  1. @Tar-Eruntalion many thanks for all your tips. I’ll certainly take those into consideration when we go looking and ask those questions. There is a local company that has turned a lorry into a gaming party bus that you can site out for parties etc. I happened to contact them to see if they could point me in the direction of someone who sells the computers or could help us construct one ourselves. He purchased a gaming computer for his son 1.5 years ago and has suggested a company in Belfast to speak with. So I’ve sent them a message and they will be in contact when they get their bundles together for Xmas. So as much info as I can gather up from now until then will be great as I’ll know the right questions to ask etc. 👍🏼👍🏼

  2. So just read an article that a brand new series of GamesMaster will be starting on E4 later this year, and it's something i will definitely be watching. I used to love the original series back in the day with Patrick Moore as the GamesMaster himself. Anyone else think they will give this a watch when it comes out? https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.gamesradar.com/amp/classic-gaming-show-gamesmaster-returns-to-our-screens-later-this-year/

  3. I'm open, as ever, to whatever the majority to decide. I will play it either way. I will be disappointed to lose stuff but also excited to play the new stuff alongside everything else. It should be a group FG decision whatever the decision so I suggest a poll should suffice and i'll kick the other lot that have played and are coming to this game soon to actually get to FG and vote. The only thing that niggles me is that they've asked us to start over to make full use of the new updates...so it immediately puts me on the back burner thinking "is this update going to bring enough fun to the table like it did previously?". It would be nice to have some actual facts on new stuff to create such XXX things to craft and XXX recipes to create, etc. It would also be more comforting if you could save the world and come back to it another day, but alas they do not do this at this moment in time. @Tar-Eruntalion I imagine starting out new characters will allow you to fully experience everything again, although i'm sure we'd probably want to beat the first few bosses in a day now 😄

So the Artura went by the way side as I got mired in the details. So I started something else instead, a 1961 Jaguar E-type - easily one of the most beautiful cars ever made. And I haven't forgotten you @TurboR56Mini I'm just trying something special for the 300SL but I'm getting there

Hello everyone. My nearly 10 year old son is a huge gaming fan and is looking to get into it but I have no idea where to start regarding hardware. he is looking a pc/gaming computer for Christmas but I’m guessing this isn’t the type of the thing you can just walk into curry’s/pc world and purchase. so I’m looking some help, where would I go to start looking at gaming computer setups and what do I need for someone who is just getting started with it?

  6. Yeah I'll probably watbh this over the weekend I had it set on reminder. He's someone from a time where I was well into formula one and it was worth watching for me so will also hit that nostalgia button. Edit: I really enjoyed this more than I expected, some nice interviews with his family and definitely good to see a different side to the guy that was easy to dislike when only watching the racing. If social media was around back then maybe people would have got that balanced view.

  7. For weapons don't worry about the symbols other than for sunsetting (and you can tell if a weapon has been sunset as it will have a max power level when you inspect it (same for armour). What to keep - armour is relatively easy, if its total stat score is above 62 say, I'd keep it at this stage, lot of people worry about stat distribution but at this stage just collect stuff with high stats overall. Guns is harder as there's a confusing large amount of perks some of which change a guns performance quite a lot. Also each gun has a 'masterwork' perk which can be a huge deal - for example range on shotguns. So how do you know what to keep - Destiny 2 Database, God Rolls, Collection Manager, and Leaderboards - light.gg WWW.LIGHT.GG The Best Destiny 2 Database with possible rolls, full stats, 3D previews, god rolls, leaderboards, reviews, and more. Find D2 weapons, armor, quests, triumphs, vendors, and cosmetics with our detailed tools. light gg is pretty good at helping sort the good from the bad, although it ignores masterworks so just use it for perk ideas. Always good to look for perks that compliment each other , maybe buffing damage and reload which tend to be the best things to go for.

I had D&D last night so only had about am hour to play. Very happy with the player UI and shooting mechanics. Makes me wonder why Cyberpunk couldn't do it to this standard.

  11. GamesMaster was brilliant back in the day but I'm not sure how it will translate now in any form especially with the likes of YouTube and its thousands of channels doing a variety of formats. Not sure how they could bring it up to date and make it viable and original. It was definitely a unique show when I watched it as a kid as it was fascinating to see all sorts of games in action and to see people face-off but the internet has made this possible with millions of easily accessible videos spanning nearly two decades so they'd have to have a very big hook else it'll be a dated rehash of old and tired ideas. Be interesting to see what they do with it though.

one small suggestion is that whether you buy a prebuilt or a custom one you should ask about compatibility with windows 11 for the cpu cause you don't want to spend that much money and be in risk of viruses etc in five years when windows 10 stops being updated and you don't want to be left with a powerful system that's at the mercy of the hackers etc out there, not that it's commonplace but it doesn't hurt to be cautious another point if you have a tight budget is to spend more on the insides of the tower and a good monitor and not on stuff with rgb lighting that your son may want, yes they look pretty and they are all the craze now but with the insane prices for the core stuff it's better to "cheap out" on mice and keyboards which can be easily replaced anytime than buy an awesome looking rig that struggles performance-wise after a year for example also buy an 1080p monitor, 4k are pricier and the resources needed(cpu/gpu etc) to run games at 4k can't be covered by your budget, i have a 24 inch screen/1080p resolution and it's perfectly fine

A huge thank you @GazzaGarrattand @RenFenggefor all the information and advice you have given. Thanks for sharing the pros and cons you found with the laptops @RenFengge, I can certainly appreciate both sides of the coin. But we are pretty certain the gaming computer will be a fixed location, most likely in my sons bedroom on a desk. I can see the benefits of a laptop being portable but I do try to ensure he keeps up with his other activities etc as well as gaming, so the fact it’s of fixed abode and he can’t take it with him everywhere won’t necessarily be a bad thing. you guys have been so so helpful thanks so much. And that would be great if you could share or point me in the direction of various bundles that cover a range of budgets. I do understand that the likes of call of duty etc is no doubt in the pipeline soon so I would prefer to go abit more high spec to allow for that. One thing Santa brought last year was a gaming chair so we have that!! Woohoo! But any ideas on desks would be great too. And believe me when I say I’m a total newbie when it comes to all this so what seems like simple ABCs to you guys is like a a different language to me. So please elaborate as much as you want, don’t assume I understand because it’s highly likely I don’t!! Lol. I promise I am super clever on other topics in life, gaming just isn’t one of them! 🤣🤣

    Deathloop

I'm really enjoying the game so far - it's a really well-executed concept and a very smart one at that too. There's not many developers that have the brains or balls to do something like this! I've played about 4 hours so far and completed one full loop/day, so I've seen parts of each location and gathered some useful intel. The game flows really well and you're under no time constraints to explore - you can take some risks by delving deeper into the locations but if you don't have the gear or powers, it's best to just get the key intel to progress the story and try and gather any other useful things before moving on. Exiting the level advances time as you move on to the next with 4 locations and 4 times of day. Anything you miss you can always get on the next loop so there's no concerns about that. The journal system is also excellent for keeping tabs on stuff and reminding you of things i.e info you've picked up previous which you may need to use at that specific time. I was worried I'd need a notepad or have to remember tones of stuff but it's all laid out really well. The game also reminds you of key narrative points and guides you so you never get lost or overwhelmed. The characters seem really intriguing and fun although the AI is a bit simple and stupid at times. Shooting is great and I can't wait to get my hands on the powers - I managed to get the teleport one from Dishonored for a bit from Juliana before the loop ended and that was a lot of fun and could prove useful but I have to work out how I can retain such things which will no doubt be embedded into the story somewhere down the line. Performance was a bit iffy at first and some are having a hard time with it but it's not too bad for me thankfully. Could be better tho and screw Denuvo!

Hi Emma @Emma McManus , I'm Lee and welcome to FG! Phil @phil bottle and La @RenFengge above has been pretty good so far and I wouldn't be disagreeing with him much in terms of questions. I assume you are looking for a ready made PC and not to be made by yourself? I was assured by the rest of the FG people here that these days there isn't as much difference to cost as it used to be back in the day so for less hassle i'll go with the ready made. The PC Tower (with all the bits to make it work in it) Monitor Keyboard Mouse Operating System (like Windows 7, etc) Chair Desk I apologies in advance if this is teaching you to suck eggs but you never know what people have thought about and allowed room in their budget for these things. If you're buying a ready made PC, they'll usually come with parts 1-5 (although 5 can be missing in some bundles so beware). Those games won't require a huge amount of 'top spec' for them to work, however as he is nearly 10, I would imagine he'll be wanting to be play first person shooters before you know it and that when you need a little more oomph. Would it help if we found a few links on some low budget, on budget, and over budget bundles on the internet to help your selection? We could probably help with all the rest too if needed as theres been previous topics on what chairs and desks people want these days too. @Greboth @Diddums @Tar-Eruntalion @Spacedeck @BO7H B4RRELS @The3rdWalker - just tagging a few core PC players if they can add anything to help with what you need!

To be honest we will go with whatever is best. Initially I had thought a laptop was more contemporary, as who the hell has desktops nowadays! Lol. But speaking with family members who are more technologically minded than myself are saying that for gamers desktop is the way to go. That it’s easier to upgrade certain parts with a custom made desktop rather than a laptop? And if something goes wrong with a laptop the whole thing needs replaced whereas with a desktop you can remove that one component and replace it. I could be talking complete nonsense though so please correct me if I am. I get what you’re saying about it being a bad time but this is a “Santa” present and you know when a kid has decided that’s what they want, it’s hard to turn them. And he’s been wanting this since last Xmas! Lol. So I don’t think I have a choice!! Regarding budget, we were ideally hoping to get him decently kitted out with the potential to maybe add on, for around £600-£700 but if it went abit over that we could stretch a little. please don’t apologise for questions I’m so thankful for your help.

Hi Emma, thanks for getting in touch, I'm sure we can help provide advice. First thing I'd say is that this is not the best time to buy a gaming PC. Certain chips and parts have become very low in supply, so prices are ridiculously high at the moment. So bear that in mind. Secondly, do you know what type of games your son plays? Thirdly, do you have a monitor? If not, that would be needed too, and the resolution, be it 1080p, 1440p or 4k would impact what type of PC to go for. Finally, there are sites like Overclockers that sell ready-made gaming PCs and I encourage you to check them out. If you reply to the questions above we'll be able to see what's best.

What. A. Race!!! Monza looked likely to be a good one after Hamilton's slow start in the Sprint race. I couldn't be happier that McLaren finally has made their way back up to the top. Even without the crash that happened with Verstappen and Hamilton, it was clear that Ricciardo was holding on to the lead very very well and fully desereved it. Lando just keeps getting better and better as well so no doubt if their car can just be tweaked ever so slightly to play with Red Bull and Mercedes I think their drivers have the ability to dethrone them. Lando's pass on Leclerc was simply awesome and fair play to Bottas for getting through the pack the way he did. Pretty distateful for Coulthard to ask him more questions about the Hamilton-Verstappen crash immediately after he played a blinder to get a podium. What a numpty. A 3 grid place penalty for Verstappen seems to be the correct decision (although as usual, many disagreements on social media). as its standard for a grid penalty once the decision has been made. I can't remember when he has actually backed out of a battle. A fearless mentality but it shows he hasn't grown up yet - although weirdly the points over the entire weekend possibly worked in his favour after getting a few points from the Sprint.

  22. A little photo taken in the city. The white building in the background, with all the round windows, is where I work. For perspective, this photo is of the same field, but taken from the rooftop of that building. The little gate in the middle at the back is where I took the above photo from. It was taken through glass sadly, and zoomed in quite a bit. The car show taking place is the London Concours, the ponciest, most pretentious car show in the world. The brown building on the right is the first building I looked after in London, and also the reason I have a 6" scar on the top of my head: This is a 10 minute walk from our house:
