Star Trek: Discovery

Anyone caught the new series yet?

4 episodes so far on Netflix and I'm hooked.

Right now, it's the best Star Trek series I have ever seen.

It's dark, it's violent, it's gory, it's nasty, it's unlike any Star Trek I have ever wacthed, like they've gone to another dimension where all the people are asshats (i.e. modern times in other words lol), so yeah, fucking awesome.

The first 2 episodes did not seem so out of the ordinary but episode 3, just wow. This is a new direction.

I love where they have taken it.

I keep seeing the ads on Netflix and I'm getting really intrigued by it. Now you've seen it and said that, I think I need to convince the wife to watch this. She just doesn't like Sci-fi that much.

Episode 5 did not disappoint.

Spoiler alert

First time I have ever witnessed a member of Star fleet use the F-bomb.

Yes, swearing in Star Trek. Bravo Netflix[emoji5][emoji5][emoji5][emoji5]

Goodness. I can't believe this started in 2017. It still feels so new.

@TurboR56Mini  and I really enjoy this show. We can't wait to see where the next season goes and see what happens with Georgiou when they do her spinoff of Section 31.

There's a lot to like about it but I found the plot just a little too convoluted. Overly complicated I thought and the evil alternate universe has been done to death in Star Trek.

But brilliant actors, some great ideas and decent dialogue.

I've only watched season 1 though, so should maybe check out the rest...

I think I really started to love the show in Season 2. I think it really started to find its footing.

As for the "Evil universe", the "mirror universe" is something that every Star Trek series has touch on. It's like it's own character nowadays in the Star Trek lore.

To be honest, it's not something I ever really followed. But, I was always intrigued by it. I think Star Trek Enterprise actually did a lot with the "mirror universe". Not sure. It was really the only one I didn't watch (and the original Star Trek).

I would say go through Season 2 and see how you feel about it.

Season 3 is completely unique, and we finally get into something "new" for the Star Trek world.
