That would be insanely good. When do we think we'll see more on the gamemodes?

DICE are keeping this to themselves for the time being, so all we know is as follows:

 

Dataminer Temporyal has been through the recent Battlefield 2042 closed alpha and found references to persistent gear and permadeath, with Escape From Tarkov working something like a roguelike where if you die you lose all your equipment.

There don’t seem to be any unique maps for the mode but Temporyal has found evidence of Orbital – the map from the technical test – having a specially modified version for Hazard Zone – which is likely to be true for other maps as well.

Both Hunt: Showdown and Escape From Tarkov are PvEvP games, which means you fight both other player characters and computer controlled enemies. This appears to be the case for Hazard Zone as well, including Tarkov style boss characters.

Uplink towers will allow you to call in help, like an ATV or robot dog, but enemies can also radio in for reinforcements.

The goal of Hazard Zone seems to be collecting data from crashed satellites and other devices, although completing the mode appears to work more like The Division’s Dark Zone than it does Tarkov, with the ability to call in an evac helicopter.

If (and appreciate its a big IF atm) the game has the Escape from Tarkov mode AND a mode which is PvEvP like The Hunt has, this game really is hotting up to be truly awesome. Excited muchly.

I was playing BF4 on PC over the weekend. Started off just wanting to replay the single player and ended up jumping into multiplayer. Couldn't find any live Gulf of Oman servers so jumped into Siege of Shanghai. Had so much fun. Hope 2042 is a good as this 'old' game.

 

I used to have to play it on low settings to get good fps (on my old 770) but now on ultra, with all the frames I could ever need, it's calling me back to play it more 🙂

Delayed. New release November 19th. 

Massive disappointment but not an absolute disaster. They just need to use this extra time wisely unlike those at CDPR! I just hope there aren't any nasty surprises where it suddenly gets delayed again until March 2022!

Not sure how much can get done in just one month, suppose that depends on what's causing the delay...but 100% prefer to play a polished game at launch. I guarantee whenever it is released it will still have problems 😁

 

Meanwhile, I booted up BF4 on the PS5 last night for the first time and it was even better than I expected.

Beta is now available for download on all formats. If you've pre-ordered you'll be able to play tomorrow. On Friday it's open to everyone. 

It's around 17gb on PS5.

 

There's a calendar event for Friday buy I'll probably give it a go tomorrow.

General consensus so far from users is that it's rough around the edges and performance is a worry. A lot of work needed in the next few weeks it seems. Another delay could be a prospect depending on the wider reception but I think they'll just chuck it out and hope for the best. Even a Brokenfield will be more appealing than COD at this rate.

Can you not edit your class pre-match? I seem to be faffing around with a barebones gun right at the start. Kinda annoying. The attachment quick change needs some actual detail - it's easy to switch but they really need to add the actual names of stuff rather than bloody icons to decipher along with their descriptions which you have no time to read - kinda defeats the purpose of the functionality. I don't think you should be able to customise your gun to this degree on the fly either - maybe add/remove your attachment but not to this level of changing things.

Ngl, i don't have a problem with it because I basically don't care. It doesn't affect me, they've not made it a big thing, only social media picked it up and then the world blew up for the 37634825628th time and in 15 minutes its yesterday's news again. If they were making it a huge thing then I might have a problem with it because its supposed to be seen as accepting, just like anyone else, but they haven't as they mentioned new specialists in their tweet too.

 

 

That wallhack ability though on the specialist...damn, that feels like it'll become really annoying if that was used by nearly every enemy. They might have to think about how much their special abilities are used and tweak them so they are far less frequent.

Maps look decent, if they can stabilise the game a little fro the beta I think we have to give them credit where credit is due. Definitely feels more Battlefield than any other one before, can't put my finger on why i feel that though.
