I don't want to pre-order and I don't want to pay for a key either but with no open beta date confirmed; I'm wanting to give it a try asap. No money upfront and the pre-order can be cancelled straight after. But I agree, the vast majority of my games were bought over a year after release in a Steam or PS sale.
