Thank you guys so much! 🙂 We're going through the responses here and we're overwhelmed by the warm welcome! This is the bit was telling my cousin Elle that people on the forums are a different breed and for very good reasons. I'm not hating on social media but people there can be too abrasive. In any case, I am beyond words with gratitude; thank you again for welcoming us. 😄 As for the games we play, I'm currently playing Tales of Arise, was just finished with Scarlet Nexus and Halo Infinite. I played a lot on the PS4 before, but nowadays, I mostly play what's available on Game Pass hehe but other than that I also love collecting retro stuff, like Super Famicom and Genesis/Mega Drive cartridges. Ellen loves Animal Crossing but took a break. She recently finished Shin Megami Tensei V — not really her forte since it's slightly difficult than other JRPGs, but she wanted to find out what the fuss is with the SMT games are all about haha. She's also a big Lumines nerd lol she didn't know about the PSP release before but was smitten to find the one on Switch. Thanks again guys and I hope you're all having a great week so far! Interesting insights, everyone. I'm briefly stealing my friend's thoughts on the matter posted on our chat group, but I kinda agree with this: The move feels retaliatory on the part of Sony, like they weren't really planning on this and if the Activision-Blizzard acquisition didn't happen, this would probably never happen too. It feels like Bungie wasn't really set on being acquired and would still like to produce games everywhere, but when Sony pushed for their acquisition and saw Bungie's stance like this, they probably just completed the deal to primarily appease their fan base and kind of disregarded not being able to get something substantial out of the deal. Perhaps they thought they would make money out of the Xbox releases by Bungie, anyway, so it's not a total loss. But being an Xbox gamer, believe it or not, I'm happy for Sony even if this pales in comparison. More competition means better things for all of us.

I actually think Bungie need a kick up the arse because they've been very reliant with Destiny 2 and Microsoft could've given them that nudge and provided elite technology to assist them. However I didn't think MS would ever consider working with Bungie again but I also didn't expect them to buckle so quickly operating as both a standalone publisher and developer after breaking from Activision. I'm not even sure if Bungie are good, or ambitious enough for Sony when compared to their other in-house studios but I hope this wasn't a tactical move and Sony have spotted something they can work with going forward. If they remain doing Destiny 2 expansions for the next 5 years on 15+ year old technology then it's just a waste of bloody time for everyone minus Bungie who will be living the life of luxury an in security whilst other studios push boundaries and innovate. I hope this is the start of Sony making moves like this though as there are quite a few studios out there ran by garbage publishers who are being held back no end.

Thats basically it. Whether they did it because they knew Activision/Blizzard was being bought is kind of irrelevant right now. More backing in terms of financial and reputational support will always mean good things. All you can do is base it on experience for now because stuff won't change overnight. Like La @RenFengge said, Sony DO have a good track record of letting studios do their own thing and release incredible video games.

Theres people on twitter saying he didn't acknowledge the pats and they are obviously pissed about it.

Saw Munich: The Edge of War last night. Incredible film, really enjoyed every minute of it. Gave a lot of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy vibe as I was watching. The actors were amazing and Jeremy Irons continues to be a force to be reckoned with. That voice is incredible.

What's good all? It's Suberbowl month, which means there's no better time to get the ball (egg) rolling for... FG's Madden 22 Connected Franchise! For those not aware, Madden enables users to play a conected franchise mode, which allows us to all play the equivalent of career mode together, each controlling a team! For now, I'm just trying to gauge interest, but some general points to consider/discuss: This will be played on the PS4 version of Madden 22, to ensure all can play. There are 32 available teams to choose from, those not controlled by a player will be controlled by the AI. We need to commit to a number of games we are happy to play each real-life week. A dedicated day to get our games played could be a good idea? If anyone doesn’t play their games, they will be simulated to ensure we don’t stall the progress of the league. The league will start with a Fantasy Draft, to ensure as even teams as possible. I’m still looking into the recommended settings for the games (quarter-length, difficulty etc), but wanted to start gauging interest early. I’ve never ran one of these myself, so am open to any suggestions to make things run as smoothly as possible! For now, please just comment below if this is something you are interested in, and we can start to form a more concrete plan! GGFG

Hi everyone! I was encouraged by the kind Mr. GazzaGarratt to make my own introduction thread so here I am. XD I'm sorry I didn't do this sooner. I am actually embarrassed to these usually (lol even on the internet hehe) but upon the encouragement and also because I feel like this is a great place, I thought I'd do this. I also want to share something and I hope this is alright. There are actually two people on this account. We'll be using nicknames but don't worry, this isn't too far from our real names. I am Ryan and I share the account with my younger cousin Ellen, or Ellie. Or eL. Ellen comes from the Facebook generation and we're 15 years apart. I'm trying to teach her the ropes about forum communities which is incredibly alien to her lol. Anyway, she had a run in with some bad folk on some Facebook group who asked her too many personal questions, I wouldn't detail it here. I thought she might need a breath of fresh air and since she's a gamer, she'd also fit in right here. Sorry about this weird bit and I hope we're not breaking any rules but yeah, that's about it. And oh, she plays on Switch. I play on Xbox Series X. We usually swap consoles from time to time. Anyway, sorry I rattled on too much about me (err us?). News just broke! Sony buying Bungie for $3.6 billion WWW.GAMESINDUSTRY.BIZ Destiny studio will remain multiplatform, able "to self-publish and reach players wherever they choose to play" $3.6 Billion. Great news personally. Lets hope they get even more Devs to work on the game through this. Sony supporting some companies has worked very well if you look at all of their exclusives.

So they've gone with Washington...Commanders? There must have been better options than that surely 😂😂

Nearly all that team that got us to the final has gone, vertong, alder, erik, dele, lamela, rose, sissoko, llorente... What have we replaced them with?

Spurs and Man Utd felt like they lost a ton of ground in that window on paper. It was initially turning out to be a decent window with movement for players that you felt should move around. Shame Man Utd blocked Lingaard's moves because it doesn't make any sense to sit on that bench any longer than he has so far. Its obvious that Rangnick doesn't like him much but I hope he proves him wrong. Dele needed a new start so i hope he grabs it with both hands....I have my doubts though still. Newcastle did what was expected, but again, they didn't bring in top quality players. Better than existing? Possibly, but it will be very interesting to see if they can stay up still. Imagine that team in the Championship. Meanwhile, Bournemouth have tried to literally buy their way out of the Championship. Every player that a top team wanted, there ploy was 'just buy them'. In some ways I don't blame them. Let them do anything they can to get out of the Championship, however whenever this happens, you do have something in your gut that just wants to see other teams beat them with their squads they've stuck by.

Yeah lol. He's come out with another post thanking the Pats fand now, and there were crazy rumours he was going to sign a 2 day contract with them so he could retire as a Patriot 😂😂

The sequel is still on the cards. It got a huge boost in the lockdown as it made the Top 10 Netflix films. The director and Hugh Jackman have spoken about it so we just have to keep our fingers crossed. It would be awesome to see a sequel for something like this. They could do so much more with it now based on what CGI is capable of.

i remember loving it too when it came out, pity they didn't make a sequel or something, but anyway i am a sucker for robot fights, real steel, pacific rim, i loved them, although transformers kinda felt meh imo

Watched Real Steel...again. 😄 Always loved it since back in the day and one of those films I can re-watch multiple times in a year. Insane cast when you look at what they went on to do years later.

I pre-ordered my copy a few months ago and forgot it's almost release day for this haha. Never played any of the Souls games, this is going to be my first git gud game (there were others but I think this is the real deal). Sooo excited!!!

The desert horde base is exactly what @TurboR56Mini and I wanted when we were first playing. Just to survive horde night in peace and not die. I, however, have come to love the chaos and watch things blow up now lol. I think the lack of spawning has to do with no actual land mass near us. I would have thought they would have spawned in the water.. but nope.. Just on a tiny tiny sliver of land that didn't have water on it lol.

Totally disappointed in the lack of integrated chat.. Like.. what.the.actual.fuck. Hoping it's in their roadmap for 2022.

Sony isn't EA, so I'm not exactly "worried." Then again, while I play D2, it's not a game I cherish... nor do I think there's anything really to ruin by this acquisition. We all know the general grind for D2. And, the story is like background noise if you haven't played since D1. D2 is straight loot shooter. Any RPG elements that made it unique and interesting was left in the D1 era. I would be more "concerned" if Microsoft bought D2... Sony actually lets its developers go do their own things (in general) and not dictate nonsense (RPG developer - yeah, you don't do that anymore. You do loot shooter).

Doesn't look like Conte will be backed either and his contract is also very short so he could easily leave. A top 4 finish is critical and then a major injection of money is required to get some decent players in. I think new ownership is the only way forward as Spurs cannot continue like this. There is so much deadwood at the club propped up by a handful of good players and if it wasn't for the latter, you could see them at the other end of the table like Everton. I actually think it's a miracle Spurs are as high as they are right now too. If it's any consolation, Arsenal are in the same boat if not worse😂

This winter transfer window has left me wondering what is happening at Spurs. Since getting to the Champions league final in 2019 I feel its just been a downhill trajectory. We've let go of some talented players and not sure about what we've brought in. Good luck to Dele, I think he suffered most from Poch leaving and I think that will come back to bite Spurs in the arse. Very uninspired with my team right now.

So @Diddumsinspired me to do a solo hoard base. I took it a bit extreme and went ahead and built a hoard base island in a lake, with a double drawbridge to a larger island in the same lake along with another drawbridge to the main land! (This will also have a tunnel up to grade for easy traveling!). Have some punchy punches, some shotgun turrets, blade and dart traps all on my little slice of death island. La and I just did HN448 and it was...boring actually. You can go unload your colon while the turrets and traps cleaned the few zombies who gave a fuck to swim out to you. There is a nice little control room with two switches, one for the blade and dart traps and one for shotguns and spotlights. We are also sporting a fully incased mechanical room with vault hatch in the blade room so all the bits are safe. As expected, all wiring is fully concealed and this bad boy is all steel, had to use all those free steel blocks from crates some how!! Working in the water is peaceful with 180 seconds of air. bridge building is easy and fast. My next thought is OCEAN. I'm pretty sure I can build an "oil rig" at sea with a ladder down to a mine through the water. I'm pretty confident I can remove the water from a structure using buckets and dumping them out. Although this might be a bit tedious, an underwater ocean lair/mine sounds too god damn tempting not to have a go. All in all, a productive day off I'd say.
