  1. I went for @GazzaGarrattfor the simple reason of it has been a tough errrr “couple” of weeks in terms of results but finally looks like you cracked it and secured a brilliant result in race one on a track that isn’t forgiving at all if you make a mistake. Second race you were also blisteringly fast and pushed me all the way until the last lap or so. Looks like @Mikepjbell should be thanking his lucky stars that this form didn’t start a couple of races ago! 😄

  3. I've just got deja vu - here's a thread of mine from 2013 when I was trying to get my hands on a PS4 from GAME Basically from what I remember, I deposited £20 for a pre-order but there was 'no stock' available for weeks so I went in to the store on the off-chance and found out they DID have plenty of stock but the available consoles were being craftily bundled and held to ransom with £650 being the cheapest one. It was their own curated bundle of crap and not any official one. I didn't want a Vita, t-shirt, collectors edition of Knack, 12 months Spotify, a plastic statue from Killzone or a Infamous Second Son cup! They refused to sell me an individual unit despite having a paid pre-order and a promise that I'd get a console in time for Christmas day. I pretty much stopped using them altogether after that aside from trading in games for money. To be honest, you aren't missing anything with the PS5 so there's no rush. I've used mine for 10 minutes in the last 3 weeks and that was just to do an update. I'd trade it for a new 3070 in a heartbeat.

  4. I definitely feel you on the protagonist and most of the NPCs... and the story. But, I found it interesting when I finished the game (this was when it first game out), and the Reddit boards had people say things like, "Deacon is f*cking crazy... but they really did nail down how PTSD affects people when they come back from a tour." I read a story about how a girl's father was very much like Deacon in all ways of how he acted. The story wasn't great.. Like, I cannot emphasize this enough for anyone who is interested in it. But, the gameplay? That was just so much fun. Take out a bandit camp over a horde cave? Lolol.. It took me like 4 times to do it. Ride your bike while trying to not die by waking a horde? Only to be smacked by some new zombie that you never encountered (Reacher).. so you fly off your bike and go "OMG.. WHAT'S ABOUT TO KILL ME? IT'S MOVING TOO FAST!" I have no clue what other game just sucked me into a world like that. I legitimately turned off all other noise distractions around me IRL just so I could hear if something is creeping up on my Deacon to kill me... or is there was a damn Shreiker/Screamer in the distance. Stealth. I learned to love Stealth in new ways. Like, how to take out a horde still sleeping in a cave during the day without firing 1 bullet.. because bombs/mines... Lol. Or lure bandits near a horde to let the horde kill them. The gameplay was just... so different and enthralling. It made me look up the lore and find out that this is the same universe of Syphon Filter. Days Gone was definitely a game about gameplay and not so much about story. I'm sad there will be no sequel. Maybe we will need to wait another 20 years for it lol.

  5. Andromeda is so shallow compared to the trilogy. You can tell there was so much potential and that so much was stripped away to make deadlines. You can see that there were thoughts on how to really expand bases on planets.. and have more planets. The Quarians were left open for another installment. I wanted to love it. But, it just wasn't there. When you read about the development of Andromeda and Anthem, you can tell that it probably came from the same idea, then split into two games. So sad. Finish Andromeda just to put the story to bed, but know that it is nowhere as complex or deep as the original series. The amount of emotional awe I got in ME2, especially when I came upon Garrus... I don't think BioWare has ever topped that. Even when I played ME3, I found myself racing to find him again. "There's no Shepard without Vakarian." Even if you didn't play that route.. and went Shepard with Tali or Liara... it was all still "I need to find my companion." And, Garrus was still always there to be your best bud lol. So, yeah. I definitely am looking forward to doing a fifth playthrough on the trilogy.

  6. I'm almost at the end of the PS4 version. Weird game. Not a fan of the protagonist or most of the NPCs, and the story makes me wince on occasion. I don't mind playing a character of dubious morals but he's a bit inconsistent and the whole militaristic side of things is depressing. Plus they've gone with a childish caricature of anarchists which is laughable. However, driving around on the bike, which you can soup up as you progress, and killing freaks is very satisfying and draws me back. It's a good looking game on the Pro and the ambience is done really well. Too many zombie wolf encounters as they're annoying but otherwise it's quite enjoyable. Their portrayal of anarchists has cost them the chance of me buying it for PC but yeah, I recommend 🙃

  7. Same with Nvidia - they don't give a toss that their graphics cards are being bought up by crypto minters - they are just happy that their cards are being sold either way. Retailers just want the cash regardless and if companies like Sony, MS and Nvidia don't want to create a system where things get into the right hands, the retailers aren't going to waste time either. Retailers will just say they are out of stock and the manufactures will shift the blame to scalpers or miners. Now there is a chip shortage so consoles, cards and other electronic devices are going to be in dramatically reduced supply. There is also the knock-on effect which developers and publishers will be affected as their next gen only titles will be played by a fraction expected. Industry is in total disarray.

  8. They (Sony and retailers) could have made a system of getting consoles that would be fair and it make it impossible for scalpers to buy up all the stock. But they choose not to. That's how much they think of their customers, or maybe they like it this way. All their stock gets sold either way...and the idea this is a hard to buy item makes people think they must be worth getting. They only lose because less people owning the consoles means less games get sold. £70 games at that. Quite handy there aren't many games out yet for them in that respect. I might wait until the next iteration before looking at buying one to be honest. Maybe GT7 will provoke me but my PC still beats both consoles and the games are half the price.

  9. On Tuesday morning I was up until 2am trying to get a PS5 but was told the Android Argos app wasn't working properly. So I went to bed in a huff. Wednesday morning I tried with Game. Got put into a 3 minute queue, that went up to a 4 minute queue and then a 5 minute queue, which I was in for 15 minutes 🤷‍♂️ When I finally got onto the site they only had super expensive bundles with random shite in them including a T-shirt. A fucking T-shirt! So I fucked it off as I'm not giving game any extra money as they're a scummy company. My hunt for a PS5 continues.

  12. Yeah I'm a bit meh with it at the moment. I liked the brief bit of story so far, and I think they have got their seasonal story telling on point after last season, so hoping it will continue to build. New weapons seem good and at least they have added quite a few I believe, and really looking forward to the return of VoG, expecting that to be awesome. However the things I'm meh about are: Transmog - seems to be a big part of the new season and finding it hard to care - clearly been done for Eververse purposes, which i don't mind, it just wont engage me at all. DSC - not dropping pinnacle i think is a piss poor decision - esp since the Eyes of Tomorrow drop rate seems to be still terrible despite allegedly being patched, feel bad for those who have run it many times and not got it, hence why i put the Thursday raid up as normal The seasonal stuff seems to be a copy / paste of last seasons war table/recaster stuff, near unchanged Override - done it 4 times , here is my guide to anyone struggling with it: load into an area with a tower mindlessly kill enemies until tower goes away (i know there are mechanics, but so mixed up and convoluted just a mess). Helpful tip , kill things with a sidearm for seasonal challenge drop down hole, into horrible jumping section, die a lot until 'joining allies' appears copy/paste boss fight from Battleground boss fight, but best to ignore boss and kill ads with side arm for seasonal challenge pick up loot Feels like a copy/paste of that public event we had to do a few seasons back (which as I recall was against the Cabal, who strangely are the enemy here again) and then a Vex-themed Battleground boss fight tagged on. Missing the 50 level grind, always found that a blast and good way of levelling the artefact - given one of the main things to do this season will be gilding the Conq seal, that's essential, but now just seems to be a bounty grind (day 1 of new season, found myself doing Europa bounties, thats not a good sign). Still we got a new exotic mission to do and VoG to come so stuff to look forward to.

  13. Couldn't watch the video @J4MES OX4D as the geezer spends the first few minutes grovelling and saying how lucky he is😅 @RenFengge I'll be very interested in your thoughts once you get hands on with it! If it's decent I'll pick it up later in the year.

  15. It's more the principle of buying into Game's bullshit. I'm not willing to spend an extra £200 on shit I don't want just because Game are arseholes with things with this.

  16. I'll be honest here, if you're spending at least £500 for a console that you want badly enough to get up at 2am for, then paying an extra 20% to secure one (that probably would've given you a spare controller which is handy) wouldn't have been the worst thing in the world surely? At least its not buying it from a scalper that will give you the base machine for 30-50% more.

Regardless of the morality side of it, having a guy like that associated with your brand could be really bad for business. Makes perfect sense to me!
