Usually when I've bought games from GAME previous; I always get it on release day bang on and was expecting the same today. So bloody annoying! Yeah, I haven't bought any DLC yet and probably wont either or until I get it in one pack at a reasonable price. There were pretty much 3 major expansions within the first 5 months that were blatantly withheld material and now it's practically one a month plus other cosmetic and race add-ons which is outrageous. Game isn't a year old and there's £50 of DLC so far and probably another few hundreds worth this year also. The base game is decent but empty and its the DLC that's being held to ransom that is essential for the experience but I'm not paying top dollar for the privilege. I still haven't gotten over Sega's DLC antics with the first one and don't think I even surpassed the 10 hour playtime barrier it was that annoying. The second game annoyingly looks like something I'd want to play too. I am still tempted to get it if I can grab it for under £25 without giving Sega a penny direct too. There does seem to be enough meat in the base game this time around particualrly surrounding the campaign and the races look interersting and varied enough without having to rely on DLC to bolster the experience. I can confidently say your payment to enjoyment ratio will be pretty similar. Plus, CA went all out in adding distinct mechanics and generally upgrading the 4 base races to the very high standard set by the most recent Warhammer 1 DLC. The reviews are coming in and the game is outright amazing and a major improvement on the first. The combined campaign also releases in the coming months for owners of the first two games and should be an incredible experience.
