I say why not mate, nothing wrong with sharing your opinion out there. I think the FG Film Club shows that something a little different and fun around all the games we play (and isolation) is good when people interact and mention what they liked/disliked about it - usually watching things years later can give you different perspectives and pick up extra little added bonuses. You doing something similar may help peak interest in other films people may have dismissed in the past. You can always help support me pick some films for future weeks at FG mate. I'd love some support on it.

Sounds good will have a think about some out there films that are not widely known and PM you.

The decent part 1 and 2.

The first film is massively underrated for the budget they had for the film some jump scares and should of ended where a sequel could not happen as the second film just did not do it for me quite boring and was not needed.

The cave

This came out the same year as the decent and is almost just alike with minimal differences and with a few well know actors this should of been better than the decent as it didn't have known actors but the cave was just a B movie at best.

I always go back to these 3 films once in a while to watch mainly due to the fact there's not many caving films out there but in all the first decent is one to watch part 2 i would not bother and the same with the cave.

Candyman

This came out in 1992 and still holds up today.

Haven't watched this in about 15 years to which i am not sure why i haven't watched it in so many years since i last watched it.

Was planning on watching 2 and 3 but vaguely remember how bad they were but there is a remake of the first on its way.

But it's one of them horror films everyone needs to watch at least once.

Sunshine

Mostly story related abuot a mission to create a star within our star but the mission doesn't quite go to plan.

The music (adagio in D minor)really fits in with the film and the scene.

I was close to rewatching battlestar galactica again for maybe the 10th time  and only finished it about 3 months ago but as i haven't watched The big bang theory from start to finish settled for that and after that i might actually start game of thrones as i've never watched it  and after that vikings another i've not watched.

I remember no one would say candyman 3 times in a mirror after watching that film. Vikings is excellent.

Watched The Mask for the first time in ages. Whatever you think of Jim Carrey, you have to admit he can do so many random faces and actions its mental. Also, it reminded me of where the hell did Cameron Diaz go?

Finally watched the joker, so glad I didn't pay for that. Don't get me wrong Joachim Phoenix acting was excellent but I'm not into this arty stuff personally.

Yeah, I'm with you on that. Its why I've never been drawn to it alongside seeing an enemy grow up into something im supposed to not like. Sometimes making things a little too real in superhero land just doesn't quite work out. Sorry for liking the stereotypical too much 🤷‍♂️

Yes, we're on holiday. So what do you watch with the family at night? Kindergarten Cop of course!

Don't hate me, its an awesome family film, even if it was badged as a 15!?!

I just saw a quite sad and pathetic character while watching the film that people possibly wouldn't really be scared of, contrast with the Heath Ledger character from the Christian Bale batman trilogy came across as avreal psychopath, even the one from the TV series worked better imo.

Watched RockNRolla, a Guy Ritchie film way back from 2008. It was very Lock Stock / Snatch esque, slightly cheaper version but it still worked. Way back then, Gerard Butler, Idris Elba and Tom Hardy we're clearly not as big as they are now so it was pretty cool to see them all together. Thandie Newton too 👀 Sarcastic, action movies work for me.

I keep considering watching this as I haven't seen it however other things keep leap frogging it. Will get round to it one day.

Only been watching the Big bang theory for 3 weeks and almost done and i'm about half way through season 11.

This should of ended a lot sooner  started getting boring at about the 5/6 season and from what i've been reading it was scheduled for another 2 seasons but the actor played by sheldon wanted to quit acting so they finished it with on 12 seasons.

Next TV show could be dragon ball then dragon ball z then end it with dragon ball super and looking this will take me easily 3 months but the way i go through films/tv shows will finish it a lot sooner.

Watched Venom on Netflix.

Infuriating film, as it has elements about it that make you think it could be really good if done right. I don't think Tom Hardy, a good actor he may be, is a good fit for this role and the script was designed for 12 year olds who haven't seen the same formula a million times before.

One of those Marvel ones done by Sony. Venom is a huge character that many kids love - the film though was a 15 rating so it was trying to be rough around the edges but didn't quite hit the spot. I agree with you though, I think the main issue was picking Tom Hardy as Venom. He didn't suit the in-world character even though by the end when he was Venom that was pretty much what i'd expect. No doubt Venom 2 will be an instant hit because of how this was made, rather than being a 10/10 film.

Couple of films I enjoyed last week .

On sky le man 66 or ford v Ferrari, Christian Bale played Ken Miles really well imo. Even knowing the story it was an entertaing couple of hours.

Prime.

The gentleman, truly typical Guy Ritchie yarn

Weeman another based on real people film, also a decent enough story.

I really enjoyed The Big Bang Theory but it started going downhill around when Penny got her haircut short. I'm not blaming that for the decline in quality but as the characters got older and gew up, the show seemed to get dumber and it went from a credible real-life comedy into some cheap sitcom with lots of simple humour where the characters really began to irritate and ideas were thin.

I think season 8 onward marked the decline, plus the actors were getting exceptionally greedy in their wage demands - something like $600,000 to $1m an episode with even fringe characters earning six-figures in the latter seasons.  Some of the later episodes were horrendous and they introduced so many pointless new characters and gave previous fringe ones larger roles which didn't expand or freshen up the show.

Credit to Jim Parsons for leaving and missing out on potentially $40m but he knew the show had gone as far as it could. Two more seasons and its legacy would have been completely ruined.

I think they tried to make her character more series but failed massively but i wish they did a one off episode to finish it on a high instead of leaving it open but thats my issue with tv shows can't stand it when they leave it open.

Watched platoon the other night haven't seen it for about 20 years and forgot how annoying the song adagio for strings was in it being played almost every 10 minutes but other than that there is a couple of other issues with the film but would of been better if full metal jacket didn't come out the following year.

I'm a sucker for end of the world/disaster films and one i keep going back to is 2012 not sure why as it's over the top poor acting and a shower of shit and i even went to the cinema to watch it.

Blood sport kickboxer and best of the best love these 3 films always end up watching these at least 3 times a year even if blood sport has that annoying scene with little van dam with the sword.

And my monthly film Dead man's shoes.

This is one film every film fan needs to watch the acting is pretty poor in a couple of scenes but it out weights it just for the story and if you've never seen it you might think he goes over the top with revenge until you seen how the film finishes.

Been meaning to leave a review for a few films recently.

Tenet. Very good film for action and original story. As with most recent Christopher Nolan films it is shot and directed very well with a good cast of characters and great dialogue, though quick explanations are used to cover the more scientific principles of the backwards action.

Lemans 66: Great car porn. Obviously a very American version of events but to be expected when dealing with a historic “victory” over the Europeans. That being said very good chemistry and individual performances from Damon and Bale, and some good racing (and crashes too).

Bad Boys for life: I have greatly enjoyed this franchise, but can’t say I was as happy with this film as I wanted to be. There’s still a lot of action and a great relationship between Smith and Lawrence, but just found the whole back story of it all a little off, given they have been partners since they joined. Still some very good scenes and good plot twists but not happy with the route they went with the story and you can tell it isn’t directed by Michael Bay. Again a good film, but just not as epic as I’d hoped.

I loved this film so watched it twice already.

Outside watching Elf and Die Hard 1, 2 and 3 yet again because why the hell not, its been difficult to find any movies of late. Started to watch the new Netflix space film with George Clooney in it last night but I was shattered so will finish over the next few days.
