  1. It looks like Sony as well as a Tencent subsidiary have bought shares in From Software. 14% and 16% each. Also, Netease has bought Quantic Dream for an undisclosed amount. Who will be next? I'm still shocked Sony hasn't tried to buy Square Enix yet. Tencent, Sony Collectively Acquire 30 Percent Of Elden Ring Developer From Software WWW.GAMEINFORMER.COM The Kadokawa Corporation is still by far the largest shareholder, though. Detroit: Become Human Dev Quantic Dream Acquired By NetEase WWW.GAMEINFORMER.COM NetEase first invested in the studio three years ago.
  2. Hopefully this will improve the current party system for PlayStation users. Sony Announces New Partnership With Discord WWW.GAMEINFORMER.COM Sony President and CEO Jim Ryan voiced his excitement for the new agreement between the two...
  3. Apparently there is demos available early in the US for Crash. Also Gamestop and Best Buy stores over there have stock available. If any North American folk couod let us know if its around and/or if they've had a go to let us know how it looks and plays? I never was a big fan of Crash. Just something about it was not appealing to me - I think it was how the levels played out and the view. Happy to give it a go now I'm a little wiser about games.
  4. Your PlayStation 4 dashboard will soon host a Tournaments feature, in collaboration with ESL. Xbox One recently got a Tournaments feature of its own, but Sony's partnership with ESL, the world's largest esports company, is an intriguing point of differentiation. Announcing the feature, ESL said users would be able to find and participate in competitions it organises, which will number in the hundreds every week and be open to PS4 users around the world. "We're incredibly excited to be able to offer this seamlessly integrated solution for the most passionate esports fans," ESL exec Marcel Menge said. "In the partnership with Sony Interactive Entertainment, we're going to host hundreds of weekly tournaments for players from any corner of the world. Anyone who wants to try their hand at competitive gaming, can now easily do so across a wide variety of titles." NBA 2K17, Mortal Kombat X and Project Cars will be among the first games to support tournaments when it launches in the near future - but there's no word yet on a specific date.
  5. Hey guys, This thread is for our usual banter. Enjoy! Xbox 360, PC, PS3, PS4, & Xbox One (if there is any), [|FG|] members all welcome.
  6. So my Dualshock 4s have both been playing up recently so I decided to have a look inside and see if I can fix the sticking buttons and just look at how hard or easy it would be to replace the sticks... As soon as I opened it I saw this... Now that white tape looking stuff has connectors on both ends, so I'm assuming there's wires in there, and just look how creased and screwed up it is. It connects the main motherboard and a smaller one, the smaller one seems to be connected to the light bar and the USB charging port. My remotes both have problems charging, sometimes they just don't charge and I was wondering would the state of this connector be affecting the charging? I'm pretty sure it's not meant to be in such a state...
  7. Ashley Johnson voiced the role of Ellie in The Last of Us video game. The film, announced in March, is still early in development, and the actress is yet to sign on to the role. Sam Raimi, the director of the original Evil Dead and Spider-Man trilogies, is set to produce. Naughty Dog's creative director and writer Neil Druckmann will pen the script. The script will have some changes from the game's story. Initially Druckmann wanted the film to have a different ending, but Raimi convinced the writer otherwise. According to Druckmann, Naughty Dog has final approval on both the casting and directing of the film. The news comes shortly after the announcement of a release date for the Uncharted film, another adaptation of a Naughty Dog game. http://www.polygon.com/2014/7/25/5937609/the-last-of-us-movie-announced
  8. So who's looking forward to this then? Have a trailer: ------ Personally, I'm not too bothered, but if they manage to bring the same level of gameplay back as GT3, then I'll be all over this. GT5 was a massive disappointment for me, probably because it was delay after delay, only to be handed a game that felt unfinished, with only a percentage of the cars being premium, the sounds were crap, to name but a few things. I'm fairly certain that this was mainly because we spent years building up hype whilst they tweaked and tuned, only for someone in their PR department to pull the plug and tell Polyphony to release it fast. Due to that, things that were still in the works were rushed off and we got a disappointing game as a result. This is also the 15th anniversary game of Gran Turismo. How the years have flown by, it seems like just a couple of years ago that I sat in awe looking at those square wheels on the original Playstation. Make it a good one Polyphony, and more importantly, make it on time. GT6 is for the PS3.
  9. Anonymous development sources say PlayStation 4 is up to 50 percent faster than the Xbox One in certain key areas. Anonymous developer sources have indicated that the PlayStation 4 is "noticeably faster" than the Xbox One in key performance areas, according to UK magazine Edge. Memory reads on PlayStation 4 are 40-50 percent faster than Xbox One, says the report, and the arithmetic logic unit (ALU) on Sony's graphic card is also said to be twice as fast than its next-gen competition. A basic example given by one developer is that a current multiplatform title can run at a resolution of 1920x1020 at 30fps on PlayStation 4, but that on Xbox One the framerate will drop to 20-something at the lower resolution of 1600x900. “Xbox One is weaker and it's a pain to use its ESRAM,” added another developer. Microsoft's efforts to bump up the specifications of the Xbox One--such as beefing up the processor to 1.75GHz from 1.6GHz--are said to have been done in an effort to close the gap between the two next-gen consoles. Both Microsoft and Sony are said to be working on improving their graphics drivers, too, and will continue doing so right up until launch and beyond. Xbox One is said to be faster in other areas, however. “Let’s say you are using procedural generation or raytracing via parametric surfaces--that is, using a lot of memory writes and not much texturing or ALU--Xbox One will be likely be faster,” concluded one developer. The Edge report concludes that there will be little performance difference between PlayStation 4 and Xbox One launch titles, as developers struggle to hit tight deadlines, and adds that ensuring parity between console version could become a political matter, with publishers not wanting to upset either platform holder by releasing inferior versions. One developer added that it rarely makes financial sense to optimise a multiplatform game for one particular platform. “It would be totally fine for us to make one version prettier without any political difficulties but it usually doesn't make financial sense,” said the developer, “unless it’s a very simple tweak.” Microsoft will launch the Xbox One on November 22, with Sony opting to release the PlayStation 4 in North America on November 15 and on November 29 in Europe.
