Euan has been itching for a catch up on Search and Destroy on Call of Duty so let's put one in! Search and Destroy game mode and we'll need a maximum of 6 people if possible. If we have 6 and you're interested in coming, tick the maybe box and post a comment as we know sometimes things can happen on the day. Hope you can make it!
  3. Not surprisrd to say the least. They always take far too long to 'perfect' Gran Turismo games in my opinion. ------------------------------------------------ Gran Turismo Sport won’t see release until sometime next year, Polyphony Digital announced this morning on the PlayStation Blog. Originally scheduled for a Nov. 15 launch in North America and Japan, the game has been pushed back so that the developer can spend "more time to perfect [it]." "We do not want to compromise the experience in any way," creator Kazunori Yamauchi wrote. "While we cannot confirm a new release date at this time, we are more committed than ever to making GT Sport the best Gran Turismo game to date." The delay comes even after Polyphony Digital canceled an open beta in order to cut down on development time. Both the demo and the game had been revealed last fall during Paris Games Week for a 2016 debut. Gran Turismo Sport has been playable at recent events like E3 in June and Gamescom earlier this month, however, and it will continue to make the rounds at various events throughout the year. The latest entry in the successful racing series will be the first to hit PlayStation 4 whenever it does arrive.
  4. Thanks for Plumbrodders for the find. Planet Destiny's guide to the first things you should do and also prepare for RoI. ---------------------------- Specific Gear & Weapons My number one objective in Rise of Iron is to get a God Roll version of Dead Orbit’s new shotgun, the Last-Ditch 001. It’s the same archetype as the beloved Matador 64, and you can watch gameplay with it in this video that shows off its deadliness. I want this shotgun because I normally use a shotgun in Trials of Osiris and need to remain competitive. I’m also considering getting into tournament play. Now, I know only a small portion of the player base will be entering tournaments, and maybe you don’t even play PvP. If that’s your case, you don’t need a Last-Ditch. However, each of you may have a reason to want a different weapon or a different piece of gear. Maybe you’re a fusion rifle guy, or maybe you think the New Monarchy helmet looks super cool. If you have your eyes set on even just one faction item, and you want that item as fast as possible, there are things you can do prior to the DLC dropping to increase your chances of that getting that item early on, which I’ll explain. Preparation Without the ability to reroll perks, the only way to get a God Roll on this shotgun or another item you want is to earn and open as many faction packages as possible. The more packages you open, the more opportunities you have to obtain your preferred item, the more opportunities you have to roll godly perks. To get these packages you need to accumulate 2500 reputation with a faction. You can do this by trading in Motes of Light, Armour Parts, Weapon Parts, or Special and Heavy Ammo Syntheses. To get the most packages, you want to stock up on the items that give you the most reputation per cost. Two currencies that most players have a surplus of are Glimmer and Strange Coins. To get each additional rank, meaning the 2500 rep it takes to level a faction, it would cost you 25 Glimmer buying Weapon Parts, 40 Glimmer buying Special Ammo Syntheses, or 38 Glimmer buying Heavy Ammo Syntheses. Therefore, any excess Glimmer you accumulate should be spent on stacking Weapon Parts to optimize how many packages you can open on September 20th. The other currency is Strange Coins. It would cost 10 Strange Coins to earn 100 reputation through the Motes of light method, but only 1.33 Strange Coins for the same 100 reputation via Heavy Ammo Syntheses. Therefore, when you have spare Strange Coins, always burn them on Heavy Ammo Syntheses to optimize your reputation gains. Higher Light Level With the raid being released only 3 days after RoI drops, I’ll be doing everything I can to get my light as high as possible from Tuesday to Thursday. In previous expansions, you could immediately purchase higher level gear from vendors using Vanguard/Crucible/Legendary Marks. There’s a possibility we can expect to get some kind of Light boost through purchasing gear from vendors and opening faction packages. Preparation There are many ways to get Legendary Marks: Daily Story Chapters, Weekly Heroic Strikes, Daily PVP Activities, Weekly PVP Activities, Dismantling Year Two Legendary items After that, there are a few things you can do to effectively exceed the cap by saving up beforehand. The most effective way to do this would be to complete, but not hand in, the Trials of Osiris bounties on all three characters this weekend. This is the last weekend for Trials and you can save 2 bounties worth 25 Marks each. If you do this on all three characters, you’ll have an additional 150 Marks ready to be redeemed. Next, fill your vault with purple gear and weapons. Ideally, if the vendor gear is higher than 335 light, you would spend X amount of Marks on a pair of boots, dismantle legendary gear to hit the cap again, buy a chest piece, and the repeat for the helmet, gauntlets and whatever else you can get your hands on to immediately increase your light level. Getting an early start is critical, because we know in the past that your current light level has had an impact on the light level of your drops (court of Oryx for example). So the higher light you are before you start participating in the new content, the higher drops you will get, the quicker you’ll reach 385 light. Cryptarch Packages When Bungie developers were asked if we should hang onto Exotic Engrams, the developers smiled and opted to not answer the question. This might imply that they have something up their sleeve. Regardless of whether or not pre-DLC engrams can return new gear after RoI drops, there is still an incentive to stock up on these. At best, they might actually give you new exotics at higher light levels. At worst, they’ll rank up your Cryptarch. As you know, when your Cryptarch rank is leveled up, you get new engrams. These engrams, because they are received after the expansion drops, may turn into Rise of Iron gear and potentially increase your Light. Preparation We discussed saving legendary gear for the purpose of hording Legendary Marks. If you run out of space, prioritize engrams over weapons and gear. This is because engrams will get you post-DLC Cryptarch packages, but also turn into the same Legendary Marks that your already decoded gear will turn into. Summary This is a quick summary of the main points to take away from this article if you’re interested in rushing to maximum light before the raid and/or want to increase your chances at getting God Roll gear and weapons quickly: Extra Glimmer? Buy Weapon Parts. Extra Strange Coins? By Heavy Ammo Synths from Xur. Make sure you hit the cap of 200 Legendary Marks. Complete, but do not hand in your Trials bounties that provide Legendary Marks on all of your characters. Save all legendary gear to be dismantled post-DLC. If you run out of space, prioritize engrams. Ultimately, the most important thing is to enjoy the expansion in whichever way you prefer. Whether you’re like me and race to the finish, or you’re a “stop and smell the roses” kind of Guardian, I’ll see you out there on the 20th of September.
  5. Anyone hasnt got this yet and wants to try it out, Overwatch will be free to play for PS4 and Xbox One players from 9th-12th September, Blizzard has announced. Unlike the beta, this free weekend will encompass all 22 heroes and 13 maps with all modes enabled (Quick Play, Custom Games, Play vs. AI, and the latest Weekly Brawl). Progress will be carried over should players decide to purchase the game. This will include all content gathered from Loot Boxes, though Trophies and Achievements have been disabled for the free weekend. To find the Overwatch free trial you'll need to search for "Overwatch Free Weekend" on PSN or "Overwatch: Origins Edition Free Weekend" on Xbox Live. The Free Weekend client will be 9GB on PS4 and 15GB on Xbox One.

Any PC players tried this out? Its coming out on Tuesday (30th August) for PS4 with the xbox version being slightly delayed. It has a very good rating on steam and its a World War 1 FPS so I'm pretty bemused to why it hasn't been talked about. Clearly is the only alternative to the upcoming BF1 which I'm sure it won't match up but nevertheless it looks a solid FPS. Verdun Console Announcement Trailer
  7. From the developers of Life is Strange, is a 15-minute gameplay video of their new game. I think could be a big hit in 2017, as Life Is Strange was an underrated success on console. It's on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Really impressive stuff.

  11. Has anyone played this on PC yet? It looks fantastic and very close to alot games the community plays - hearthstone, final fantasy tactics, LoL. Would be great to see this finally on a console. Took the following from GameSpot. -------------------------------- Tactical strategy game Duelyst is already available on PC through its own launcher, but the free-to-play game is also headed to PS4, Xbox One, Steam, and mobile devices. GameSpot got the opportunity to speak to developer Counterplay Games, who revealed the news alongside a new trailer. Duelyst's gameplay mixes Fire Emblem-like tactical strategy with a card game like Hearthstone. You summon units and cast spells by playing cards you draw from a deck. Additionally, the visuals blend pixel art and hand-drawn illustrations, courtesy of Rogue Legacy and Chasm artist Glauber Kotaki. There's no official date for the game's release on Steam, consoles, or mobile devices, but GameSpot will keep you up to date as more information is revealed. Counterplay has been privately testing the game on Steam, with the latest update coming in July. It said at the time that it was on the verge of sending out more invitations to the test. You can sign up for Duelyst's Steam preview here Duelyst is currently available via the game's official website.
  12. PC role-playing game Torment: Tides of Numenera will also be released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Torment publisher Techland confirmed the news to our friends at Eurogamer Poland today, along with word that all three versions will launch simultaneously in spring 2017. Trailer Torment's console port was greenlit after the success of Wasteland 2 on consoles, Brian Fargo, boss of developer inXile told EG Poland. "Wasteland 2: Director's Cut success and the gratitude expressed by a lot of fans after this release made us begin to plan the Torment: Tides of Numenera for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One," Fargo said. "We're especially excited to work with Techland, who - as a fellow developers - know exactly how to execute such a release without compromising the quality." Console versions of the game will get their public debut at Gamescom in Cologne, in just under two weeks. ---------------------------------- Any PC lovers played this before? I'm sceptic that it could be a hit on console as it doesn't look that inviting.
  13. Bethesda have tweeted today: We’re working w/ Sony on Fallout 4 Mod support for PS4. The process is still under evaluation. As soon as we learn more, we will share news. They've had some issues clearly with the size of mods and I think this is a political statement more than any progress to state they are still committed to their original promise on ps4. I'm not sure that there is much crying out for mods still on console as there is on PC but suffice to say I think this is clearly showing that on console it has a bit to go until mods can be a fully fledged addition to games.

Like other live streaming services available on PS4, users will enjoy the following features: Activity Feed, What’s New Broadcast Info Tile, Live Detail and Live from PlayStation. The closed beta goes live on 2nd March Source (http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2016/03/01/ps4-3-50-system-software-update-key-features-detailed/?emcid=social_20160301_58820696&adbid=704622616741416960&adbpl=tw&adbpr=36969785)
  15. I saw this article on the FG Facebook page so I thought I'd post it here to see if it could generate some kind of discussion. 10. External Storage Support As anyone who owns more than three PS4 games can attest, the console’s default 500 GB fills up right quick. Upgrading the hard drive is pretty much a necessity when games regularly take up 40-50 GB of hard drive space; unfortunately, Sony doesn’t make it very easy to do so. For some unfathomnable reason, the PS4 only supports internal storage drives, which severely limits your options when you inevitably have to shop around for a larger hard drive (not to mention internal drives are generally more expensive than external). This is surely something Sony could fix with a firmware update, so it’s perplexing why they haven’t done so yet. 2.5″ SATA drives — the only type the PS4 supports — currently top out at 2 terabytes which, while still a massive improvement over 500 GB, pales in comparison to the options available with an external drive. Just imagine how many games you could put on this thing! 9. The Ability To Search For Communities “Communities” are a newer addition to the PS4 ecosystem, enhancing the console’s social functionality by allowing users to rally around similar interests, play games together, and share tips and tricks. While they have been a popular and welcome feature, Sony dropped the ball in a a big way by seemingly forgetting to include the ability to search for Communities. This means that users have to do a bit of digging around to join up with a specific one, involving a number of unnecessary steps that are inefficient and time-consuming. Considering the backlash this error in judgment has received so far, it’s likely only a matter of time before Sony implements a Community search bar, but this is still an issue that shouldn’t even exist in the first place. 8. Video Capture Categorization The PS4’s sharing features are significantly better than what the Xbox One currently offers, but there’s still considerable room for improvement. Perhaps the biggest issue (and one that seems to pervade the PS4 as a whole) is the poor categorization options included for organizing recorded screenshots and videos. The PS4 simply doesn’t allow for enough organization when it comes to these game captures, which makes things needlessly complicated and cumbersome for users who like to share content on a regular basis. Admittedly, the lack of categorization options is systemic of pretty much the entire PS4 user experience, but fortunately, adding these kinds of features isn’t anywhere near as complicated as something like backwards compatibility, so updating the video capture menu is probably something we’ll see down the road. 7. Allow For Pinned Apps Another fix that seems so simple, but one that PS4 users continue to wait for is the ability to pin apps. Right now, it’s still pretty easy to find whatever apps you want to use, but is there any good reason why something like Netflix — an app that most PS4 users use on a constant basis — has to be needlessly buried in the “TV and Movies” tab? Users should be able to pin their favorite apps and games so that they can access them quicker. This pretty much all stems from the PS4’s inexplicable lack of organization and categorization options (something that definitely needs to be addressed in a future firmware update) but the ability to pin apps should be at the top of Sony’s list for future PS4 improvements, especially when it really wouldn’t be that difficult to implement. 6. “Appear Offline” Mode This is such a simple feature it’s baffling that Sony hasn’t thrown it into one of its many firmware updates. The ability to appear offline isn’t an important feature by any stretch, but with consoles pretty much having to be always online these days, it’s sometimes nice to at least pretend you’re offline for those times when you want to be antisocial. We don’t all want to be pestered by our friends to play an online game when we’re deep into a mission in Fallout 4 or have every moment of our gaming time broadcast to everyone on our friends list. Sometimes it’s just nice to be left alone and do some solo gaming, but evidently Sony doesn’t want anyone to do this or else they would have added this feature long ago. Come on, Sony: The Xbox One has an appear offline feature; why can’t the PS4? 5. Better Controller Battery Life Although this isn’t a fix Sony can simply make just by releasing a patch (unless there’s a way to turn off whatever drains the battery so fast) the fact of the matter is that the DualShock 4’s battery life is much too low. You pretty much need to own at least two controllers so that one is always being charged, as the DualShock 4 consumes battery power at an alarmingly fast rate. If there’s no way to make any fixes through a firmware update, it would be nice to see Sony release new batches of controllers with improved battery life, or the option to replace the existing rechargeable battery with some AAs like the Xbox One does (although those controllers don’t have rechargeable batteries by default, to be fair). Whatever the solution, the PS4 badly needs a controller that doesn’t die after less than 8 hours of use; either that, or toss in a charging cable that that’s more than 3 feet long. 4. New Dashboard UI Overall, the PS4’s user interface is adequate and smartly laid out, but that doesn’t mean it couldn’t use a bit of a facelift. It’s hard to escape the feeling that the PS4 UI feels like it’s in beta form for the last two years and that we’re still waiting for the full realization of what the system should look like. The main thing that’s missing right now is the ability to organize games; it makes sense to have the most recently used games and apps appear earlier in the horizontal list, but there has to be a better way to categorize everything. Hopefully Sony pulls a Microsoft and releases something like the “New Xbox Experience” next year that overhauls the entire PS4 dashboard, bringing new features and a better overall aesthetic with it. It’s time Sony moved away from its launch day UI and gave us something new and vibrant. 3. Better PSN Infrastructure While PSN and Xbox Live are pretty much on par these days and are both well worth their subscription price, it’s hard to deny that Xbox has a much stronger online infrastructure that Sony simply can’t seem to match. Dreadful download speeds, strange networking quirks (what the heck is a NAT type error anyway?), and an infrastructure that seems to be a cyber terrorist’s best friend (remember that month long PSN outage back in 2011) are simply a reality of using Sony’s online service. While the company continues to upgrade the PSN and make it better everyday, it still plays second fiddle to Xbox Live. As the leading console this generation, Sony should also be leading when it comes to its online experience and unfortuantely, it’s just not there yet. Sony needs to continue making improvements to PSN’s backend that improve stability and performance across the board if they ever want to have the same reputation as Microsoft and their (comparatively) rock-solid online infrastructure. 2. True PS3 Backwards Compatibility Demand for backwards compatibility with PS3 games has only gone up since Microsoft (I know, I know! Enough with the Xbox references but Microsoft’s system does a lot of things right. To be fair, you could pack an entire list of things the Xbox One should copy from the PS4, so it’s all relative) revealed that the Xbox One would be gaining the ability to play Xbox 360 titles earlier this year. While recent reports suggest that PS2 emulation is coming soon, there’s still no way to play the PS3 games you own on the console. There are two potential ways Sony could go about remedying the PS4’s lack of backwards compatibility with PS3: they could go the emulation route, which could very well not even work considering the PS3 was such a needlessly complex piece of hardware. The other solution and the one that seems like the more likely of the two is to expand PlayStation Now to allow you to stream all of your PS3 games. At the moment, PlayStation Now allows you to play a variety of PS3 titles for a monthly subscription fee, but nobody wants to pay twice to experience games they already own. If Sony can make PS3 emulation a reality or improve upon PlayStation Now’s functionality, it would go a long way in matching what Xbox One has on offer and better unify the entire PlayStation library. 1. PSN ID Changes This is the big one, but also the one that may be the most difficult to remedy, perplexingly. Unlike Xbox Live, PSN does not allow you to change your name. That means that if you chose “ChronicMan420″ as your handle back in 2006 when the PlayStation 3 first came out and you were a young idiot, you’re still stuck with that unfortunate ID 9 years later. While it seems like it would be a simple thing to allow users to change their names, the PSN was set up in such a way where your actual ID — and not a series of numbers like on Xbox Live — are tied to everything on an account level, which means that it would a be a very complex process to switch any PSN name, let alone give every user the option. Recent comments from Sony suggest that they have heard the complains loud and clear, but that it might not even be possible to allow users to change their IDs. We can only hope that Sony finds an engineering solution that will allow us to no longer live with our shortsighted, regrettable online handles any longer.
  16. Just wanted to remind new and old members that Facebook is still updated daily with gaming news. If you're the social network type, make sure to come over, give us a like, share us with your friends and all of that jazz. Click here! Should we ever continue with our blog posts, they get posted on there as well. For those of you who like the page; I'm currently sharing only PS4 and PC news. Shall I add Nintendo and Xbox into the mix or do you guys like what is being shared?
  17. Whenever I turn on my PS4 (hardwired), my wife's wi-fi on her phone goes out and she can't get it back on until the PS4 is off. My phone seems to work just fine w/o any interruptions. My PC is fine as well. Not sure what the deal is. Every time I try to google the issue, I get a bunch of PS4 wifi shiz. I asked Bart and Owl the other night and one of them mentioned maybe there's a max # of connections allowed set up on the router, but that doesn't seem right because it happens whether it's just the PS4 and her phone, or PS4, her phone, my phone, and the PC connected. I've had the PC on, my phone, a laptop, and the PS4 all connected with no problems. It's just her phone. She has an Xperia Z. Any ideas what could be going on?
  18. Rich was telling me how addictive this game is. Football mixed with cars. http://store.steampowered.com/app/252950/ It's out on PC and PS4 (it was £15 on PC) The online matches come from a pool of both PS4 and PC players. I believe they're attempting to add matchmaking (or at least private matches) between the two platforms. That would be excellent. I played a couple of matches earlier after doing a quick tutorial. It's so much fun
  19. Hey guys, This thread is for our usual banter. Enjoy! Xbox 360, PC, PS3, PS4, & Xbox One (if there is any), [|FG|] members all welcome.

  21. http://www.gamezone.com/news/planetside-2-ps4-info-coming-really-soon-possibly-at-playstation-experience PlanetSide 2 PS4 info coming 'really soon,' possibly at PlayStation Experience By Matt Liebl Information possibly regarding the beta release for PlanetSide 2 on PlayStation 4 is coming really soon, according to Sony Online Entertainment Community Manager Tony "RadarX" Jones. Elaborating on his initial tease, Jones added that SOE "hope to talk more about it really soon!" Of course, most of this was said in early-mid October, and seeing as how we're almost in November, I think SOE and I have different interpretations of the word "soon." @JaredBanKks @planetside2 We can switch words I guess. In the near future? Around the corner? We'll seriously talk more soon. — RadarX (@RadarX) October 17, 2014 For the most part, Jones has been pretty coy in sharing more details, only teasing that news regarding PlanetSide 2 on PS4 is coming "so soon you won't know how soon that soon really is. It'll be an explosoon." So looking ahead, what "big" events does Sony have planned where it would be appropriate to announce something as huge as PlanetSide 2's beta launching on PS4? PlayStation Experience. December 6th-7th at Las Vegas (which also happens to be where SOE Live was held). When asked if PlanetSide 2 will be part of the two-day community event -- which features PlayStation games, panels with developers, and "exciting" game announcements -- Jones answered: "We're currently talking about it." Unfortunately, that's all I've got for you guys. Last I heard (back in August at SOE Live), SOE was making "a bunch of progress" in terms of optimization with the interface on PS4. In fact, interface optimization has been a major focal point of the dev team since I first saw the game running on PS4 back at E3 in June. All SOE told me at the time was that PlanetSide 2 is coming to PS4 in 2014. Two months later, I tried to ask again. @Matt_GZ 2014! — Luke Sigmund (@LukeSigmund) October 23, 2014 Technically, PlayStation Experience falls within that window. I'm calling now, SOE will announce the release of PlanetSide 2 beta on PS4 at SOE Live. On a side note, maybe if SOE wouldn't be such a tease, they wouldn't get such mean tweets.
  22. So has anyone got anything really good yet or looks really awesome? I have a few "Elite" weapons, all of which are from weapons I don't really like the look of... I have an elite atlas 20mm- snapper. Sniper rifle, although I cannot use it or see the stats until rank 38. Elite Tac19- sledgehammer. Shotgun, I'm not ready for shotguns yet... Probably the best looking 1, EMP3 - Parsec. Heavy, semi auto energy weapon, tested in the firing range and it's very easy to keep it going without ever overheating if you time your shots... Also it has maximum range...
  23. So my Dualshock 4s have both been playing up recently so I decided to have a look inside and see if I can fix the sticking buttons and just look at how hard or easy it would be to replace the sticks... As soon as I opened it I saw this... Now that white tape looking stuff has connectors on both ends, so I'm assuming there's wires in there, and just look how creased and screwed up it is. It connects the main motherboard and a smaller one, the smaller one seems to be connected to the light bar and the USB charging port. My remotes both have problems charging, sometimes they just don't charge and I was wondering would the state of this connector be affecting the charging? I'm pretty sure it's not meant to be in such a state...
  24. So with this gaming coming out soon, who is pre-ordering and what console? I'm going to place my pre-order for the PS3. I have JollyGrnGiant (Matthew) who some may know of him, he is also getting it for PS3. So will there be anyone else getting it on PS3?
  25. Ashley Johnson voiced the role of Ellie in The Last of Us video game. The film, announced in March, is still early in development, and the actress is yet to sign on to the role. Sam Raimi, the director of the original Evil Dead and Spider-Man trilogies, is set to produce. Naughty Dog's creative director and writer Neil Druckmann will pen the script. The script will have some changes from the game's story. Initially Druckmann wanted the film to have a different ending, but Raimi convinced the writer otherwise. According to Druckmann, Naughty Dog has final approval on both the casting and directing of the film. The news comes shortly after the announcement of a release date for the Uncharted film, another adaptation of a Naughty Dog game. http://www.polygon.com/2014/7/25/5937609/the-last-of-us-movie-announced
