  1. Morning FG! January's been one of those months for me but also a lot of people here. I apologise in advance for not being around enough to positively kick you all up the arse to have fun and be merry. I'm hoping a new month ahead and the seeing the games coming out over recent months will give us some fresh playtime fun to get some groups together. I learnt alot about last year, we had a lot of grouping together, did far more activities and game nights across multiple games...actually more than the days we started playing Destiny 1 without it feeling like it! That doesn't mean it didn't take a ton of effort though to sort. Physically and mentally. We hit over 100k posts at FG and I also learned at the end of year our average age of FG is 33. Probably not surprising to regulars but it also shows why we're active at some parts of the year and not in others. The post count states though show we have something we should keep going for the sake of everyone's home from home. We got a bit of feedback from some of you - thank you massively for doing that survey I created. Overall rating out of 10 was 8.29. That surprised me. Can't deny theres a few low scores in that average and that backs up my sentiment that I always think we can make FG far better than it is so it's a place to look forward to stopping by. Things that people have asked want more of: • More threads on various topics • More FG videos • The attitude we all have to one another to help • More events • More PC Gaming • Quizzes Things that people have asked to look into as they need more work, in no particular order: • Calendar and also how to make events more accessible • Grouping up online • More diversity across gamers and countries • More interaction on posts • Consolidate dead spaces on forum • Integration with all parts of FG • More social presence • Images • Streaming • The battle between WhatsApp and use of any FG elements • More people • More regular people • Grab back existing groups of members I'm going to start looking at getting an FG Roadmap installed so you can all see what we're hoping to do in the future and how close we are getting it. We'll also have a suggestion tracker so you can continue to add ideas but in an easier way. Ultimately, we just need to group together and #makeFGgreatagain. I haven't got shirts or some fluffy thing to get you back over to FG like a few years ago. I'd hope that's not needed to make you enjoy this place and that's not why I did that sentiment (although a merch shop wouldn't go a miss). Let us know your thoughts as you'll start to see multiple changes in February. Thank you for continuing to always be here and enjoying staying around any part of FG. Website, Discord, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, the lot. Oh and TLDR: #makeFGgreatagain if that wasn't already clear. GGFG
  2. DESTINY 2 UPDATE 2.0.5 20h - Destiny Dev Team Sandbox Weapons Malfeasance Increased Explosive Shadow detonation damage Increased damage against Taken and invaders Wish-Ender Increased base Wish-Ender damage Fixed an issue where Wish-Ender’s Broadhead perk would not activate properly, which would result in a loss of damage Wish-Ender's Queen's Wrath perk effects are now more readable and consistent Trace Rifles Now spawn with 50 ammo in the Crucible Now benefit from the following armor perks: Auto Rifle Loader Unflinching Auto Rifle Aim Auto Rifle Targeting Precision Weapon Targeting Auto Rifle Dexterity Increased Sword damage in PvE Increased Fusion Rifle damage in PvE Proximity Grenades now have a stat penalty to blast radius Reduced the amount by which Full Choke narrows projectile spread Changed the Dynamo and Distribution perks Players will need to activate their class ability in proximity to at least one enemy to gain the benefit Increased the energy gain by 20% to compensate slightly for the new requirement Fixed an issue where Dynamo’s effect was not scaling based on the player’s class type; the Distribution perk had this, but it was unintentionally left out of Dynamo General Increased visibility through a Titan’s Banner Shield for allies The White Nail perk should no longer occasionally activate before the player achieves the required number of precision hits Fixed an issue where the SUROS Regime scope was opaque yellow Fixed an issue where Polaris Lance’s The Perfect Fifth perk was not triggering Combatants General Fixed an issue where Vex Cyclopes weren’t attacking players Fixed an issue where Hive Knights and Taken Vandals were not using special abilities Activities Crucible Breakthrough Decreased attacker respawn time from 7 seconds to 5 seconds after the Breaker is deployed Modified the game rules to prevent teams from forcing the round into a stalemate: In the initial fight over the Breaker, the team with the most capture progress (high-water mark) will win the Breaker if time runs out without any Breaker progress present. There will still be overtime if time runs out with progress present, and the Breaker will go to the team with current progress at the end of 30 seconds, or to the high-water mark if progress reaches zero with no players on the Breaker. While a team is hacking the other team’s Vault, progress decay accelerates gradually during Sudden Death for up to 30 seconds, after which the round will end the moment no attackers are present in the capture zone. If the round ends in a draw twice, the match ends in a tie. Neither team will get Glory points from this scenario. Win Streaks are maintained. Gambit Sleeper Simulant now gains less ammo from Heavy ammo crates on the wall in Gambit (now 2, down from 4) Swords now gain more ammo from Heavy ammo crates on the wall in Gambit (now 12, up from 6) Fixed an issue where sometimes one team’s invasion portal would not open Fixed an issue where sometimes the wrong team would be credited for defeating the Ascendant Primeval Increased the spawn rate of the Ascendant Primeval Servitor The Gambit ship and Sparrow are no longer guaranteed drops Quitter protection Fixed an issue where matchmaking would sometimes result in players being kicked from Gambit matches, thus triggering quitter penalties Quitter penalties have been reenabled Players will now receive two warnings before they are suspended from Gambit Players will not be immediately suspended on the first match of the day if they quit a match the night before Increased suspension time to 30 minutes General Fixed an issue where players could play the strike “The Corrupted” with a six-player fireteam Items and Economy Exotic Duplicate Weighting When a player receives an Exotic, we now take into account all Exotics the player has found and weight them against Exotics they have yet to acquire. This lowers the player’s chances of receiving Exotics they already own. Exotics that the player does not yet own are individually weighted much higher than duplicate Exotics When receiving duplicate Exotics, the player is more likely to earn armor pieces as these have randomly rolled perks Removed quest Exotic weapons from the Exotic engram loot pool Worldline Zero Ace of Spades Wish-Ender One Thousand Voices Malfeasance Lord of Wolves The Chaperone Enhancement Cores Renamed Masterwork Cores to Enhancement Cores Enhancement Cores are now awarded by Scrapper bounties and six of the Spider's weekly bounties Enhancement Cores will be more visible in the loot feed General Banshee-44 now accepts up to 25 Gunsmith Materials at a time Removed hold time for the Spider’s material exchange interactions Increased the stack size of Ghost Fragments from 10 to 20 Reduced shader dismantle time from 1 second to 0.25 seconds Fixed an issue where the Secret Victories emblem was using the wrong tracker description It now correctly displays as “Ascendant chests looted” The requirements for the Queen’s Bounty “Purification Ritual” have been clarified and now list the target as “Abyssal Champions” instead of “Swordbearing Knights” Raid challenge bounties now rotate in a fixed, round-robin fashion Nightfall unique rewards will drop more consistently; the longer players go without a unique drop, the higher their chances of a unique reward on their next Nightfall completion The chance resets once a player receives any Nightfall unique reward PC General Text chat auto-fade can now be toggled on or off in the Gameplay settings menu; when turned off, text chat will never automatically fade out, even after a period of inactivity
  3. I checked my latest games I've been playing for updates and stumbled on GT Sport having a big 2.5GB update. Looks like a free update with 1 new racetrack and 9 new cars available, plus a couple of new events: Track Spanish Grand Prix - Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya Cars Ferrari GTO ’84 Pagani Zonda R ’09 Maserati GranTurismo S ’08 Honda EPSON NSX ’08 Lexus PETRONAS TOM’S SC430 ’08 Nissan XANAVI NISMO GT-R ’08 MINI Cooper S ’05 Jaguar E-type Coupé ’61 Subaru Impreza 22B-STi Version ’9 GT League Events the MINI Challenge X2014 Nations Cup Might have a nose at that Subaru and the Jag. Top free update that I wasn't expecting. Nice to see lots of support for this game still being offered, it's more popular still than I realised.
  4. Oct. 30 Update: MP Balancing Pass, Blackout & Zombies Updates, Gun Game + More This is a huge update so enjoy the read. We’ve made the following updates to the game today on consoles (PC update to follow shortly with additional PC-specific changes and improvements): Multiplayer Playlist Updates Featured Playlists “Gun Game” playlist added to Featured Playlist (no parties allowed). “Mercenary Deathmatch Moshpit” playlist added to the Featured Category (TDM and Kill Confirmed, no parties allowed). “Chaos Domination” playlist to Featured Category (3-second captures, 150-point rounds, 6v6). Hardcore TDM / Hardcore Kill Confirmed Player count increased to 6v6. 2 Specialist limit per team. Assault Rifles We’re dialing back some previous buffs to Assault Rifles to help close the gap in effectiveness between ARs and SMGs, allowing SMGs to be more effective at firing on the move. Slight reduction to ADS move speed for all Assault Rifles. Slight reduction to ADS-in transition speed for all Assault Rifles. ICR-7 Reduced headshot damage. Slight reduction to reload speed. VAPR-XKG Reduced close-range headshot damage. Damage now falls off sooner. High Caliber: Reduced headshot multiplier, eliminating the possibility of a 3-hit kill. Submachine Guns Mobility is the primary strength of SMGs, speeding across the map to engage or disengage quickly. Some of the close-range SMGs were performing quite well, while others struggled to compete with the rest of the category. This week’s balancing pass levels the playing field between SMGs. MX9 Extended all damage ranges. High Caliber: Reduced headshot multiplier, eliminating the possibility of a 4-hit kill. Cordite Extended all damage ranges. Belt-Feed Operator Mod: Increased overheat rate. GKS Quad Shot Operator Mod: Slight time increase in between bursts. Saug 9mm Dual Wield Operator Mod: Reduced hip-fire accuracy. Tactical Rifles We’ve buffed the ABR to be more competitive with the other Tactical Rifles, while stepping down its Operator Mod to keep it from becoming a crutch Attachment. The Swordfish received some Attachment adjustments, as well. ABR 223 Extended maximum damage range. Repeater Operator Mod: Now takes longer to accelerate fire rate. Stock: Slight reduction in movement speed bonus. Laser Sight & Laser Sight II: Improved hip-fire accuracy. Swordfish High Caliber: Reduced headshot multiplier, eliminating the possibility of a 3-hit kill. Penta Burst Operator Mod: Reduced extra granted clip-size. Sniper Rifles The other Sniper Rifles needed help to fight King Paladin. We’re giving these rifles reduced idle sway and upping their damage to help finish off wounded targets more consistently. Removed turn sway when aiming down sights on all Sniper Rifles to better ensure the weapon reticle stays centered when turning. Paladin HB50 High Caliber II: Hitting the lower torso on a full Tak-5-boosted enemy will no longer be a 1-hit kill. FMJ II: Improved damage against Scorestreaks. Stabilizer II: Player can now hold breath sooner after the previous hold breath. Outlaw Improved base damage from 110 to 130. Reduced idle sway. Increased base movement speed. Stock: Slight increase in ADS movement speed bonus. SDM Increased clip size from 10 to 12. Reduced idle sway. Koshka Improved Damage from 120 to 140. Stock: Slight increase in ADS movement speed bonus. Light Machine Guns Some in the community have discovered that the Titan and VKM 750 are extremely effective weapons! We’re toning them down before everyone jumps on the bandwagon. While they’ll still be scary to face off against, players will now have a more reasonable chance to defend themselves against these LMGs. Titan Reduced headshot damage. Reduced hip-fire accuracy. Stock: Reduced ADS movement speed bonus. VKM 750 Reduced movement speed while firing. Reduced damage slightly. Fat Barrel Operator Mod: Reduced bullet tracer size. Hades Cross Bar Operator Mod: Reduced movement speed and accuracy. Steady Grip: Improved recoil mitigation. Pistols Slight reduction to ADS-in transition speed for all Pistols. RK 7 Garrison Slight increase to the time between bursts. Slight reduction to reload speed. Shotguns This weapon class is close to where we want it, with only a couple of specific Attachments performing better than intended. Shotguns in Black Ops 4 play a different role than in past Call of Duty titles, and those who have practiced cat-and-mouse gameplay can be highly effective with them. MOG 12 Choked Barrel: 1-hit-kill range reduced. Dragon’s Breath Operator Mod: Resolved an issue where the Dragon’s Breath occasionally triggered incorrect visual and sound FX on targets. SG12 Strobe Light Operator Mod: Addressed an issue with the Strobe Light where it would remain on after death. Live update coming soon to reduce the range at which the Strobe Light interferes with enemy aim. Attachments (All Weapons) Grip II Reduced ADS flinch mitigation. Suppressor Reduced damage falloff ranges. Holographic Sight Optic Reduced ADS recoil. Dual Zoom Optic Reduced ADS recoil. Recon Optic Reduced ADS recoil. ELO Optic Slightly increased ADS recoil. Specialists Ajax We’re providing more strategic options to counteract Ballistic Shield, and to help ensure the Shield isn’t activated too often in the same game. Explosives now apply partial damage to the front of a deployed Ballistic Shield user. Ballistic Shield now takes longer to earn. Nomad We want to encourage Nomad to work more closely with his K9-Unit to maximize effectiveness. Reduced K9-Unit health by 10%. Crash While we’re happy that our Support Specialist is so popular, he was a bit too effective as a Scorestreak farmer. Reduced “Teammate Used Pack” score event from +50 to +25. Firebreak Purifier has been restored to its former glory. Increased Purifier flame damage to be a guaranteed eventual kill against a player who doesn’t have Tactical Mask equipped. Recon Intelligence wins wars, and Recon is living proof. We have intelligence that Recon’s intelligence is too good, so we’re re-classifying some of his sources. Reduced Sensor Dart duration. Resolved an issue where voiceover would incorrectly state that the player’s Sensor Dart was destroyed. Torque Many in the community have embraced Torque with inventive playstyles, though he’s still struggling on a broader scale. We bolstered the effectiveness of his Barricade to ensure he stays relevant in team compositions. Increased earn rate for Barricade. Increased hit points for Barricade. Addressed an issue that prevented TAACOM from telling the player that their Barricade was taking damage. Prophet Prophet’s Tempest needed an upgrade to stand a chance of competing with the rest of the Specialists. Greatly increased Tempest projectile speed. Slightly increased Tempest chain distance. Resolved an issue where being hit by an explosive charge would disable the Tempest charge, preventing further arcing. Spawns Team Deathmatch Tuned spawn logic around how enemies impact where the game chooses to respawn the player. Spawn adjustments made for Slums, Summit, Militia, and Firing Range. Domination Spawn adjustments made for Icebreaker, Contraband, Hacienda, Payload, Gridlock, Slums, Summit, Militia, Jungle, and Firing Range. Hardpoint Tuned spawn logic tuning around how the active Hardpoint affects nearby spawns. This should provide more predictable spawns when battling over an active Hardpoint. Additional global spawn adjustments to improve the ability for a player to anchor a location for their team’s respawns relative to an active Hardpoint. Spawn adjustments made for Frequency and Seaside. Free For All Spawn adjustments made for Slums, Summit, Militia, and Firing Range. Control Spawn adjustments made for Slums, Summit, Militia, and Firing Range. Gear Stim Shot Increased time to fully heal the player. Armor Resolved an issue where Armor protected from more damage than intended when hitting areas of the body that have damage multipliers, such as the head or upper chest. This primarily affects weapons with chest modifiers, such as Sniper Rifles or weapons with High Caliber II. Acoustic Sensor Reduced the range at which sprinting enemies are detected. Perks Dead Silence Reduced player movement volume and distance that players equipped with Dead Silence can be heard by enemies. The intention for Dead Silence is not to be completely silent, but also not to allow enemies to hear your movement from longer distances. Engineer Extraction helicopter in Heist will no longer be highlighted by the Engineer Perk. Scorestreaks Mantis Resolved an issue where the Mantis could be destroyed by touching the Out-Of-Bounds area of a map. Dart Increased explosion radius and damage. Players can now use a second Dart when earning two Dart Scorestreaks. Strike Team Prevented Strike Team kills from contributing towards owner's kills without dying medals. Gameplay Reduced ranges required for Longshot Medals for Assault Rifles, Tactical Rifles, Submachine guns, and Light Machine Guns. Resolved an issue where the “Hard Stop” Challenge could reset before reaching 300. Resolved an issue where the “Marksman Mastery” Challenge would not give 10,000 XP upon completion. Resolved an issue where destroying friendly Scorestreaks would award score. Players can no longer crouch or go prone while performing a Gesture. Game Modes Increased XP earn rate in Heist. Increased amount of XP earned per kill in Free For All. Resolved an issue where Hardcore wins were not counted toward Challenges. Resolved an issue in Free For All where Recon players could receive Vision Pulse assist score. Silent Plant option in Custom Games should now make planting and defusing bombs completely silent. Maps Icebreaker Adjusted cover pieces to discourage players from spawn-camping. Added cover to the lower respawn side. Slums Adjusted cover pieces to discourage players from spawn-camping. Miscellaneous Several map fixes to address exploits that allowed players to leave the intended play space. Theater Theater files recorded before this update will no longer be viewable due to significant architectural changes to the system. As noted in our previous major update, we will make every effort to keep instances of incompatibility to a minimum. Added a watermark in the HUD that only displays when in Theater mode. Why this change? We often see players posting videos recorded from Theater as a demonstration of “poor hit detection” or other issues that appear to be incorrect. While Theater represents what happened in a match in a general sense, it does not reflect with 100% accuracy all of the details as they were experienced live. Live recorded gameplay footage is the more accurate method for reporting behavior in the game that is not performing as expected. With this change, we can better identify Theater clips when reviewing community videos and therefore filter them out for the more accurate live recorded clips. Audio Resolved issues that caused footsteps to sound muffled when they shouldn’t be. Blackout Playlists 100-Player Solos added to Featured playlist. Maximum player count set to 88 for Duos and Quads. Audio Tweaked settings to ensure friendly teammates’ footsteps are now quieter than enemy footsteps. Adjusted footsteps for all Armor types in first-person and third-person to give better directionality and distance information. Resolved an issue that occasionally caused footsteps to be silent. Resolved issues that caused footsteps to become muffled when they shouldn’t be. Armor Armor now allows more damage to pass through to areas of the body that have damage multipliers, such as the head or upper chest. For example, headshots now do more damage against Level 3 Armor. Character Missions Unlocked remaining Specialist Character Missions (Battery, Firebreak, Nomad, Prophet, Ruin, Seraph) “Item Found” Notifications To tag an item for your teammate, approach the Item and select the bottom center command on your Command Wheel. This will display the Item in text on your team’s HUD and highlight the item in the world for your team. Increased the brightness of Items when a teammate tags them as “Item Found” via the Command Wheel. Increased duration that Items tagged using “Item Found” are displayed in the world to your team. Calling Cards and Challenges Resolved an issue where completing Dark Ops Challenges would not unlock their associated Calling Card. Resolved an issue where certain Challenges rewarded the same Calling Card. UI Resolved an issue where the Altimeter could disappear during Infiltration. Resolved an issue where incorrect Inventory items could be shown while spectating another player. Miscellaneous Resolved an issue that allowed players to shoot through certain rocks. Improved visual quality of the grass. Resolved an issue where the After Action Report would show double damage when in Squads. Resolved an issue where Echelon Ranking wasn’t showing properly at Max Rank. Zombies Gameplay Increased XP earn rate for Hardcore and Realistic difficulties. Blood of the Dead Addressed an issue where the New Industries portal ghost remained visible from the start of the step. Fixed lever animation on the Power House ghoul in the Main Easter Egg Quest. IX Resolved an issue where players could be tossed outside the intended play space of the Boss Battle Arena. Resolved an issue where earning Mule Kick could take away all player weapons and money. Miscellaneous Resolved an issue preventing players from applying their Clan Tag or using the Kill Counter after weapon Prestige. Resolved an issue where the SG12 lost all attachments when Pack-A-Punched. Fixed multiple exploit spots in the maps. Fixed several stability issues associated with entering and exiting the Alchemy Lab at specific times. Earning additional Perks will now be displayed on the player’s HUD. Resolved issues with Prestige Master not functioning correctly. Resolved several issues with Custom Mutation options not working correctly. Resolved an issue where the wrong Camo could be displayed on a weapon. Resolved an issue where players were not getting revived when the DG-5 Power Plant ability had been enabled. Resolved several instances of Anywhere But Here not working when activated on a moving platform, like the gondola in Blood of the Dead. Fixed an exploit where players could keep their Special Weapon out indefinitely. General Social Players can now invite players who are online, but not in the game, to their in-game party. Miscellaneous Resolved an issue where particular weapon Camos would overlap weapon Optics. Resolved multiple issues with Paintjobs not showing up in-game. Resolved an issue where your Gun Rack would show up when inspecting other players. Resolved an issue where Emblems for other players would appear in lower resolution than expected in the Social menu. General stability fixes and performance improvements across Multiplayer, Blackout, and Zombies.
  5. As I enter my first day going away from home on holiday for a week, I wanted to give a brief update and thank you for being awesome over the past 4-6 weeks. Honestly has been too many things to remember going on here but I'll list a few that have been great highlights. World Cup Fantasy Football - largest group we've had do a league here World Cup Sweepstake - thanks @LordBaguette for sorting it FG GTA Fridays becomes a mainstay - 16 last week most of the night New people on board - 40 new members have joined since start of July. Great to see a few make their intros too! Go say hi if you haven't already people! Destiny 2 new raiders - The largest number of raids completed we've ever had with multiple new maiden raiders this time round Whisper of the Worm Support Runs - Hector and Rob bringing their A-Game to help nearly all FGers get the most OP gun FGer of the Month - new feature for all to suggest a great FGer each month. I want to keep hearing you people, always. Love yous all muchly ❤ GGFG
  6. I like that they're doing videos to explain the update as well as patch notes. Bounties are a welcome addition so going to have a look around tonight. The Solstice of Heroes sounds good because of the 'new bosses' but we'll have to wait and see. Some of that gear looks epic though. Closer to the prestige gear that was in Wrath of the Machine. Btw, this update is free to all players. I get that having the DLCs though helps with the Power on the raids.
  7. I thought it would be a good time to do a quick update as we are heading into one of the biggest weeks of gaming next with E3. It's been a funny old year so far this year. Some real positives seen early in the year however, games have took a serious dive into Spring which has been felt around the community. We continue to say hi to new people coming in and old veterans coming back and saying hi. Great to see a few stick around of late too. We should be proud that we've still managed to do quite a lot and have a lot of fun along the way. Over recent weeks we have: - Loads of video montages, thanks to @tronic44 and @Greboth - The born of GTA FG Friday - how epic have they been?!? - The creation of the Forever Gaming Feel Good Fund with a bunch of people wthat now feel good - New quizzes made for the community - A bunch of new members and a few old regulars have come back That being said, I feel like we've lost a bit of drive of late. It does happen as it is Summer and for once, the UK is having decent weather, but with the hope of what comes next week, let's get back on track. I can't do this on my own and we all know how this is the best place to be when its buzzing. Share what news you can from E3, get involved and support the new FGers feel at home. I want to push this place and all of us to have way more fun and get more complete a shed loads of activities together - from messing about in quickplay games, completing hard raids and joining up to do some charity streaming and real life meeting. We can do this people! GGFG
  8. Well, it needs some life and i'm glad we hear Josh Harnick talking some sense when he explains they have decided to push weapons more to the OP side of things. I'd rather have more guns to talk about in PvP and be able to say 'what the hell was that gun that shot me'. The Dawnblade at 2 minutes in looks exactly like you want it to look - fast, powerful and causing havoc (not to mention annoying for a Titan). Like it's been said by many people that follow D2 still and want it to be good, this will hopefully make the PvP side much more interesting, whilst they still need to focus heavily on sorting out the PvE side which I have my fingers and toes crossed for May's update. One thing I did see online is that they are still listening and considering Random Rolls and Weapom Slots as 'extremely high' up the discussion ladder at Bungie. I feel if they could one of those at some point Shotguns and Snipers would have a place again. I may pop on for some PvP later in the week to check out the speed differences.
  9. Happy Sunday people Haevn't done one of these for a while so thought it would be good to do one. This one will be brief this time round, as I think it's been a quieter month in general. We've had half a dozen newbies to the place, only seen a few say hi though which we should always encourage so we can all get to know you and vice versa. I haven't had much time around work to organise some game nights like we usually do - I equally believe that the Destiny saga followed by a lack of MP games that haven't offered much in grouping up and 'fun' equal to a month where we focus on other things a little more. We've still got the 2018 plans up so on the radar is working out a charity date for a 24 hour stream. From today we'll try and make some game events so it may help stem some grouping up and certain things. However, i'm more interested to know how you're year has started - been a busy one? How should we inject some fun around the place? What different things should we all try? I've seen a few posts and threads on a similar theme so let's get some talking going and understand what the score is from a gaming and personal fronts. As always, love hearing what you've got to say. Keep fighting the FG fight y'all. Lee
  10. Developer Hello Games hinted at a new update coming in August potentially to substantially update the game to higher standards. The information released said: "We want to extend our gratitude to everyone who has contributed to the Mercury Subroutine so far," the statement reads. "We hope you have enjoyed the successful distribution of 180 Access IDs, and we hope you will also appreciate the other interesting artifacts we have in store for you going forward. "We intend to keep the process alive until the completion of Project Waking Titan in August. "It is important to mention that we are very excited by the coming Phases 2 and 3. Input from the Mercury Subroutine will pave the way toward new experiences in version 1.3 of a familiar universe. "We look forward to the successful conclusion of this ground-breaking experiment. Regards. S.M." The last big No Man's Sky PS4 and PC update was dubbed Pathfinder. The Pathfinder Update added new planetary vehicles, base sharing, PS4 Pro support, ship/weapon specialisation, permadeath mode, and much more. Hello Games also made various visual improvements, and added a new photo mode. The screenshot tool lets players change the time of day, increase or decrease fog and cloud levels, unlock their camera for new angles, and add filters. Now, this all good and well but I just don't think anyone is listening to them any more. Has anyone fired this game up in the last 6 to 12 months? Such a shame any game has to end this way but they should be thinking of saving money right now and putting it towards their next title, if they get the chance to make another game.
  11. There are some awesome updates happening. I'm pumped about this.
  12. It's not much in terms of detail but there is news coming through the gamer feedback group Elite Task Force (ETF) that was created by The Division that there will be new content. This is apparently not revisited strikes and missions but geniunely new content across 2 large patches. Its under NDA at the moment so probably won't hear much more for a bit, unless this is the good old accidentally on purpose leak to build some hype. Good move if its brand new content. If Ubisoft have a challenge to retain players against the likes of Bungie, Blizzard and Bethesda then regular new content is the way to go. Just really hope it is a challenging experience that is worth the re-visit.
  13. Battlefield 1 May Update will be shown via an hour long stream today. It kicks off at 1pm PDT, 4pm EDT, 9pm BST, 10pm CEST. If anyone sees it, please share what's on offer. It'd nice to see it brought back to life but I doubt it somewhat.
  14. Free new mode look interesting bit hard as hell New update will also bring: End to ‘Competitive Season 3’ and Wheel rewards distributed to competing players based on their highest skill tier reached Start of ‘Competitive Season 4’ with a variety of changes New Esports “Live Now” button on the main menu to notify players of official streams Spectator camera improvements including a Boost Meter and Rumble Power-up indicator for watchers in Player View New speed-themed Turbo Crate with the potential to unlock animated Decals, Exotic Wheels, Black Market customizations and more New import Battle-Car Endo, available as a limited-drop inside the Turbo Crate Six new Achievements and Trophies
  15. In short, external hard drives are now live to use min 250GB upto 8TB. Also, you can now make a chat party private to public and vice versa AFTER it has been created. That was one little annoying one that happens when you directly start a chat from your friends list. Glad they've fixed it. You can also add your own screenshots to the backdrop and attach them to the 'What's New' section. Really good update overall.
  16. I saw this article on the FG Facebook page so I thought I'd post it here to see if it could generate some kind of discussion. 10. External Storage Support As anyone who owns more than three PS4 games can attest, the console’s default 500 GB fills up right quick. Upgrading the hard drive is pretty much a necessity when games regularly take up 40-50 GB of hard drive space; unfortunately, Sony doesn’t make it very easy to do so. For some unfathomnable reason, the PS4 only supports internal storage drives, which severely limits your options when you inevitably have to shop around for a larger hard drive (not to mention internal drives are generally more expensive than external). This is surely something Sony could fix with a firmware update, so it’s perplexing why they haven’t done so yet. 2.5″ SATA drives — the only type the PS4 supports — currently top out at 2 terabytes which, while still a massive improvement over 500 GB, pales in comparison to the options available with an external drive. Just imagine how many games you could put on this thing! 9. The Ability To Search For Communities “Communities” are a newer addition to the PS4 ecosystem, enhancing the console’s social functionality by allowing users to rally around similar interests, play games together, and share tips and tricks. While they have been a popular and welcome feature, Sony dropped the ball in a a big way by seemingly forgetting to include the ability to search for Communities. This means that users have to do a bit of digging around to join up with a specific one, involving a number of unnecessary steps that are inefficient and time-consuming. Considering the backlash this error in judgment has received so far, it’s likely only a matter of time before Sony implements a Community search bar, but this is still an issue that shouldn’t even exist in the first place. 8. Video Capture Categorization The PS4’s sharing features are significantly better than what the Xbox One currently offers, but there’s still considerable room for improvement. Perhaps the biggest issue (and one that seems to pervade the PS4 as a whole) is the poor categorization options included for organizing recorded screenshots and videos. The PS4 simply doesn’t allow for enough organization when it comes to these game captures, which makes things needlessly complicated and cumbersome for users who like to share content on a regular basis. Admittedly, the lack of categorization options is systemic of pretty much the entire PS4 user experience, but fortunately, adding these kinds of features isn’t anywhere near as complicated as something like backwards compatibility, so updating the video capture menu is probably something we’ll see down the road. 7. Allow For Pinned Apps Another fix that seems so simple, but one that PS4 users continue to wait for is the ability to pin apps. Right now, it’s still pretty easy to find whatever apps you want to use, but is there any good reason why something like Netflix — an app that most PS4 users use on a constant basis — has to be needlessly buried in the “TV and Movies” tab? Users should be able to pin their favorite apps and games so that they can access them quicker. This pretty much all stems from the PS4’s inexplicable lack of organization and categorization options (something that definitely needs to be addressed in a future firmware update) but the ability to pin apps should be at the top of Sony’s list for future PS4 improvements, especially when it really wouldn’t be that difficult to implement. 6. “Appear Offline” Mode This is such a simple feature it’s baffling that Sony hasn’t thrown it into one of its many firmware updates. The ability to appear offline isn’t an important feature by any stretch, but with consoles pretty much having to be always online these days, it’s sometimes nice to at least pretend you’re offline for those times when you want to be antisocial. We don’t all want to be pestered by our friends to play an online game when we’re deep into a mission in Fallout 4 or have every moment of our gaming time broadcast to everyone on our friends list. Sometimes it’s just nice to be left alone and do some solo gaming, but evidently Sony doesn’t want anyone to do this or else they would have added this feature long ago. Come on, Sony: The Xbox One has an appear offline feature; why can’t the PS4? 5. Better Controller Battery Life Although this isn’t a fix Sony can simply make just by releasing a patch (unless there’s a way to turn off whatever drains the battery so fast) the fact of the matter is that the DualShock 4’s battery life is much too low. You pretty much need to own at least two controllers so that one is always being charged, as the DualShock 4 consumes battery power at an alarmingly fast rate. If there’s no way to make any fixes through a firmware update, it would be nice to see Sony release new batches of controllers with improved battery life, or the option to replace the existing rechargeable battery with some AAs like the Xbox One does (although those controllers don’t have rechargeable batteries by default, to be fair). Whatever the solution, the PS4 badly needs a controller that doesn’t die after less than 8 hours of use; either that, or toss in a charging cable that that’s more than 3 feet long. 4. New Dashboard UI Overall, the PS4’s user interface is adequate and smartly laid out, but that doesn’t mean it couldn’t use a bit of a facelift. It’s hard to escape the feeling that the PS4 UI feels like it’s in beta form for the last two years and that we’re still waiting for the full realization of what the system should look like. The main thing that’s missing right now is the ability to organize games; it makes sense to have the most recently used games and apps appear earlier in the horizontal list, but there has to be a better way to categorize everything. Hopefully Sony pulls a Microsoft and releases something like the “New Xbox Experience” next year that overhauls the entire PS4 dashboard, bringing new features and a better overall aesthetic with it. It’s time Sony moved away from its launch day UI and gave us something new and vibrant. 3. Better PSN Infrastructure While PSN and Xbox Live are pretty much on par these days and are both well worth their subscription price, it’s hard to deny that Xbox has a much stronger online infrastructure that Sony simply can’t seem to match. Dreadful download speeds, strange networking quirks (what the heck is a NAT type error anyway?), and an infrastructure that seems to be a cyber terrorist’s best friend (remember that month long PSN outage back in 2011) are simply a reality of using Sony’s online service. While the company continues to upgrade the PSN and make it better everyday, it still plays second fiddle to Xbox Live. As the leading console this generation, Sony should also be leading when it comes to its online experience and unfortuantely, it’s just not there yet. Sony needs to continue making improvements to PSN’s backend that improve stability and performance across the board if they ever want to have the same reputation as Microsoft and their (comparatively) rock-solid online infrastructure. 2. True PS3 Backwards Compatibility Demand for backwards compatibility with PS3 games has only gone up since Microsoft (I know, I know! Enough with the Xbox references but Microsoft’s system does a lot of things right. To be fair, you could pack an entire list of things the Xbox One should copy from the PS4, so it’s all relative) revealed that the Xbox One would be gaining the ability to play Xbox 360 titles earlier this year. While recent reports suggest that PS2 emulation is coming soon, there’s still no way to play the PS3 games you own on the console. There are two potential ways Sony could go about remedying the PS4’s lack of backwards compatibility with PS3: they could go the emulation route, which could very well not even work considering the PS3 was such a needlessly complex piece of hardware. The other solution and the one that seems like the more likely of the two is to expand PlayStation Now to allow you to stream all of your PS3 games. At the moment, PlayStation Now allows you to play a variety of PS3 titles for a monthly subscription fee, but nobody wants to pay twice to experience games they already own. If Sony can make PS3 emulation a reality or improve upon PlayStation Now’s functionality, it would go a long way in matching what Xbox One has on offer and better unify the entire PlayStation library. 1. PSN ID Changes This is the big one, but also the one that may be the most difficult to remedy, perplexingly. Unlike Xbox Live, PSN does not allow you to change your name. That means that if you chose “ChronicMan420″ as your handle back in 2006 when the PlayStation 3 first came out and you were a young idiot, you’re still stuck with that unfortunate ID 9 years later. While it seems like it would be a simple thing to allow users to change their names, the PSN was set up in such a way where your actual ID — and not a series of numbers like on Xbox Live — are tied to everything on an account level, which means that it would a be a very complex process to switch any PSN name, let alone give every user the option. Recent comments from Sony suggest that they have heard the complains loud and clear, but that it might not even be possible to allow users to change their IDs. We can only hope that Sony finds an engineering solution that will allow us to no longer live with our shortsighted, regrettable online handles any longer.
  17. "Hey Summoners, Welcome to patch 4.12! With only a few patches between now and the League of Legends World Championships, our focus is on the competitive scene and the things we can do to ensure the landscape is diverse and healthy. Part of how we're accomplishing this goal is to look at champions who are skewing champion select in one way or another while also looking to healthy "almost there" champions, like Alistar or Ahri. For either side (strong or weak champions), our main philosophy is to look for strengths to highlight while also emphasizing weaknesses. This ensures a champ can hold onto their strategic value while still having meaningful tradeoffs. You'll also hear me repeat this many times. Too bad. For you Twisted Treeline fans, we've got two item overhauls with Grez's Spectral Lantern and The Lightbringer (they're now two separate item lines with different functionality), so be sure to read up before hopping into your 3s game. Final thing: we'll also be shipping jungle timers with patch 4.12! Read just below for a rundown on those but, as part of our focus on gameplay clarity, we want to ensure that the right skills are being rewarded in League of Legends. In the case of jungle timers, we want to focus on the meaningful choices you make with the information you've earned, rather than the quick arithmetic you can do with the clock. Also be sure to read our dev blog on Clarity for more philosophy! And that's it for now! Read up on the changes below, and we'll see you next patch!" You can read the details here.

Note that it might take some time before the majority of PC servers are equipped with this fix (up to 24h). UPDATE #1 (Nov 3): Server crashes We have identified an issue where the game server will crash and disconnect players, causing them to lose any stats gathered during that specific round. We have a fix in progress to address this issue in a server update and will let you know once it's ready to roll out. Since the launch of Battlefield 4, some fans playing online have been experiencing various issues with the game. Thanks to your feedback, many of these problems have been resolved, but there are still a number of bugs that we are actively working on. Below you will find a list of some of the resolved issues, as well as some of the issues we are prioritizing at the moment and what we’re doing to address them. Game crashes and freezes ELIMINATED AS WE IDENTIFY THEM Players on all formats have been experiencing game crashes and freezes while playing. We have logs of the most frequently occurring client crashes, and we are actively working to Obliterate the cause of these crashes in upcoming updates. Note that crashes come in different types, and therefore this is technically not one single issue. There are two kinds of crashes and two types of updates that can address them: server-side updates that we can release on the fly (four of these have already been released since launch), and game client updates that require more in-depth testing and certification before they can go live. We have found and eliminated some of the server-side crashes on PC in our server updates. There is also a planned client update on PC in the near future where we are aiming to eliminate as many of the client-related crashes as possible. Progress in Multiplayer Lost INVESTIGATING Players have reported losing their progress in multiplayer. This is probably related to crashes stopping the game reports from being sent to Battlelog. We are still investigating this issue in more detail. Note that your progress sometimes can seem to be reset during server maintenance windows. In these cases, your stats will be just fine and reappear later. Single Player Save File Corrupted WORKING ON POTENTIAL FIX We are still investigating the issue of single player save files being corrupted for some players. If you have experienced this problem, please describe below the steps leading up to the save file being corrupted, your platform (PC, PS3 or X360), and when the issue occurred. If you’re on PC, please also list your OS and system specs. Miscellaneous Audio Bugs FIX UPCOMING We are aware of the issues with missing/corrupted audio in multiplayer and have created a fix for them. This fix is planned for release in the next PC client patch. Magazine Reload Bug on Normal FIXED On all platforms, some players were experiencing a bug when playing on Normal servers. The bug caused the reload setting to incorrectly mimic the behavior from Hardcore servers. This was fixed in our fourth and latest server update. Xbox 360 Missions not Working as Intended FIXED There was a bug preventing Xbox 360 players from creating MISSIONS. This should now work properly, as we made some necessary changes to the backend infrastructure. Battlefield 4 Premium “Reset Stats” Feature Not Working FIXED Server Queues not Functioning FIXED Promotional Battlepack Items Not Appearing In-game and/or on Battlelog INVESTIGATING We are aware of this issue, and are working on a solution for it. Note that in some cases the Battlepack items will actually show up after a delay. If you’re still not seeing your items after 12 hours or so, please reach out to EA Help at https://help.ea.com/en/battlefield/battlefield-4 [help.ea.com]. Keep the Gameplay Feedback Coming! We are hearing your feedback regarding gameplay balance and other tweaks to classes and weapons, and are actively discussing these with the designers. One subject that’s been generating a lot of feedback is the controller layout in Battlefield 4. An in-depth look at the controller options in Battlefield 4 is published on the Battlefield Blog at http://blogs.battlefield.com/ [blogs.battlefield.com]. Thanks for your Patience We would like to thank all players who have been reporting their issues to us – your feedback is invaluable when making sure we can deliver the Battlefield 4 experience you all deserve. In true DICE fashion, we will keep supporting Battlefield 4 for a long time, and we appreciate your feedback and patience as we work these issues out. /The DICE team Found here. Boy I can't wait, it's time we see some improvement over various things in the game.
