Weapon Slot Changes - Impressions

Be good to know how y'all have been trying out the weapon slot changes.

How is the ammo dropping and consumption?

What works well?

What doesn't work well?

What would you recommend using in different slots?

We should get more feedback when our vault opens up next week aswell.

Crimson is wrecking in pve, (especially on the quests that appear in your inventory that you haven’t done from earlier in the game), don’t think I’ve used much else, occasional energy slot sniper. I seem to get plenty of ammo dropping

I like the changes , at least I’m enjoying running around with a Telesto/Sins of the Past combo. I think the interesting thing will be those Energy/Power combos you can now get. In some ways Enrgy slot now feels a bit crowded and I suspect a lot of the energy pulse/smg/hand cannons I have will get sharded pretty soon. Maybe even the AR’s, although good shield breaking scout rifles will probably stay as they will have more consistent ammo than snipers I think.

Power weapon slot options seem a bit sparse , unless you’re running whisper/ sleeper/ exotic shotgun, there’s only really Sins of the Past or swords worth looking at. I guess this is why’s machine guns are coming back

Looking forward to trying triple shotgun, and the ultimate cowardly play style, triple sniper

I suppose the Power slot really only  gets used for 4/5 weapons anyway. Unless you're just playing for the lolz of course.

I feel I'll ride to shotguns in PvP in some instances purely to get over the reload speed.

My first play with part of the system really worked last night. We were on Escalation Protocol and running a Tractor Cannon and Zenith Raid Shotguns in Power and Energy slots kept DPS up really high and I always had shotgun ammo in at least one of the guns.

I really like fusion rifles in that second slot. Telesto is great, of course. I got out Emperor's Envy (raid fusion) and it's good. Had never used it before because it seemed like a huge waste of the power slot.

Definitely a good move for them as they seemed really wasted before.

Anyone tried a Shotgun in the primary slot yet? I've been rocking a true D1 playstyle Auto Rifle > Shotgun > Sniper. Really good fun for Gambit and I can see myself very much sticking to this type of style as Shotgun Energy ammo was dropping pretty nicely for me.
