Modern Warfare Survey

Game hasn't been out two months yet and Activision have already sent out the 'our game is dying badly' survey. This also coming right after their 'biggest' free content launch ever. They've also got a few YouTuber's shilling with random positive videos uploaded like clockwork with one another - a desperate tactic used previous when a game is heading to life support. Sadly with the way IW is going, I doubt any feedback given through this will make a blind bit of difference

I don’t think the game is that bad really

Heresy! Heresy! Burn the Heretic! This is the worst game ever, it’s so bad just holding the case gives you herpes and cancer and kills your whole family.  They have literally taken the ashes of Hitler and Stalin and turned them in to a disc.

P.S. I’m actually enjoying it too.

I don't think the game is that bad either but it seems there are a few design decisions that the player base doesn't like. Things like SBMM being really strict and there not being a ranked mode, stupidly loud footsteps, designing maps so players have "safe spaces".

Regular COD players just aren't happy and they've been asking the devs to change things and the devs have refused to do anything. So players are just ditching the game. The exact same thing happened with WW2 and things only got changed when they got rid of the studio heads, but it was too late.

I've not seen this survey and I'll go as far to say it's up there with the best CoDs we've had.

Dont go slating it down straight away when I compare it to your favourites, I'm sure whichever CoD favourite is yours it has major issues which you raised at the time.

Also that survey must be based at a small % of players that have traded the game in or something because its worded like they know for a fact they've stopped playing.

Any game should send a survey out saying thanks for trying us, shame you stopped, let us know why please some can try and make it better.

Hell, I did that a while back with FG. Always gotta get feedback to know how to improve no matter how bad OR good the game is.

The survey itself is nothing to do with the overall quality of the game - Activision clearly want to know why so many people have abandoned what was supposed to be a rejuvenating title in a very tiring franchise. They are probably working on their financial projections and season 2 strategy also.

I think it's a decent COD title marred by some terrible design decisions right off the bat and issues that are still yet to be fixed despite 11 patches totaling over 70gb. Ironically, the amount of points in the survey actually demonstrates how many widespread concerns there are.

I remember getting a lot of flak on here for not liking WW2 and leaving the game soon after launch citing the lies from Condrey and Schofield, the ver1.0 rollback scam and their sheer ignorance towards the community regarding feedback. A few months later, those two clowns were removed from the studio by Activision and the remaining staff at SHG then began to implement all the feedback they had garnered since launch plus made sweeping changes which drastically improved the game. It was almost unrecognisable from the original from the Condrey and co regime. Biggest u-turn in COD history but too late in the day even against a struggling BO4.

I think Modern Warfare has a lot of varying issues that has put people off from playing. IW have ignored a lot of feedback so far and have even trolled the community for it. Even their big announcements and updates have fallen flat and caused more issues. This game needs a major overhaul and a survey like this from the top could be a good starting point to get the ball rolling. It's probably too late in the day but IW did salvage Infinite Warfare to a degree albeit that game having less issues.  If they pull off what Sledgehammer did with virtually no staff, then it will be amazing.

Make no mistake, when big Activision-pampered YouTuber's criticise and abandon the game, there is definitely a big problem in the eyes of the publishers...and shareholders of course.

That's one of the funniest things I've read in a while. The bit at the end with Hitler and Stalin's ashes left me creased.

The survey looks a bit desperate indeed. They don't have an "other" option.

Or the "Your game is ass, and there are better/other games on the market"

In all seriousness, I play MW. But it's not the same as COD used to be. I literally didn't play MW pretty much all week until the other night.

With all the updates and work and "Life" in general. I just didn't find a good time to play.

And when I had a spare hour or 2 one of those nights. I choose not to play, the urge wasn't there.

Now I didn't play IW, AW, BO3, WW2. But you bet I played the shit out of the other titles till max prestige and beyond.

I have no guilt saying that MW is the 2nd worst cod imo after ghosts.

Listen to this, I bought BO4 In January. 3 months after release. I didn't play cod for 6 years. I went from an XBOX 360 to a PS4. My internet originally was absolutely bollocks as well.

No joke, felt like Michael Jackson thriller the way people skipped and froze about the map.

Now aside from cheesy specialists and horrible micro transactions. I absolutely loved BO4, gameplay felt smooth (After I sorted my internet) The maps, Guns etc, challenges, the grind. All fine with me. Even with a "Different" controller and out the game a long time.

I didn't spend a penny on BO4 and still had a good time. Even playing solo all the time too!

Granted, BO4 is way quicker and I think you end up getting used to wall jumping and boosts that it doesn't feel that bad for how that game was set out.

I'd like to get some games with you mate @IRaMPaGe , would be interesting to see if its the usual issues you are feeling are more centered around sole players rather than in squads.

Yeah I mean don't get me wrong, playing solo probably exaggerates some of the minor problems. A bad game is often heightened while struggling, especially if your playing OBJ modes. Some pleb on your team is Camping a rooftop on Hackney yard at "A" Dom while your playing HQ/Hardpoint.

I have seen me wipe a few players around an OBJ and have no backup or follow-up.

Definitely need to get a few games man, usually play in the evening. Don't really play many other games at the moment. So if I'm online, good chance I will be playing MW. I don't mind mixing game modes. My favourite is KC/Dom a bit of TDM, will play HQ/Hardpoint. Not played much Search or Cyber attack on this game.

This has nothing to do with what we think of the game. What we're seeing here is the result of the shareholders' meetings, someone said "give them free stuff and they will come", and have now given us free stuff, expected us all to flock to the game as if they had put Mila Kunis' norks in the game, yet not much has changed. This is because they think they're doing us a huge favour, whereas our mindset as gamers is more "about fucking time".

On top of that their greed over the last decade or so has driven a knife so far between the ribs that for many people it's either too-little-too-late, or people just don't trust Activision to not fuck it up, which is the correct mindset to have.

I don't mind this CoD to be honest, the game itself is a good laugh when playing with you lot but the publishers are so far up their own arse that they don't realise that this new-found generosity and ass kissing isn't anything special, it's the industry standard and what's what we as gamers want and have correctly come to expect.

These idiots are trying to reach Fortnite levels of success with a completely different business model. Never gonna happen.

One of the biggest complaints is that they're trying to copy how Fortnite works with the battle pass and the store yet COD is still a £60(or £45 if you're not stupid enough to buy it digital) game. If the game WAS free to play then you probably, possibly, maybe, wouldn't see as many complaints.

That's what made BO4 so despicable. Full price game, season pass (renamed) microtransactions galore, battle passes plus other monetization. The only thing missing from that game was a monthly subscription as every other revenue avenue was in play.
