (keep in mind this is a week after they won the auction and have not paid. I can not just cancel this, Ebay does not work that way. You bought this a week ago, not only does it cost me selling fee's on Ebay but other people bid and you outbid all the others so now I can not even offer it to the other bidders since they have obviously already bid and won others for themselves. If you did not plan on paying then you should not have bid, You need to be responsible for what you won and finish the transaction you entered into. First off READ the rules of Ebay. When you place a bid it is a binding contract because when you win an auction it means the other bids of the other people are now useless. Plus the only way I get reimbursed on the fee's ebay charged me is to open a Non paying bidder case with ebay, then wait 4 days, then after they have reimbursed me THEN I can relist it. I can not just cancel after the auction ends or I lose my fee's I paid. But that still means you have negated the other bids I had so I now have to go back through bidding again. I find it very funny that you are saying you will report me?? You are in fact a NON PAYING BIDDER yet you feel you are going to report me for something? Be my guest, because when you tell Ebay that you won an auction then did not pay they will in fact give you a "strike" because I have done nothing to you but ask you to follow through with your responsibilities with what you agreed upon by placing the bid/winning the auction. BTW the issue was already reported by me to ebay 2 days ago. And I will be following up with them. I did not bother replying back again to this obvious moron. I simply reported him for a 2nd time to ebay, this time for using foul language as well as being a non paying bidder. I tell ya people that act like this online are nothing but cowards, because if this person actually saw me in person I would bet they would be singing a different tune than saying "fuck you" because I would twist this idiot into a knot and drop kick him through the uprights of asskickingville!

  23. People have sandy vaginas again. Before anyone accuses me of talking about them without mentioning names, you can't because I AM talking about you. This goes for Scipio, James, Bees, ME, Baabcat, Tiger, Paendrag and nearly every member here. I only name these names because they're fresh in my head. My point is we have sand firmly inside of our vagoo's and we need to apply some wet wipes to them or something. For instance CoD, Scipio has taken it personally that people are bashing the game because he still likes it. Kylebees had mentioned that some comments made about the CoD community "could" be taken personally but haven't been. I've had a private little bitch and moan just recently because no one watches my videos, they say they're awseome and brilliant but the views go back down to shit by the second video. Why do I bring these topics up? This is sandy vag behaviour. You know what else is sandy vag behaviour? People constantly downing on someones hobbies or beliefs. Drifter wanted to make a thread to show of a film he wanted to see, first thing he does is feel the need to defend himself for posting it. Fuck that! He shouldn't have to feel that way. Yet he did because he's well aware of all the vaggies here that leak sand. Look, I've rambled and I'm sure someone will disagree with this post but I'm going to leave you with this: CoD is shit. Battlefield is shit. GTA is shit. Religion is shit. PC master race is shit. Adam is shit. My videos are shit. FIFA is shit. ^ Those are different peoples opinions. Can we all just fucking get back to liking eachother? You cocks.

  24. EUROGAMER 2013 Well, that was good!! Met up with Dave Cator at London Liverpool Street and travelled to Earls Court quite quickly, getting there about 10 minutes after opening to be met by a queue of approx 2 - 3,000 people! but it moved through fairly quickly No sign of Rich, Cal and the others with all day tickets and a quick call revels they're waiting on bacon sarnies Earls Court is a big place and it quickly developed into a big place full of queues! Upstairs in the 18+ are we started of with Battlefield 4 (queue time approx 1 hour) played on XBones - amazing even on those gimpy XB controllers!! well worth the wait to play one battle and I think this will be on my Crimbo wish list if not earlier. Queue wait was also livened by being lucky enough to catch a BF4 T-shirt being lobbed out randomly to the hordes Still no sign of the rest of the "all dayers" Back down stairs to CoD Ghosts (QT just under an hour). This was not quite so impressive and also played on the dreaded XBone. This time I couldn't figure out how to start the bloody game and the alloted time was for a TDM so, with a couple of guys on the otherside who knew what they were doing it was all over very quickly. From what I saw and the action I managed to get I think that Ghosts is probably run and gun and BF4 is more a thinking man's game Still no sign of the guys with all day tickets (they're waiting for Tam to get out of the shower) so we stopped for a pizza then on to the Sony PS4 (QT about 40 mins to get into the area) to try out the next gen console CELEBITY ALERT!!! - spotted Jason Bradbury from The Gadget Show in the PS4 area Once you got into the PS4 area you're given two tickets to try different games and each one was valid for about 6 different games. Reasonably good idea to keep the waiting times down so we decided first of all to try DriveClub. Stunning graphics especially when compared to the PS3 drive game (Gran Tourismo 6) being shown outside of the area. All I can say are my memories are correct and I can confirm I am worse at driving games than FPS but it gave me a good laugh The we queued for another FPS, Backlight I think which was letting you play a complete round of the game but my legs were shot so it was "Dave, gimme your bag. You queue for a go " and I sat on the floor. 10 minutes later Mister C had done the maths and had worked out with 6-7 people in front of him taking 8-10 minutes to complete a go on the game.....naah! Still no sign of the others so we go for a wander around the smaller stands which were quite interesting and the retro area bringing back early computing memories - Doom anyone? Loads of the old machines as well Then, just before 5.00.....text "We're here and getting our wristbands!" then "we're at the bar" (naturally! ) and so we have.... Cal, Tam, Jenna and Rich Rich Euan and Stretch Dylan, Kyla (Diddum's better half) and Rich......anyone spotted Rich's plan yet? Dave C, Dave (Didds) and....Rich Having taken refreshments and worked out who was who we gave them the low down on what we'd seen etc and the agreement was "try BF4" which was upstairs.....in the over 18 section. We tried but withou age ID it was no go for Dylan so while the others went off he and I wandered around the main hall and got a photo opportunity for him I can't for the life of me work out why he wanted his picture taken with this young lady!! Reunited with the others we mooch around the rest of the show, Didds buys a graphics card, we mooch, Didds pre-orders BF4 to get some free stuff then at 6.55 the PA gives out that the gig is over and please leave. So what shall we do?...... You got it!! Dave and Rich in an intense debate, about Lego I think Apparently Jenna was the only one to remain sober the previous evening Someone comments that Euan and Dylan look like they're from the same family rather than Dylan and Tam being brothers. They didn't think much of this for some reason...... ...but it all ended amicably!! And so it ended, the first real Forum Meet-Up and we found out that we're all a pretty likeable bunch who seem to get along well. This is obviously sanitised sober version from the show. What went on back at Diddums flat I just don't know and will wait to see the photos which they'll hopefully post when they eventually wake up! We gotta do it again!!

  28. So just received this awesome present from the FGFGF and i am lost for words!! I am loving being a member of the FG after being introduced by @G_dub52 , and have got to know some of the guys like @GazzaGarratt, @jordie1892 , @Macca89 , @Lurch and @tronic44 among many others through Monday night Fifa, and have even managed to have a little Cov meetup with a few of the lads which was an awesome night. I really enjoy the banter we all have together and all the different discussions that go on here, and the fact that we all have each others backs for anything is truly awesome. Thank you again guys for this awesome gift and i'm looking forward to many for awesome FG nights and meetups in the future. GGs peeps!!!

  29. Well, its been a while for an FGFGF update, but hopefully you can let me off on that, as the first months of 2021 have certainly been busy to say the least 😄 The Big Xmas FGFGF Giveaway was a huge thing for me to try and organise and complete but I was determined to do something extraordinary because of the hard times we've all had through this global lockdown. FGers received playstation, xbox and steam vouchers, brand new games (quite a few that were AAA) to play with other FGers, quality merchandise through special edition statues and FG personalised stuff thrown in to make it all up. All FGers ( except @Dan94 because of Merch supplier issues 😤) have their gifts and I really hope they've been well received and you're getting a lot of smiles out of them already. Even though that was quite a significant mini project to do, especially alongside the FG Awards (how can we all forget!), I still managed to get a few more Feel Good Fund surprises out there in the wild over that period and into early 2021. Clive @Teenwolf25 and Justin @FallenDark200 helped us massively get through the difficult times on Destiny in the last few years and helped many FGers get their first raids done and some seriously hard activites completed. Games like Destiny require people to keep the social side of things going whilst we wait for better days and i'm glad its still a game that is a core game here. A Feel Good surprise in the way of FG personalised Hoodies went their way as a thanks to them. James @Lurch has been a newer FGer to the fold at the back end of last year, getting involved every week on FIFA nights and embracing what FG is about finding the time to get into the other games we all play on an FG Friday. With some harder times that he's had to overcome, a Feel Good opportunity was open for the taking which we gladly took with both hands, so he now is a lovely owner of a 2TB Hard Drive for all the extra games he has to play with FGers. Tom @LordBaguette has made a real effort to bring a buzz around the place with his Marvel comic/movie knowledge, his support with setting up previous poker nights as well as having other challenges to deal with, so sending him a handmade version Iron Man Arc Reactor (picture below) to brighten his days with an FG smile. We were also able to honour our promise last year of getting Cyberpunk 2077 for Sam @Capn_Underpants and we hope everything at home is getting better with her Mum and family ❤️ Finally, @JBR-Kiwi was struggling for a while in GT Sport when shifting his gears would completely take him out of the race, and whilst that wasn't much of a bad thing 🤣 , we're not that bad so he now owns a lovely PS4 controller so he can beat us again and again 😁. It should be also noted Kiwi immediately sent a donation to FG related to this, once again showing justification as to why he was much deserving of a Feel Good present. Outside and on top of all the of FGFGF gifts, we also shouldn't forget we've created and maintained 3 PC FG Dedicated Servers; 7 Days to Die, Minecraft and Valheim. Whilst we are putting 7 Days on hold, this is something we'd love to see more of if we physically can make it happen but would require relevant support, via activity and ad-hoc donations to keep them going. And lastly on the topic of donations, I've started to see a few coming over recent weeks without saying anything and its HUGELY appreciated. ❤️ We all hopefully know by now we can't do all of this, on top of making everything run as normal without regular donations from you all. If we can get a few more over coming weeks then my hope is to look at the FGFGF in April and get even more Feel Good surprises out where possible, so if you can donate it is a huge benefit to everyone here at FG. You can do this through the homepage link to the PayPal FG Account or let me know (i'll get the merch stuff updated so we can also get a little bit when you get stuff from that too). GGFG all ❤️

  32. Well, where to start? The controller sucks, the menu sucks, the party system sucks, the lack of optical out sucks, the amount of launch titles suck, it's far too big, and the people I play with suck. Am I missing anything? Ok for realsies then: The controller feels a bit chunky and very Xboxy but this is probably just a case of getting used to it. The menu system is a bit odd at first but like the controller, I'm sure it'll become second nature soon enough. God knows how much I'd be whinging if they didn't change it, I'd be all "new content everybody" on their asses so they're never gonna win regardless. The party system can get in the sea, what the fuck Sony were thinking with that is anyone's guess. There's only one USB port on the front of the console, the other is USB-C which may or many not be the future, I guess Sony was also stuck between a diddums and a hard place here because we're sort of in this weird twilight era of transition between those bullshit USB plugs that only ever go in on the third try, in the same orientation as the first, and USB-C, so they need to cater to everyone and that's a bitch. We'll make it work I'm sure. There's a USB on the back which is nice, so when I eventually have to plug in an external drive because Sony's removed the ability to use any drive you want I won't have any cables hanging out the front which I don't need. I suspect these external drives will be quadruple the price of the exact same drive without the Sony logo because Sony tax but I'll whinge about that one when we get to it. The lack of an optical out has irritated me no end and seems like such a stupid oversight. This means I can no longer adjust the balance between the chat or game sound which is a massive loss for me as it effectively kills the most used feature on my £250 headset. Thanks Sony. Ah but there's a solution y'see, buy an HDMI to Optical out adapter for £50 (fifty fucking quid! can buy the whole of Yorkshire a cup of tea for that!) and even then we don't know if the console will simply output all the sound over it or split it like the PS4 did and I've no intention of spunking £50 to find out it doesn't work. Maybe there'll be a workaround, we'll see. The silence of the console is fantastic but then those fans and fins are all squeaky new and dust free so we'll see how that evolves over time. The snappiness and responsiveness of the system as a whole is amazing. It reminds me of the first time I installed an SSD, the zippyness of it all is excellent. Also doing a software update in a matter of a couple of minutes rather than hours was fantastic and this seems to be reflected in the download speeds too which are considerably faster than the PS4. The Playstation Collection or whatever it's called, you know, that last-minute shit we're gonna get pwned by xbox's game pass so make something quick! thing is great and has some good games on it too. I hope this is just the beginning and not just a ploy to sucker people in. The playroom game is fantastic and a proper homage to the legacy of Playstation, if you haven't played it, get cracking. Overall I'm happy, certainly worth the money and most of the little niggles are things that I will get used to over time, however the optical port problem is inexcusable and will need a solution.

  33. I was aimlessly looking into my screen for multiple nights here, thinking my life isn't in the most 'ideal' position. And then I looked at 2 things: 1) all the messages i've been recently being talking with and 2) my very first Private Message on here. Firstly, I really enjoy keeping in touch with you all, either on here or whatever way we possibly can. I think when things are difficult or different in your life its always good to keep perspective. Yeah, I'd love to give more to my family but actually i'm in a really good spot and i should be more grateful. I think lots of people don't realise how much other people, that are pretty much your mates that you game with and share the best moments of your life with, can have serious problems in their lives. From depression to critical accidents to marriage breakdowns to severe anxiety and then to life threatening scenarios, this list could go on and on. I'll never share personal conversations, thats not right to do so, but I think it's right for me to say this out loud that for these reasons alone is enough to keep me driving this place forward with the all the great people that support it so much. You see, I will always be there for you all. But it isn't just me. Forever Gaming will be here for you all. Whenever you need us. There's some wonderful people here that have some great views on life and offer amazing support, even when you think you don't need it. I can't do this without @Diddums @phil bottle @tronic44 @crispymorgan and everyone else outside of us that sort out the little adminy bits to keep it ticking over. The second and last point to make is when I was looking for @ChaosGladiator address in my PMs so I could send him a little pressie from the FGFGF, I came across @Stretch616's PM to me on October 26, 2014. It was a blog draft for our first ever Vault of Glass run. Its an amazing write up and made me realise not to feel so bad to nudge and nag (just like this post) some of you to remind you why we're here and why we're more than just a gamertag. I'll put his original post in a Spoiler below but I wanted to pick out a key message in his awesome write that I don't think ever got to a blog post in the end. It was this: However, Forever Gaming is not about the end result, it’s about the journey. I think it says it all. I'll be sharing this around with as many FGers, old and new as I can. I think Stretch's words are worth reading alone. And if you still with me by now, thank you. For that, its the reason why as of today you now see whole new sections for Guides, Tournaments, Photo Comps, Controller Hospital (Patch Notes below) and everything else that was already here. Thanks all for an amazing ride so far. I appreciate every single one of you coming back to FG, however long your absence has been. What I do hope this time though, is you just stay a little longer - you may not know or realise it, but your words and time taken out to read others words might make the key difference in their life. 34. As most will know, just over a week or so ago, we put into process a collection for Dave & Kyla, as it felt like a great time to make them feel special after all the stuff they've had to go through this year. The response from ALL of you was superb. Thank you. Through the collection we were able to get the following: Cinema voucher for their local cinema Ritzy Picturehouse 3 course meal for 2, with Champagne Cocktail at London's Shaka Zulu Lego Creator Ferris Wheel Micro Machines PS4 game Salt & Pepper Lego Robot Shakers Lego picture display case for Lego characters 17 Lego characters to go into the display case A Roadhog picture in frame, drawn by Greboth So we managed to get @Diddums to give us a date to come down to London town, which was last night, so we made our way with wrapped up goodies in the hope it would put a smile to their faces. Suffice to say, it really had the desired effect - I've never seen or heard both Dave and Kyla that speechless and overwhelmed, it was brilliant. What was most amazing was from their view they didn't know why they were getting all this stuff. This is what Forever Gaming has done since day 1 and we'll keep continuing to do these things, for the simple fact its the right thing to do. I know that this is exactly why this family here is such a unique one. This is our IRL family now, not just a bunch of random people posting about games. No matter who you are, how new you feel or how much you frequent the FG home, you'll always be considered as an integral part of this place. I'll put some pictures up when I get them off people that took them on the night. Good work FG.

    Lee's delivery

Right, for those of you who missed it, here's the story: Lee, Mr PMA, has resurrected this place and put more time and effort in to it in the last few months than I did in the last 3 years. He then blew us all out the water with his shirt shenanigans, something I'm not even sure I'm worthy of but there you have it. Fast forward a few days and @crispymorgan got in touch and said we need to do something special for Lee, and suggested we all chip in and buy Lee some Astros. This resonated very strongly with me and I grabbed the ball and ran. I had two criteria, the first being that it had to happen soon so the link between the shirts and the effort Lee has put in lately and the Astros would not fade away and go unnoticed. Secondly, I wanted Lee to get them "live" in a chat party. Crispy started a new Whatsapp group and I added all the people I could. I told you guys the plan and put some bank details / Paypal details in the chat and thanks to your overwhelming generosity, we managed to pull it off. I knew Lee was on call last night so had to be up until 4am, so I wanted to strike immediately. We were slightly over budget so I added a pack of Kronenbourg (Lee drinks girl stuff but if he's going to wear the best headset, he's going to drink the best beer). Order placed, delivery between 10pm and 12am on Amazon Prime Now. Obviously we pid full whack for them rather than Crispying the hell out of it and finding them cheaper but this was a fair trade off for having the reveal happen live IMO. Lee came home from dinner (Frankie and Benny's, for those curious, he had sticky chicken wings for starters and a meatball feast calzone, good choices) and hopped on. A little while later the delivery driver rang me up and said he couldn't find house number 2, he was outside house number 9. I got on the headset and told Lee to go outside. Lee, obviously confused and thinking I was more nuts than normal, questioned this but then a few others jumped on board and told him to go outside. I told him I ordered a few beers and that the delivery guy was outside somewhere. A minute or two later, Lee came back, and this was the result: Lee, from all of us, you deserve this 100%, your hard work and dedication in this place was not allowed to go unnoticed and thanks to Crispy's idea and the rather amazing generosity of our little FG family it hasn't. Thanks to all of you who made this possible, you are all truly amazing people and a family I am extremely grateful for. I love you guys

    Hand reared

A couple of months ago I was out I received a call from the wife, she told me one of our three cats had brought us a present, now I'm used to dead mice, birds etc but it seems one of them ( probably the female) decided we needed something else and brought us this. It was a couple of days old so me wife and step daughter hand reared it like a child, feeding every few hours etc the wife even took him to work. Well he's now just had his first jabs. Here he's just opened his eyes Here's a few more pics as he's grown

  37. Saw this yesterday and thought it was pretty amazing so wanted to share it. IT'S a volcano, but not as we know it. This cerulean eruption takes place in the Danakil Depression, a low-lying plain in Ethiopia. The volcano's lava is the usual orange-red – the blue comes from flames produced when escaping sulphuric gases burn. French photographer Olivier Grunewald creates such images without using colour filters or digital enhancement, which is no simple task. To get this shot he had to wait until dusk, when the electric blue flames were visible, but before all the daylight had ebbed away. Then the wind had to be blowing away from him so he could get close enough. Photographing the similarly sulphurous Kawah Ijen volcano in Indonesia, where he worked inside the crater, was even more treacherous. "We have to take care when the winds push the flames close to us," he says. "In Danakil it is easier to escape as the land is flat." Grunewald works in a gas mask to avoid breathing in the deadly fumes – but photographing Kawah Ijen still left him with peeling skin and clothes smelling of rotten eggs for weeks afterwards. Another drawback of Grunewald's subject matter is that the acidic gases don't agree with his cameras. But it's worth it, he says. "The phenomenon is so uncommon – we really feel like we are on another planet." http://www.newscientist.com/article/mg22229700.100-ethiopias-blue-volcano-burns-deadly-sulphuric-gas.html#.U4WWE_ldV15

    I'm An Idiot: Part Deux

So I get a phone call this evening, the number isn't withheld, it starts 01228 and my phone says Carlisle. Ok, I don't know anyone in Carlisle so I'm guessing it's someone calling from a place that wants to sell me stuff. I answer with "hello", and the guy, LOUDLY, replies... "Hello Euan, how are you this evening?" South African. Loud. It had to be Diddums. "Hi Dave, how's it going?" "Euan, my name is not Dave, I am Rory." My dad does a lot of prank calls. You phone his shop and he answers pretending to be an Indian takeaway. The accent is horrendous and probably a little racist but he's trying to be funny so you let him off. That's what I instantly thought of when Diddums called. I thought that the least he could do when phoning me and pretending to be "Rory" was to try and at least fake an accent. No, he phones and he sounds exactly like he normally does except everytime I called him Dave, he said "my name isn't Dave". At one point, I think I remember telling Dave that I knew it was him because there was no way he could get rid of his South African accent, and "Rory", confused, went "well, duh, I am South African." He decided then to go deeper into his little charade and said he was from Betway and asked if I was watching the Atletico/Chelsea game tonight. To humour him (he still was keeping in character so I was giving him some extra time to keep him happy), I said "no". "But we have great odds on the game tonight." He gave me some odds and told me if I bet £50 I'd get £750 back. I wasn't listening, at this point I thought I was listening to the worst prank call ever so I just kept saying "yes" to his questions. I lost interest, all the time thinking "Dave, you could be doing better FFS." He then told me he was going to send something to my email address and told me what my address was. At this point, I gave him a little credit for getting it right. However, he can easily get my email address from the site. Nice try, but not great. Mediocre. C+. Distinctly average. He then wished me a good evening and saying goodbye. I didn't expect him to hang up. So I sent him a WhatsApp: Just after that question, this SMS arrives: OOPS. The guy must have thought I was an asshole. He must have thought I was drunk calling him Dave all the time or racist telling him to get rid of his South African accent. The rest of the message to Dave:

  39. Right, I've done some research and homework. First off, I'm looking into organizing something that's totally independent from the marathon, an event which people can attend and maybe have competitions, bring along some of the guys the charity support and have a good time for all of us. I approached my forum representative within BT (not internet forum, an actual forum) and she sounded positive about the idea and mentioned that it fits in perfectly with the BT brand. Provided that BT is willing to help us out with a venue, I'd then start looking at getting sponsored by companies like Monster, Relentless, Red Bull, maybe approach some companies for catering, speak to the likes of GAME, Scan, Overclockers, etc etc, maybe get some PCs lent to us, consoles, whatever we can get to turn this into an awesome event for these guys and hopefully raise as much cash as possible. My wife and I will organize everything once we've got a go-ahead from BT, she'd be great for this what with her outstanding management skills, so I'm feeling quite confident that we will in some way or another manage to organize an excellent day out. I'll also be exploring options to accept virtual currencies such as Bitcoin, Litecoin and perhaps most importantly Dogecoin, the following of which recently gained press coverage worldwide by helping raise $30k to send the Jamaican bobsled team to the Winter Olympics. In short I'm exploring every avenue possible and will be reaching out to many companies to help us get this off the ground. If anyone has any other ideas please drop them in this thread and let's turn this idea into an awesome day of fundraising and awareness for those less fortunate than ourselves, so that they may enjoy the games we all take for granted. Thanks for reading, and as always, stay classy FG!

  40. I apologize now to Brede and anyone else that is here bashing this game. GET THE FUCK OVER IT!!! If you don't like, stop fucking playing it. Trade it in and get something else. The game has been out for well over 2 months now and you are still complaining about the same fucking things/ It's getting real old. I play this game and quite frankly, I'm having a blast playing it. Are there issues? Certainly but there have been issues with every COD, YES, every COD. Get over it. One thing that I have learned as I continue to enjoy playing this series, is that there is a learning curve for each game. Quite honestly, with all the bullshit that is in the game (spawns, IEDs, maps too large, re-skinned map, etc, etc etc) this is by far the easiest CoD to date. Fuck Campers, quick scopers and all the fucking douche bags that play this game. If you get in a lobby and you get destroyed by a bunch of campers, find a new lobby. Don't stay and aggravate yourself. Better yet turn the game off. So once again, I apologize but I'm just tired of reading all the bitching and moaning. By the way, you run into bullshit no matter what game you play. It's just the nature of gaming. Funny how you never hear the pros bitching about this stuff. And if they have I'll shut the fuck up.

    Mike's PC

I just want to say something which has not been said yet.. I had no big deal in this (Mikes PC) or Tommys, I only kicked in $10-$20 here and there, I know other like Jay kicked in much more, but I think we need to bring to the fore front what a good person Dave is. He headed up, bought, built both these Pc's for Mike as well as Tommy. How many guys would even think to do this for a fellow friend whom they never even meet in person?? Dave you are one hell of a great guy bud, and I for one, even though I can't say I know you in person, I'm proud to at least be able to call you a "friend" Dave. Living across the pond I wager a bet we will never meet, but I sure hope maybe some day we would be able to sit down and share a drink together because you sure seem like a hell of a good guy whom I would like to know in persaon. 45. I've not had any sleep...but there are some changes made as of late last night to FG. For a change, no long essay from me, no long explanation - go and have a look. Massive room for scope. Just want to hear your thoughts. GGFG

  46. To be honest, I was going to do this thread myself but ended up playing on the damn thing a lot later into the night than I should have!!! So, I have a PS5 and I can confirm, its fucking BIG!!!! I thought I had plenty of room for it in my tv cabinet, wrong!! I had do make some quick furniture rearrangement which pleased the mrs no end!! The controller is a significant step forward in feel and weight, much like the difference from PS3 to PS4. If I'm honest, it feels like a pro controller straight out of the box. The feedback system is just out of this world!! It's not just a rumble pack and away you go. Every inch of the controller feels alive with the gameplay and just makes everything that much more immersive. However, the adaptive triggers were the thing that really blew me away. The fact that the specific part of the gameplay will dictate the pressure and feedback required on a button press is just mind blowing. Honestly, this is a game changer in terms of non-obtrusive next gen hardware. UI is simple, if not a little bare for my likings. But familiar at least. No real complaints on it other than that stupid party chat system is still in place. I was able to share my Mortal Kombat gameplay with @GazzaGarratt whilst he grinded away on Destiny. Neither of us noticed and performance drop in doing this. The SSD is a massive quality of life upgrade. Load times are a thing of the past and general interaction between one game and another becomes a breeze. I wasnt playing anything too intensive on loading last night but with that said I dont really recall ever having to wait for anything, which can only be a good thing. With all the positives above, here comes the negative. Games. I'm confused as to how many ACTUAL true next gen games are out at the moment but it cant be more than a handful. I know theres a remaster of that and a collector's version of the other. But true showcase AAA titles just aren't there at release and that is the only way you're going to get £70 out of me for a game. Happy to maybe look around the £40 mark for a remaster but it feels like a bit of a piss take at the moment. The PS Collection helps to redeem the situation somewhat with a great catalogue of games that can hopefully guide the system through this sparse release window. Bloodborne last night looked absolutely fantastic and I'm loving playing it at the higher frame rate so I'm looking forward to seeing what other games are like. All in all I'm happy with it. My PS4 was on it's way out so it made sense to upgrade. YMMV but I'm totally understanding of people that wont invest for a while yet. PS4 was all about the players, PS5 is all about the patience it seems

  47. Well I think tonight we broke the record for a huge FG Friday on MW:R. A full 18 player lobby with even a few having to wait to get in. Absolutely mental. Shipment Gun Game and Shotguns only never felt so crazy and ludicrous, and even more when we upped the knife kill pushback from 1 to 3. Somehow Tad still managed to win one with 5 push backs and 38 kills. Come to think of it Elliott, Greebs and Stretch did too. The Norwegian Rage Machine. Rage quit. Welcome to Paul Slamminbones for his maiden FG Friday - fit straight in getting 13 melee kills in of the first games he played. I was proud of the troll. Jordie was back too knowing, a d sniping his way to the top too. Crispy was Mr. Sunshine, ofc you never had a doubt that wasn't going to happen, climbing the ladder only to be routed down the leaderboard with knife deaths. Elliott found Ajay's lying prone kill technique absolutely Deplorable- much to the joy of Alex and others for the lolz. Didds yet again shown how amazingly great he is at listening to what we're playing. Like Rich said, he a totally can pick one gun...just the same shotgun for every single game. No killstreak, Sniper Only Domination turned into a grenade fest on B. Not to mention the killstreak choppers. FML. I think we'll need to find a few different game ideas to keep it fresh looking forward with that many people. However, it was a fantastic night of lolz and banter. Great games, great family. @tronic44 @Diddums @Stretch616 @crispymorgan @Shucker @slamminbones @techno @Middle Class Caveman @MrBiron @fg_cal @Greboth @Mikepjbell @Nutcuttlit @jordie1892 @Plumbers Crack @Tadnothad @ChaosGladiator Ajay @GazzaGarratt GGFG all

  49. So the good news is that every person that put their name down for something in the prize list thread will get something I'll put up the winners shortly. Thanks for taking part and most of all thanks for every one of you that donated to help give a little something back for everybody at FG. I'm really hoping 2018 we can all have lots more fun and games and do lots of things here at FG.

  50. Well, I recently put this in my PPR, but it made me so excited I want to contribute it to this thread. Background: When I was 16, I got into a bad car accident (not my fault) which in the end made me an epileptic. Because of that, I wasn't able to drive anymore, doctors orders. It gradually got worse and I ended up having a temporal lobectomy done (which was all documented in my PPR on the MW2forum). I had some seizures through the healing process of the surgery, but I haven't had a seizure since. So now onto my happy story! Just this past Friday night, for the first time since I was 16 years old (the night of my accident), I actually got the courage up to drive at night. I drove for about an hour with my relative and it made me really happy. For the first time, I wasn't scared of the lights and even though I was really tense the whole time, it made me feel at peace. Needless to say, I can't wait until my next nighttime outing.
