Black Ops 4 Reveal

Looks like a free to play shooter. BO3 DLC with boots on the ground. Specialists are back with Advanced Warfare's grappling hook for the 'advanced' movement. Looks generic as hell. Underwhelming. No campaign confirmed so that rumour of it being shit and pulled by Activision was absolutely spot on in the end. Should've pulled the MP too by the look of things😎

Black Ops 4 is also 5v5 this year https://charlieintel.com/2018/05/17/call-of-duty-black-ops-4-multiplayer-is-5v5/

Expect shoebox sized maps the size of Nuketown then!

Well that sucks, why not just go 4v4 like competitive and have done ffs.

Did I also see a deployable titan head glitch barrier? .....oh joy

Need to see more but so far nothing to get excited by from that trailer tbh. James description seemed pretty accurate botg blops3.

Comments sections could be fun.

I actually really like the sound of it. At first I thought Blops 3 boots on the ground edition but when they started dishing out more info I got quite invested in it. Like how familiar specialists have returned with a few tweeks (Never noticed the Hive dude so hopefully he's dead... cunt) and some of the new ones look decent. Intrigued to see how the one with the dog works. I have high hopes for cod this year for the first time in ages.

Managed to catch some of it.

I really like it. Its boots on the ground, whilst being modern/futuristic at the same time. Fast game play, slow time to kill and specialists returning too which adds another fun element to the game.

Did anyone catch much about killstreaks?

3 full matches here. I really don't like the HUD especially the size of the mini map. The mechanics seem slick like they were in BO3 rather than the clunky feel IW had or WW2 had which is nice but it doesn't look like a fresh game that's had 3 years of work. If I didn't know any better, I would've assumed this was just BO3 if I saw it at a glance. I'd expect better from Treyarch in all honesty.

Health has been boosted to 150 and you get stim packs to restore your health as it doesn't regenerate. Good luck killing Johnny Head Glitcher! I just hope they have Hardcore as I absolutely cannot stand having to put 1/2 clip into somebody to kill them.

Yeah, Treyarch games are a nightmare in core at the best of times so 150 health aka 4 shots to the head is gonna be pure hell! Also you're gonna be shooting someone, and deplete 75% health of a player and then someone else on your team gets an easy one hit kill after you did all the hard work.

Kind of like Rainbow 6 then?

Dan, everything is just like Rainbow 6 ;)

I'm firmly in the camp of give it a go. I'd usually so if the pace of the game has sped up and we're in a group it will be pretty solid. It's still Treyarch after all.

I think @Stretch616 would back this up too. Maybe for Riot Shields alone.

I'm definitely disappointed with this game. Charging full price is a joke. It's basically £50 for MP and Battle Royale for me as I don't like Zombies. AND the QSing in the above video is ridiculous 😧

It's basically Black Ops 3 Remastered!

Very disappointed in Treyarch and I always said the day they let me down is the day I'm done with COD so this could be it for me. There's no real innovation here either; just some changes that mimic other popular games in recent years. They've also built the game around an element that a lot of people didn't like in BO3 with specialists.

Hard to believe this is the same studio that made Black Ops and BO2 really. I actually have to wonder if this is the game they started out making in 2015/16 after BO3 or if their new game fucked up so they had to rescue themselves with time running out and the only way to do that was asset-strip BO3 and chuck together a game out of that and call it BO4.

If this is what they wanted to do after BO3 then it feels like a lazy and unimaginative game. I wasn't a fan of WW2 or Sledgehammer but at least they tried to get COD back to its roots and innovate - Treyarch have played it bloody safe here and 4 Black Ops games is too much. What's next? Black Ops V set a week after Black Ops 4, just before Black Ops 3 but after Black Ops 2 on the 80th anniversary of Black Ops 1?

I did enjoy BO3 but I don't really want to feel like I'm playing it again on a watered-down scale 3 years on.

Both agree and disagree with a lot of points here.

Personally, I'd love to see a developer (Treyarch ideally), make a 100% proper Vietnam set game. There will glimpses in the original Black Ops but a whole CoD Vietnam would be so cool.

Abandoning their yearly release structure. That is a silver lining for this franchise. They have seen how games like Rainbow 6 build upon a title and it's business model works.

Too little too late maybe? Imagine if they adopted this with BO1 or BO2, or even MW2, please let this franchise die already, or MW3. Keep supporting those games, adding maps etc and they could've ran for years :(

MW2, please let this franchise die already, in particular could've easily ran for 3-5 years at least after release. Especially with the absolute grind of 70 ranks 😁

Same could have been said about Rainbow Six Siege which was plagued by a half working game and hackers. Their current earnings call shows that long term support for video games outside of yearly releases are not only profitable but of higher quality than games. Hell Rainbow 6 is built on a weak engine according to Ubisoft and they plan to support this game for at least 5 years.

I will never defend a COD game, I agree, they should die. However, you need to give credit when credit is due. Late to the party, but a step into the right direction.
