I did a few times simply because of BS moments rather than playing badly. I always love the difficulty that these games bring and I have never been left angry or frustrated by any of them aside from DS2 but Elden Ring has some really annoying occurrences that can screw the player unfairly. There's many instances particularly with big bosses where if they go into a major animation, you can't hit them and the hitbox proximity they have to execute such moves can be ridiculous.  For example, one of the earlier bosses in his second phase has a grab attack and if its animation begins just as you are attacking at the same time then your hit(s) wont register and the AI is free to complete its grab move. In previous games, you can break grab moves and inflict poise damage in the process as a reward for tight engagements but in this game, you can't disrupt such moves because it's an animation that has to be completed. I've seen many content creators rage at things like this and the no-hit players are having to model their skill around avoiding the bullshit rather than mastering the movesets.

This is absolutely hilarious - a few developers have been showing their bitterness at the success of Elden Ring including a Ubisoft one who specialises in user interfaces. Someone made a mock-up of the game as if it was made by them and this is the legendary result...

When damn near every ubisoft game is basically the same thing in a different setting vs. A genre that has a large fan base and the developer decides to do something open world in said genre.  
 

I fully intend to give this a go at some point.   I’m just not sure when.  So many games, so little time.  Fucking destiny…

Just mild frustration plus a little confusion I'm still trying to get my bearings on the map wanted to move forward but I'm kinda stuck been rolling a vagabond going to make him a hearty tank but want to do several builds based on traditional classes (knight, mage, rouge, and priest) but still need more time with the game

I’m about 65 hours into it and I’m just starting to explore the atlas area and mountains. What a game.

yea there's different variations for the elden lord ending which I find to be the most boring out of the 3

 

lord of frenzy is awesome if you wanna be and chaotic overlord

 

and age of stars is also great because ranni is a cutie😘

I will say though I gave a personal headcanon that the lord of frenzy ending will lead to the age of dragons in dark souls 1 

 

and the age of stars leading to bloodborne but who knows From really like ambiguity in there story

 

yea there's a lot to explore in the game had to go hunt a few fuckers down in places I didn't even know existed

Okay so I just beat the game.

 

From my last comment on this I have killed maliketh, Godfrey and the final fight. Maliketh and Godfrey were both amazing intense fights some of my favourites in the game.

 

The ending was a bit meh. It was difficult but just felt a bit tedious and sometimes dumb. After a couple hours on it I learned dualweilding actually had a use so added a curved great sword to my left hand. That made the fight a lot more fun but that could just be to the novelty of it. I think the final fight had a lot of potential and I think they probably should have split the phases and give each boss there own proper second phase and made them more difficult. I then think radagon would be a really cool fight and the Elden beast could be better and less annoying due to a quicker respawn time.

 

Overall one of my favourite games of all time (probably 3rd).  All I need for the platinum is malenia but that could take a long while from what I’ve heard. I’m going to do a second play-through at some point where I go for a strength faith build as opposed to dex strength (well I pretty much only used bloodhound fang for the whole playthrough) as some of the faith melee weapons look really cool. Also want to see if the early game is any easier now. 
matter that I want to go and play the earlier games. Probably starting with ds3 and bb.

radagon is an phenomenal fight in my opinion but From seemed to want to mirror bloodbornes ending with the whole "killing the puppet before puppetmaster" with gehrman and moon presence which I can respect ....if the fucking fish would stay still but it'd definitely an aesthetic fight 

 

I would of definitely loved it if radagon switched to marika and uses sorceries and more ranged attacks as opposed to radagons incantations and heads on approach

A few things I've noticed.  

 

Thank you for the jump button!  Movement seems a lot swifter then previous souls games.  Not a fan of the 2 button press to go two-handed.  The world is beautiful.

Yeah the 2 hand mechanic took some getting used to, but it became pretty natural after a while.

Yeah, I think my first play through was about 105 hours, went for the age of stars ending. I just need two more endings to complete platinum. I didn’t back up my save so I’ll probably beat it on new game plus then start a fresh play for the last ending.

About 10 hours in, and I'm loving it.  I've managed to kill a few bosses, had a few surprises thrown at me, and died.  But that's fine.

I think I need to get in on this, i've heard so many good things and seen loads of you guys enjoying it. Never played any of the Dark Souls games though, the closest I got was 15 minutes on Bloodborne when I first got my PS4 😂

Progress update...

 

After reaching level 53, I've finally killed Morgit The Fell Omen.  I honestly thought the tree sentinel boss was more of a bitch, but now they're both dead.

Just killed malenia and so got the platinum. Overall my third favourite game of all time. The malenia grind was on the one hand fun but on the other hand long. 11 hours long. Mastering the moves was a lot of fun and seeing consistency improve was great. Plus a lot of satisfaction in the kill.
